  1. ^ I don't know if this is completely true, but I heard somewhere that if they don't trim the train at the MCBR, it hits the final brake run too hard and it messes up the ride's computer. Besides, the trims don't need to be completely turned off to make it better. When I rode Wild Thing in late September this year, about half of the MCBR trims were turned off, and therefore I had some of my best Wild Thing rides ever. If only they'd run it like that more often.
  2. While new WT trains wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, I'm on the side of no new trains for now. I would much rather have that money invested in other things at the park. Besides, I remember hearing Robb say in TPR's POV of SD2000 with B&M trains "That is the new and improved but sort of feels exactly the same Steel Dragon 2000", and if Wild Thing is going to feel exactly the same with new trains, then what's the point? Maybe sometime in the future when the trains are nearing the end of their operational lifespan it could be possible, but for now, I think WT is fine with what it has.
  3. Granted, because it now doesn't work anymore. I wish I could fly.
  4. Yep, I unfortunately don't see B&M trains on Wild Thing for those reasons Lareson mentioned, especially the height limit. Even though Wild Thing isn't the most amazing hyper, I'd still be bummed if I wasn't able to ride it anymore. I'd rather see Change redesign and retrack the turnaround because WT is quite thrilling from the drop to the third hill, but after that, it's still fun but it just doesn't match up. Then again, a redesigning/retracking might not be possible because I have no idea whether or not the current trains and the track Chance would use are compatible. I also don't know if the Lightning Run-style trains would work either, but hopefully they could.
  5. I choose too much force because for me, the more g-force, the better. Even though some people prefer not to be pinned to their seat, I really love it. Super-intense elements like Manta's pretzel loop and overall forceful rides like Batman clones are my kind of thing . It bugs me a bit when some people call coaster A forceless and the complain about coaster B being too intense. I say choose one or the other.
  6. 8/10 - Pretty good Top 10 and wishlist.
  7. Granted, but just one time. After that, it's back to crappy music. I wish it was still coaster season.
  8. ...when you lead the student section in the "roller coaster" at a football or basketball game, you move your body to the layout of an actual coaster.
  9. Even though this technically might not be considered "neutering", Viper at SFGAm slows to a crawl at the top of the lift hill where it's barely moving. I think this is mainly done for dramatic effect rather than neutering, but I'd still love to see how much better it would be if they sent it off the lift hill at a faster speed . Excalibur at Valleyfair has four trim brakes on the first drop, but it is a pretty jerky ride, so this one instance where trims are not necessarily evil.
  10. Granted, but they aren't sold in your part of the country. I wish I could ride Wicked Cyclone next year.
  11. They probably retweeted it because a few days ago they retweeted a post from NoLimits showing someone's recreation of Valleyfair (which is actually pretty good). I wouldn't read into it.
  12. At VF, my last ride of the day is almost always on Steel Venom, except for my last trip of the season, when it's Renegade. I also tend to take a lot of pictures while I'm on my way out.
  13. ^ Well, Canada's Wonderland did just remove SkyRider this year, and I don't know if that spot is where their 2016 coaster is going, but I don't know why they'd remove a coaster two years in a row unless they had a good reason to. I've been confused by this too. Minneapolis-St. Paul is the 16th largest metro area in the U.S., so Valleyfair being the size it is seems a bit odd, considering that metro areas like Cincinnati, Charlotte, and Richmond are all smaller but have arguably better CF parks.
  14. I don't understand why people want Wild Thing's train to be switched out. Sure, it's a bathtub on wheels, but it's not uncomfortable. Yeah, I don't think that new trains would make Wild Thing that much better. I'd rather have Chance come in and redesign the turnaround to make it more forceful and exciting, or give the ride a new braking system that would allow them to not trim it so hard at the MCBR. They should at least do something of that sort to it because I think that the GP is getting bored with Wild Thing. All the time I hear people on the final brake run saying stuff like "That wasn't so bad" and "Renegade/Steel Venom is better".
  15. ^ While I see where you're coming from on the SLC statement, I don't think it's a likely scenario. With the exception of World's of Fun's Boomerang back in 2000, all of the Cedar Fair Vekomas were acquired in park buyouts. Someone did suggest a while back that CF should relocate Flight Deck from CW to VF, but what's the point of relocating a 20-year-old SLC? Maybe a new SLC wouldn't be that bad since some have said that the newer ones don't try to murder you. Still, I can think of a bunch of other realistic coaster choices I'd rather have before an SLC. Wasn't aware until now that the 2016 coaster budget would be split among the smaller parks. Good to know.
  16. Since this construction is going along a lot faster than I thought it would, I guess we probably don't have to worry about it not being ready for Opening Day unless something happens between now and then. I don't think Fury 325 will be as good as the Intamin gigas (MF, i305), but it will still be awesome, and could quite possibly become a Top 10 ride.
  17. I have actually never been in that changing room, but if people really do have to wait for the private stalls, then they should probably add more, especially with all of the extra traffic Soak City will be getting next year. Also, I don't know about you guys, but I'm hoping for a Chance Hyper GT-X in the near future because I've seen Lightning Run pop up on several users' Top 10 lists, and a Top 10 coaster at Valleyfair would be a dream come true . I've hear rumors that Cedar Fair might want to put one in at Michigan's Adventure, and if they did, hopefully they could do the same thing here. Yeah, it wouldn't have any inversions, but I think we all know that you don't need inversions to have a great coaster. Plus, even thought coaster enthusiasts aren't VF's main audience, a Hyper GT-X would probably attract a lot more out-of-state enthusiasts than a B&M invert (it would have to be a really unique invert IMO). I think this video sums up why I'd want one...
  18. Granted, but everyone goes to the park before the game, so the lines are huge. I wish DarienLaker and DonGeorge wouldn't take over all the games in the random forum.
  19. When a popular Facebook page posts about a new roller coaster, I always seem to find a bunch of pro-Cedar Point comments along the lines of "Nothing compares to Cedar Point" and "Only a matter of time until Cedar Point blows this out of the water!" My point is that I'm glad that the GP knows that Cedar Point is an amazing park, but I don't like how they think that Cedar Point is the only park that has kick-butt coasters .
  20. Granted, but now you have to take them all in one day . I wish Valleyfair would have a longer operating season.
  21. ...eventually a group of coaster enthutsiasts teamed up to try to turn all of the Marine Corp Training Camps back into their original parks. They were successful, but Six Flags America remained a training camp because...
