It's interesting that Voyage continues to rank as high as it does even though it seems like I've read nothing but poor reviews of how rough that thing has become the past couple of years. I would still rank it in my top 5 based on my rides from about 5 years ago (haven't been back since) but don't know if I would rate it as highly in it's current condition.

Wow, I really didn't expect San Fran to to dominate Green Bay like that. Kaepernick looked like a hall of gamer last night. -
^Yeah, MMJ is an amazing band live and absolutely one of my favorites. I've seen them twice but I'lll make an attempt to see them on every tour they do from now on. A 25 minute version of Dondante must have just been chilling, from what I understand that's a pretty emotional song for the band (especially Jim) and they don't play it live very often except for at special shows like this. Also I love how they're not afraid to take on challenges like this as a band where they play three nights in a row and never repeat a song. They did a stand at a club in NYC a few years ago where they played like 4 nights in a row and each night played one of their albums in it's entirety start to finish. They've also been known to put on a few marathon sets at Bonnaroo and on New Years Eve. Ah, such an amazing band, kinda pisses me off a little when bands like Nickleback and Shinedown are commercially famous and these guys aren't. Nothing against those bands they're fine and have their audiences and all but half the band on the radio these days couldn't hold a candle to the Jacket live /end rant. The lead singer Jim James has a solo album due out the beginning of February, should be an interesting project. I think when Jesus sings he probably sounds a little like Jim James.

^Yeah, mine too, it still doesn't look like a top 10 thrill ride or anything (but it doesn't have to be) but looks like it will be a really fun ride. I wonder if the path will stay this close to the coaster when it's all complete, I can't hardly think of any rides at Disney parks where the guest area are that close to the ride path, should make for some awesome interactions though.

^I'm hoping so, I had honestly never heard of the guy but some of my friends who are big Browns fans (I'm kind of a closet Browns fan) absolutely love the hire. The Browns have very quietly gotten better over the past couple of years and actually have a pretty decent roster in place right now with some good young talent, I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up competing for that division or even a playoff spot next season. -
So a late training trip for work has allowed me to book an early flight to NYC, and I managed to find a ticket to see Book of Mormon in February. So excited about this it's ridiculous, Hasa Diega Ebowai!

^Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see that attraction eventually end up in San Diego and San Antonio if it's successful. I'm really excited to see what the new additions for 2014 and 2015 are going to be. SeaWorld is slowly turning into one of the best parks in Orlando so I'm sure the new additions will be fantastic.

This was too easy..... Play Like Alabama Today Rudy never would have never made the team at Alabama....

I was kind of under the impression that the trucks themselves are not permanent only the "slots" for the trucks. I can't imagine a place like this would attempt to operate a full lunch and dinner schedule 7 days a week. The intention is probably to have a venue built to house the trucks for different events, and weekend meetups, and concerts and stuff on a semi-regular basis instead of every day. I'm sure Festival Bay has a big section of parking lot that is unused almost all of the time, so building something like this in that space probably isn't the most expensive venture so it might work.

If I was going to climb a dilapidated coaster partially submerged in the ocean because it fell off a pier during a hurricane with the intentions of hanging an American flag in some sort of weird patriotic salute I would have found a way to drag a case of fireworks up there with me. If your gonna do it, do it big.....

I don't know if this is necessarily the case anymore, Offenses that are efficient and score a lot of points with a defense that creates a ton of turnovers and effectively rushes the passer wins championships these days. The Packers, Giants, and Saints in recent years were "statistically" among the worst defenses in the league but a high powered offense and a defense that creates a ton of turnovers took them a long long way. (San Francisco does have this kind of defense though) -

I wonder how tall this model is going to be? These ARM drop towers usually scare the crap out of me, way more terrifying and intense than anything else on the market (no I am not a spokesman for ARM). -
^I heard that a couple of very large six figure bets were placed yesterday by multiple individuals on Alabama, so much that the line actually endued up at 10.5 or 11 maybe.

It's not Goofy related but my personal success rate with marriage proposals performed on Sunset Point at the Polynesian Resort is currently at 100%, if you pop the question there you might have similar success.

You know I hadn't watched ND play that much this year but after hearing about all of the accolades Te'o accumulated through the off season I was really hoping for a better performance by him. I mean usually if a senior is a finalist for the Heisman trophy then I would have heard of the guy at some point in his career before his senior season, but I had never even heard of Te'o until this year, so what does that say? I know it wasn't all his fault last night but there were a lot of open field tackles in space that he missed, and a lot of blocks he couldn't get off of to try to make plays. Wasn't very impressed with him, but then again Alabama was just unbelievable so it's hard to put to much stock in that game one way or the other. I know everyone hates the SEC right now because of their run of dominant success, but the notion that it's "good" for someone else to win right now just to break the streak to me is kind of silly. Parity doesn't sell, having a villain sells. Right now Alabama and the SEC are the best villain the sport has seen in a long time and personally I love watching everyone try to play the role of "hero" and knock off the big bad SEC. It hasn't happened yet but it will eventually, but right up to the moment when the SEC falls the passion around college football on a national level will continue to rise to all time highs. I can only imagine the hype and anticipation around he BCS title game next year if Ohio State goes undefeated and has a title shot against Alabama, or the next year when it's Oregon, or the next year when it's Texas. It was Miami in the late 80s, Nebraska in the mid 90's, USC in the early 2000's, Florida in the mid 2000's and now it's Alabama, but who's next?
-
^Eh, we'll see about the recruiting battle but college football is slowly turning into a sport with a "what have you done for me lately" kind of attitude, and two or three big time seasons by A&M paired with two or three average seasons by Texas and Oklahoma (Texas is in the middle of that slump right now) will swing that region in a big way (see Oregon 2007 to present and Alabama 2003-2006). I'll give you the fact that the history and tradition plays a part in "breeding" the kids to want to play for Texas and OU which will certainly help a program like that get back in the national spotlight quicker after some average years but I still have a feeling that the SEC exposure combined with Manziel fever is going to lift A&M to levels that program has never seen before, even after Manziel is slangin it around in the NFL (most likely for the Dallas Cowboys after Jerra goes all in and trades away 13 draft picks to move up to #1 in the 2015 NFL draft). Don't forget that A&M has some deep pockets of their own, I think their football program is still in the top 10 or 15 of estimated total worth in the NCAA.
-
^I think the odds are pretty darn good, that kid is uneblievable and Texas A&M is only going to get better now that they have unofficially won the recruiting rights to the state of Texas. I mean at this point with A&M playing in the SEC they are bound to get a ton of coverage next year with Manziel back so why would any elite talent from Texas want to go to Texas or Oklahoma instead of Texas A&M? I bet he wins at least one more if the voters don't completely screw him (see Tim Tebow 2008). BCS Championship game is tonight, any predictions? My official prediction is that in a semi-low scoring game Alabama wins by single digits but completely physically dominates Notre Dame, it's going to be one of those games where the score makes the outcome look closer then it actually was. Alabama whips Notre Dame and wins 26-17 (Alabama gets a safety at some point, maybe the first half).

For future reference never bet against a future first ballot Hall of famer playing in his last home game in the playoff 3 days after he's announced his retirement will occur at the end of the playoffs. It never ends well. -

NFC: Wild Card: GB and SEA Divisional: GB and SEA Champ: GB AFC: Wild Card: IND and HOU Divisional: NE and DEN Champ: NE Super Bowl: NE Wouldn't it be fitting for Green Bay to get another shot at Seattle after the debacle in week 3? Also I could see just about every wild card weekend game begin either a great game or a blowout, should be an exciting weekend. -
Is there any chance that LOTR could possibly take over the Lost Continent? I was always huge fan of the Poseidon's Fury show at IOA and could see transforming that attraction into a LOTR themed show working fairly well. While I agree that Universal would have to get creative with installing any sort of ride themed to LOTR some of the environments in the movies and books would make great themed section in parks with opportunities for merchandising and dining (and after Potter we all know how valuable those merchandising locations are). Rivendell, Helms Deep, The Shire, Moria, Bara-Dur, Minas Tirith, and there are a ton of others (I haven't seen the Hobbit yet which I imagine has a ton others). I could see The Lost Continent being transformed into Rivendell very easily, turn Mythos into an upscale Elven restaurant of some type, make Poseidon's Fury into a Mines of Moria passage attraction. We'll see, there are a lot of possibilities. (I geeked out a little research names of places for this post, it's been a while since I've watched the movies)

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

I just saw that update on their Facebook page and was think that between Thunder Alley, SOB, and Top Gun whenever they finally remove that (it can't be long now) they have a HUGE chunk of land available for a nice expansion. Can't wait to see what they have planned but I sure hope it's more than just a single new coaster in that general area. -
Weird/ Out of place coasters
Hilltopper39 replied to nhman93's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Before they built SOB at Kings Island Top Gun always seemed kind of out of place to me. It's a great little coaster but there is never a line for the thing because no one knows it's back there. I can't tell you how many times I've walked down the que line path and ran into people walking the opposite direction who had given up on walking to the station because they thought they were going the wrong way.
