  1. All of this joking about a jungle-themed ride makes me think that an RMC terrain woodie that goes through the trees in the back of the park would be an awesome addition. Probably won't happen since we need a steel coaster right now, but I'd still love to see one.
  2. Exactly. I think the biggest thing I've learned about Valleyfairzone is to take all of their rumors with a grain of salt. They even suggested last summer that we would be getting something like Cars Land at Disney California Adventure. Don't know where they got that idea .
  3. Yep, I doubt that what used to be Six Flags New Orleans will ever be an amusement park again. I do think that New Orleans could use a new amusement park, and I don't know how much this would help, but they should probably build one farther inland so that it would have a better chance of surviving if New Orleans had another Katrina-like hurricane.
  4. Well, even though we do have Nickelodeon Universe, I usually only go once or twice a year, so it feels like an off-season for me. Even though Nick Universe is a fun park for what it is, I much prefer Valleyfair to it. Also, I'm aware that the speculation in this thread can get a bit unrealistic sometimes, but that's true for a lot of other threads. Besides, we'd go crazy if we didn't spend the offseason speculating about random things.
  5. ^ Yep. After seeing this, I'm sure the previous tweet was probably a joke.
  6. Just saw that Charlotte is expected to get 5-8 inches of snow tonight, so it's a good bet that we won't see any Fury 325 test runs until at least next week. Although, this could make for some nice pictures of Fury 325 covered in snow.
  7. Even though Valleyfairzone is known for posting a lot of sarcastic/satirical content, I thought it was worth sharing. Don't know if it is suggesting that they're already site planning, but if it is, I'd be very surprised if that's true because it is awfully early for that, and they'd probably want to focus on finishing the waterpark construction.
  8. I though they already used the gazebo stage for a few shows and not just bad karaoke. Do you think this means anything?
  9. ...when searching for hotels, you always try to find one that has a water park/water slides.
  10. Heavy snow where I am right now. Could someone please come and take it?
  11. I highly doubt they'll be using the amphitheater because it is out of code and would be unsafe to use. Even if it was up to code and still in use, it doesn't help that it's located right next to Wild Thing's loud mid-course brakes. As for the blog, I'm happy to see it up, and hopefully it will have a video component eventually since they tweeted about that. It's nice that Valleyfair is starting to interact with it's fans more.
  12. Just wondering, do you guys think Cedar Point should have a waterpark expansion sometime in the next few years? I just looked at list of attractions at Soak City, and while it's not a bad lineup, you'd think it would have a bit more to do, considering it's the waterpark at the chain's flagship park. I think they could use a slide tower with trapdoor slides similar to the ones at the smaller CF parks because in recent years, trapdoor slides have become an expectation at most decent-sized water parks. A ProSlide Tornado would also be a good choice since those have become pretty popular. Or, is there a reason that they haven't done too much with the water park? Do they not have enough space, or is it not popular enough?
  13. ^ I'd assume that those are being used to set up the infrastructure for that part of the waterpark.
  14. Photo of the construction site from Dave Frazier. They still have quite a bit of work to do (only 3 months until Soak City opens).
  15. ^ The closest hotels are probably the ones off the 169 exit near McDonalds, and I don't know if any of them have transportation to the park, MOA, or MSP. I don't think transportation to the park from the hotels is necessary because Valleyfair really isn't a park that requires an overnight stay in town (unless you're coming from out of state).
  16. Diamondback. And sorry, but a Gatekeeper-esque entrance isn't going to happen. Not on their budget, and Cedar Point will always have the biggest/best of the new additions/upgrades. Nothing against Valleyfair; it's just how it is. Sure, a Gatekeeper-like entrance (with pillars and everything) probably won't happen, but I don't see why you couldn't have a coaster element go over the entrance like with Fury 325. For example, if it's an invert, it could have a zero-G roll over the entrance plaza.
  17. Would not mind seeing The Wave go for a new ride if necessary because there are usually more people watching The Wave than riding or waiting for it. I'd rather see it get removed than RipTide.
  18. Except for when it was down the first few weeks of last season, RipTide has fairly good reliablility (at least from my experience). I'm indifferent on what they do with RipTide. I don't love it and I don't hate it. Wouldn't be surprised to see it go since it never has more than a one or two cycle wait, even on hot days.
  19. ...you know a coaster's layout so well that you could ride it blindfolded and have no surprises.
  20. I haven't ridden Prowler yet (I might ride it later this year), but the general consensus from others seems to be that Prowler is a better ride, but Renegade is not far behind. I personally think that Renegade is a really awesome ride and by far the best ride in the park. It was my #1 wooden coaster until last August.
  21. Got this picture of a Rougarou car from Cedar Point News (Twitter). Looking good.
  22. Carowinds confirmed via Facebook comments that they will record a video of Fury 325's first test run next week (probably just off-ride footage and not a POV). Once it is posted, the complaining will begin .
  23. Haven't ridden Maverick yet either, but now that it is getting new restraints, it could certainly become a lot of people's new favorite coaster at the Point. I wonder if this means that Cedar Fair might start working with Intamin again for new rides, although this is just a restraint change.
