  1. That looked like an epic day, wish I was there. I did Coastermania at Cedar Point one year and if I remember correctly I got to the parking lot around 6am and took my last ride on Millennium Force around 2am, so a 20 hour day, not quite 24 hours but a long day (I'd do it again in a second!).
  2. I agree, it looks incredible and should be a huge hit. I'm glad to see the park investing some money on themeing and overall quality, hopefully more "seasonal" parks will begin to do the same. Watch out for Manta at Seaworld San Diego, as a darkhorse candidate as well.
  3. The Christmas event sounds nice, they do a really nice job at Seaworld too so I would expect this to be a similar level of quality.
  4. ^Your in luck, the show recently announced several new tour dates including Portland in January of 2013. it will be interesting to see where the show actually goes on tour to, considering the controversial nature of the material I wouldn't be shocked to see the show avoid some of the major markets in the Bible Belt. Then again considering that tickets for Denver in August are already sold out maybe not.
  5. I always liked Snow White, but don't think it will be terribly missed by most people. I've said this before about Universal and I'll say it again, but I've always admired how Universal isn't afraid to completely remove an older yet classic attraction for something fresh and new and I've always wished Disney would do the same thing with some of their older rides, like Snow White. I agree, I've never felt the desire to eat at any of the full service dining facilities in the Magic Kingdom, so a signature restaurant would be a great addition. Maybe even a combo full service/counter service in the same location like Yak and Yeti and just about everywhere in Epcot has.
  6. Has anyone been following the historic comeback of pitching legend Kenny Powers? After completely disappearing from the league and sliding into anonymity 4 years ago Kenny made a return to organized baseball last year pitching for a rag tag team in Mexico. He's now back in the minors throwin heat for the Myrtle Beach Mermen trying to smoke me into the big leagues once again. His next start should be televised on HBO this Sunday at 10 pm, check him out. Your F***in OUT !
  7. ^Can we just call the park Kentucky Bluegrass Kingdom Boardwalk ?
  8. It will be interesting to see what happens with some of the existing attractions especially Twisted Twins. I know the trains are no longer on site and honestly it wasn't that great of a coaster when it was in operation. That section of the park also seems like an area that would be perfect for an expansion and complete overhaul. I'd love to see the water park expanded to possibly include the old Blizzard River and maybe even Mile High Falls as rides the could be possible be wet/dry water park/amusement park rides. Can't want to see this thing develop.
  9. ^It is crazy after seeing the thousands it takes to run a place like Disney or SeaWorld.....now how do I become one of the 25......
  10. I went to new York in January and saw Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark and Memphis. Spider man wasn't as bad as I was expecting, really a fun show, not great not terrible, but a lot of fun. The sets were really cool, and there were a few really good memorable songs, but other then those songs and when they weren't flying around the theater it got a little slow. Had a fantastic ending though, and was all in all a pretty fun show. Memphis was incredible, seriously one of the best shows I've seen in a long time and probably somewhere in my top 5 favorites. I can't say enough good things about Memphis, if it comes near you go see it. I haven't had a chance to see it yet but I LOVE the soundtrack from the Book of Mormon. It's seriously one of the funniest things I've ever heard. As soon as that thing goes on tour anywhere near me I'm buying the best seats available. It's brilliant!
  11. I think verbolten is going to be the best overall new attraction and Skyrush will probably be the best pure coaster of the new coasters. I also think Manta at SeaWorld San Diego will be a huge surprise, and a lot of fun. Wild Eagle looks like it might not be the most intense coaster in the world but will certainly be a great addition to that park. That's probably the new coaster I have the best chance of actually riding this year so it's my most anticipated.
  12. I love the name, and still think if done right this place can be a real success. I'd love to see the "new" park somehow pay homage to the old Fountain Ferry Park that once existed in Louisville. Most guests probably wouldn't make the connection but could be a nice little historical touch.
  13. I still have a feeling this attraction might be the "surprise hit" of the 2012 coaster season, everything so far looks great.
  14. It would have been more awesome if they had used something other than Vekomas...
  15. Yeah, I would describe the old ending as completely "surreal" , and this one looks even more over the top and crazy!
  16. Great video Robb, I'm surprised they let you take that much footage of a "new" show. The show looks great, seems like they've kept a lot of the old classic bits and added some new high tech stuff, I can't wait to get down there and see it. Did they still have the rotating carousel man statue thing in the front of the theater like before? That was always a cool scene, hope they kept it. Edit: For anyone in the Orlando area still in school, the Blue Man Group offers an incredible student discount. If you go to box office in person the day of the show you can buy two tickets per college ID for that nights show for $34 a piece, kind of how a lot of theaters in NYC do their Rush tickets. The tickets are subject to availability of course, but i would like think that there would be plenty of tickets available for most week nights shows during the off season, check it out. www.blueman.com/tickets/orlando/student-rush-tickets/
  17. I wish a major water park would build a ride like this, would be a perfect addition.
  18. Is it just me or do the people in the artist rendering look a lot like penguins?
  19. Oh cool, thanks! I actually think I had seen that before, I was looking for a a artist rendering or the layout or something which i haven't seen anywhere yet, but oh well. Still looks like it will be good coaster, and a nice addition to Port Aventura's lineup.
  20. This thing looks great, I really love the color scheme on it. I know B&M Hyper/Speed coasters aren't the enthusiasts communities favorites to ride but they sure are impressive in pictures! Was there ever a layout picture of this thing posted anywhere? I don't remember seeing one anywhere.
  21. I always thought that if they just had the lights in that room a little brighter where you could actually see the Yeti before your underneath him and gone would greatly enhance that section without having to slow it down.
  22. How long until Disney goes to a pay system like every other park in the world? I'm not crazy about the idea, I think fastpass is one of the features of a Disney park that separates it from other parks but there is probably a TON of money to be made if they charged for a fast pass. I've always wondered what would happen if every guest that entered a park was give a specific number of fast pass tickets that could be used at any time at any attraction they choose, something like 2 to 4 fast passes per guest per day per park (or maybe like 7 passes per day per park hopper). I feel like a system like that would allow each guests to pick the 3 or 4 attractions they want to see the most and know they can experience those attractions at their leisure with a minimal wait, and would then have to use the stand by line for everything else. Most guests would pick the larger E-Ticket attractions (like Tower and Rock n Roller Coaster and Space Mountain and Everest) that are high capacity attractions anyways, so everyone using the fastpasses throughout the day probably wouldn't make the standby line that outrageous. But for rides like Peter Pan that aren't as popular and have a much lower capacity the standby line might not be as ridiculous as it is with the fastpasses being distributed. Just an idea I've always had for a different system, it would obviously take a lot more research to properly refine the system (maybe only offer a 30 minute window every hour that the passes can be used). I don't mind a standby line, but I also like to know that on a trip to a Disney Park I'm going to get an opportunity to experience the 3 or 4 attractions I really want to experience without having to spend over half my day in line. Guess fast pass has just spoiled me a little over the years.
  23. ^I agree, this might cause some problems but for certain attractions like Soarin and Toy Story Mania strict enforcement of the time slots might help a little (even though it's pretty difficult to thoroughly enforce it for one ride and not others). No matter how they operate the Fastpass system there are going to be advantages and disadvantages.
  24. Kentucky Kingdom wasn't always a terrible park, it had it's years where it was a actually pretty decent. I'm fairly skeptical of this project but I do think that if the right plan is executed properly this place can succeed again. I don't know what that plan is exactly whether its a new water park, expanded amusement park, down sized amusement park I don't know but I think there is enough of a local market to support a park again.
  25. Due to this age's immense popularity someone should start a favorite "You Might Be A Redneck" thread
