  1. ^ Never knew that those buildings near the grassy area were the employee dorms. I always thought they were behind High Roller, but I guess not. Anyway, the digging in that area could mean that they're looking to expand the parking lot. I'll keep an eye on that area whenver I go to the park this season.
  2. ...you think roller coasters should be used as a form of transportation.
  3. If they're able to, I think they should relocate Ozark Wildcat over to Silver Dollar City just so they're not letting a nice GCI sit dormant, or maybe they could give it to Wild Adventures (also owned by Herschend) since they don't have any real standout coasters.
  4. Yep, it is. I enjoy discussing the park as much as everyone else here, but let's keep our speculations within reality. Hmm... sounds like you're talking about the land in this general vicinity? If I'm right, then they're digging awfully close to the river. It's a little too early to guess exactly what's going on.
  5. I could see MiA adding a Chance Hypercoaster in the near future as long as it isn't too expensive, since they're one of the few Cedar Fair parks without a hyper, although it should probably be more of a hyper-twister than an out-and-back hyper because they already have a large out-and-back style coaster (Shivering Timbers). A Hyper GT-X would work just as well though.
  6. I don't believe Cedar Fair has bought any coasters from Premier Rides (all of their Premier coasters were acquired in the Paramount buyout), but if they did, I could see them putting in something similar to Full Throttle, though I doubt it would be anything record-breaking. All of the slide landings seem to be in place now. I also noticed that they ripped out the pavement from part of the Mad Mouse queue, so they must be repaving that too.
  7. I guess it might not be impossible to get a giga coaster sometime down the line, but I really don't think we should speculate about 20 years in the future right now because who knows what Valleyfair will be like by then?
  8. Insurgent - It was not as good as the first movie, but I still thought it was decent. It had a completely different feel from Divergent, which I liked. I found the first half to be pretty boring, but it became more interesting later on. It was visually appealing with some good graphics. The acting was pretty average. Shailene Woodley and Kate Winslet were the only decent performances in my opinion. Based on how it all ended, I really don't feel the need to split the last book into two films. Overall, decent movie, and I'd recommend it if you enjoyed the first one. Grade: B-
  9. Good to know that it will have the three-car train. Should help with capacity at least a little bit.
  10. The thing is, at the rate Michigan's Adventure is going, they really shouldn't be removing any of their rides, even if it is just a Trabant. Since they've removed Falling Star and possibly Trabant without a direct replacement, I hope the park can at least get a replacement for one of them in 2016. Just wondering, do you think it's possible that MiA could get a Planet Snoopy in the near future? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they're the only Cedar Fair park without a Planet/Camp Snoopy now that CGA is getting one.
  11. Just a thought, it has been suggested on here that VF could possibly get a floorless coaster in the near future, but to be honest, I'd actually prefer a B&M sitdown over a floorless coaster. This is because I generally hear better things about sitdown coasters than most floorless coasters (ex. Kumba/Hulk/Dragon Khan better than Kraken/Bizarro/Superman: Krypton). Maybe not the most likey scenario since it has been a while since the last sitdown coaster was built, but not impossible either.
  12. Hmm... some parts of the midway don't look much wider than they used to be. I don't know if traffic flow will be much better than in the past.
  13. ^ Possessed at Dorney Park is the only other impulse coaster that uses a holding brake. Vertical Velocity at SFGAm no longer uses its holding brake due to maintenance issues.
  14. I hope it's just the speed of the video, but it seems to be going a little slower than in the previous test runs I've seen.
  15. I hate to say this, but every time I hear something new about Tempesto, it seems to go farther downhill. There really isn't much hope I have left for it .
  16. Inversions on Excalibur? Be careful what you wish for .
  17. ^ I know they aren't going to alter any of the coasters' track anytime soon, I just think that another twisting spike would be ideal. Drove through Shakopee earlier today and I could see the top of the slide tower from 169; just another sign of how tall it is . Sorry, no pictures.
  18. ^ Eh, black and purple would seem like a strange color combination for Steel Venom. If I could make any change to Steel Venom, I would remove the straight spike and replace it with another twisting spike, similar to Wicked Twister. I've never been a huge fan of the holding brake because if you're a male, you have to position yourself, or else it isn't a very pleasant moment.
  19. Found this photo on BGW Insider's Facebook page of a Tempesto car. I have to say, those OTSRs don't look very comfortable .
  20. Both have Vekoma SLCs. Geauga Lake and Lake Compounce.
  21. ^ Adventureland (Iowa): This park really needs a new roller coaster. I get that it's a smaller independent park, but it has been 19 years since their last coaster, and 22 years since their last thrilling coaster, which is pretty sad. Even something like a Euro-Fighter would do wonders for this park.
  22. From Dave Frazier's Twitter, the views from the top of the tower. May really needs to come faster .
