I imagine it will be on the highest high of the high end that they offer. I'm pretty interested to see where the hotel fits in to the grand scheme of things with this project. I know it's all on paper and really far out but as massive as the land clearing for Starwars is if you start to factor in grounds for a hotel and the infrastructure that comes with it it may not be as big as it seems. I don't know since there aren't any "windows" and space port screens instead or whatever that would make you think designers have a lot of flexibility to maximize space, but who knows. Will the structure be a big windowless building? Will it be an actual life size space cruise ship docked on land haha? Who knows at this point. This is a pretty ambitious project and I'm interested to see how it unfolds, I know of all the things they announced recently I've seen way more general coverage on this in non-theme park pop culture than anything else.

Man, looking at that picture of New Texas Giant kind of puts into perspective just how massive New mean Streak is, I mean those turnarounds on Mean Streak might be twice as tall as the ones on the Giant. I know I'm stating the obvious at this point but this thing is going to be an incredible ride. -

^I'm still interested to see how popular it is at the park in years to come after the newness wares off a bit. -
I'm mostly indifferent to the (assuming) RMC makeover of the Georgia Cyclone. I liked the ride as is just fine, but if the conversion is similar to their previous work this will go from being a ride a lot of the GP probably don't care about to one of the best rides in the park. I've only been to SFOG a handful of times but I can't really remember ever waiting in a line for the Cyclone, I expect that to change.

The video of the mockup for that" 2.5D" concept looks pretty impressive. Since Great Movie Ride is closing soon (next month I think?) I wonder what the time line for this to open is? Wouldn't surprise me if it opens before next summer with Toy Story land. -
Not to get off topic but it is interesting to me how differently Disney treated the Pandora property from how Universal presents Potter. I haven't been to Pandora yet but from what I understand there is little to no reference to anything specific to the story line/characters of the film itself but rather focuses on the world the film takes place in, whereas the Potter park sections are heavily driven by the characters and story line of the films/books. It will be interesting to see what Disney eventually does with the Star Wars lands as I kind of imagine it will have to a mixture that meets somewhere in the middle of the two approaches.

Ever since these Tron rumors started popping up I though it would be cool if they could modify the speedway ride path and have the ride go inside of a the show Tron building for some indoor and outdoor scenes. Might even be a chance to update the whole concept and make it more modern and interactive. That or it'll just get torn down entirely, I really don't care either way.

Why? I mean they have two "mine trains" in the same park! Are you really complaining about another potential awesome coaster in Magic Kingdom!?!?!? #dumb Seeing as Tron is one of the most awesome coasters Disney has ever made, anyone who complains about it replacing small go-karts shouldn't be allowed to ride it... I'm not complaining about getting a new coaster or getting rid of the speedway, hell I'm going to shanghai just to ride the coaster. I was just thinking usually they seem to avoid placing rides that are same ride types in the same land. Like that Big thunder is in frontierland and seven dwarfs is in fantasyland. One is a rocket ship through outer space and one is a light bike race through the inside of a computer (I think), how are those the same type of ride?

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

How about one of those new "hand motion" activated dark rides (like Ninjago at Legoland) where you get a box of candy hearts and the goal is "push" away into a virtual trash can the disgusting white ones as quickly as possible. Whoever rids the earth of the most white hearts wins! -
Hold your horses there Coasterbill......sounds like the coaster is still open and some new rides have been added. I always kind of loved this place even if it is a bit sketchy. I could go play skee ball in the arcade by the parks for hours. Add in the Daytona Lagoon water park next door and it makes for a nice little day trip. New Rides Open on Daytona Boardwalk

I dind't find the ride to be rough at all and I think I prefer it to White Lightning just because of that crazy barrel roll. Both rides are really good. -
Disney World trip

I seem to always recommend EPCOT for days when you know it's going to be crowded. The park is huge so it never feels as crowded as Magic Kingdom and it's pretty easy to just kinda hang out and have a great day. See a few shows, eat, get a fastpass for Soarin and use single rider line for Test Track, eat some more. Seems like I remember they do a July 4th finale add on to Illuminations to which is cool. -

I got a couple of rides on Mine Blower Saturday afternoon, really fun little ride and way more intense than I was expecting. Rode once in the front and once in the back, I preferred the front. Not gonna lie that barrel roll kinda freaked me out the first time but in a good way! Also kinda random but Fun Spot requires you to show an ID to use your credit card but not your debit card which I thought was kind strange. I almost always have my wallet & ID but since I was coming from a water park in my board shorts with no pockets I just grabbed my credit card and ran in real quick to grab a few while the kids were asleep, but had to go back to grab my ID. Not a big deal just kinda caught me off guard. So heads up for anyone who uses a credit card but may not carry ID because you just left a water park and don't have pockets haha. -
^Yeah that's mostly what I thought I just wasn't sure if the higher end product maybe attracted more couples than families but it is a Disney. Looks like a great trip, I'd totally consider spending the extra money to travel with Disney for a trip like this especially if I were taking my kids, but we've got a few more years for that haha.

It IS a much darker feel, but I think that's on purpose. It lends itself well for the Marvel and the Lost Valley areas and then Cartoon Network areas are a bit brighter. The Lost Valley area looks great and the whole Marvel section has a really a cool nightime city look, it's not bad, just kinda darker.

Wait, there's really a 200 lb restriction for 2/3 rds of the drop capsule body slides? That's just absurd, I mean you can be in insanely good shape with a reasonable amount of muscle and easily weigh over 200 lbs. Maybe if half the daily attendance can't ride the slide it helps to keep Tapu Tapu return time low hahaha.
