  1. It's 64 degrees here! Breaking out the shorts and enjoying the unusually warm weather. Can Valleyfair open early this year?
  2. Granted, but they show ends up being horrible. I wish for all of the snow to melt.
  3. A coaster being demolished. What's worse than marathoning an SLC?
  4. On the bright side, Arrow still made some very fun rides. I won't be riding any coasters until mid-May.
  5. GP Facebook comments about Goliath at SFGAm: -Wooden coasters suck. Who likes being beat to death and feeling like you can fall out at any moment? It's 2014. Enough crap already. -With all the friction that will come from the movement of the rollercoaster, I wouldn't be surprised if a fire breakout on the wooden structure. It might even break, but I am sure people will still hop on like a fool, believing inspectors that say it is safe as ever! -Won't see me on that ride!!! Final destination for real. -the hell would the build a wooden coaster ? -that looks like a disaster waiting to happen, they should call it the Titantic instead. -Nothing but a lap bar and it goes upside down. Not sure I want my son on this thing! Yikes. I am sticking with Raging Bull. -This is a disaster in the waiting wood is not made to withstand curves and twist that steel could. These people are crazy you will see in the future. They are gonna get the ride of there life!!!! -This ride is a death trap waiting to happen and its sad this obviously is a sign I'm done with rollercoasters after seeing and reading how many of the incidents on them go unreported is just sad -Ride is doomed... tear it down and save yourself a lawsuit Gotta love the GP...
  6. ...when planning a summer vacation with the family, your first priority is making sure there's a theme park nearby.
  7. Looks like Renegade is getting some more retracking/trackwork. Glad to see them taking good care of the best ride in the park. From Valleyfair's Twitter.
  8. Granted, but your copy of the game ends up defective. I wish for my Carowinds-Dollywood trip to come faster.
  9. Having a heat wave here.
  10. I wouldn't buy into the Screamscape rumors. They were rumoring a while back that we'd receive a Mondial Frisbee in addition to the flyers, but that obviously didn't happen.
  11. Knott's Berry Farm recently announced the removal of their RipTide. That combined with Dorney removing theirs last year makes me think Valleyfair's might be next on the chopping block. I've noticed that it has probably the most downtime of any ride in the park, not to mention it rarely has a line, even on hot days. Thoughts?
  12. ...you keep your season pass in your wallet at all times, even during the offseason.
  13. Granted, but the park removes Screamin Eagle before they can play the recorded announcement. I wish for my college's hockey team to win this weekend.
  14. I visited both Kings Island and Cedar Point in the same day with my platinum pass and they never said anything to me about it, so I'm sure it's legal.
  15. From my experience, it seems that the ride ratings (at least at Cedar Fair parks) are based on how intimidating a ride looks to your average parkgoer. For example, at my home park Valleyfair, Corkscrew (a fun but tame Arrow Loopscrew) is rated a 5, while Renegade (the GCI woodie that's much more intense than Corkscrew) is only rated a 4. While Renegade offers a much more thrilling experience, I've noticed that most of the GP find Corkscrew more intimidating simply because it has inversions.
  16. Well, I decided to scratch Cedar Point from my 2016 itinerary in favor of a Carowinds-Dollywood trip, so I guess I'm now most excited to ride Lightning Rod, which looks completely insane and could potentially become my new #1 coaster. Even though it's not a "new for 2016" coaster, I'm also very excited to ride Fury 325.
  17. Which building is the ball factory?
  18. I was at the park during the second week of June last year. Most of the A-list coasters (Millennium, Maverick, Dragster, and a few others) usually had a 30 to 60-minute wait, while most of the other coasters/rides were normally station waits (no longer than 15 minutes). You should be okay if you wait until you get to the park to buy Fast Lane/Fast Lane Plus since I bought mine 30 minutes after park opening with no problem. The Fast Lane merge point depends on the ride. Some rides merge with the regular line before the station and you'll still have to wait 10-15 minutes (includes Millennium, Dragster, Gatekeeper, Wicked Twister, Rougarou), while some merge directly at the station (Raptor, Maverick, Mean Streak).
  19. Finalized trip plans: Already Visted Nickelodeon Universe Definitely Valleyfair Adventureland Arnolds Park Carowinds Dollywood Worlds of Fun Maybe Six Flags Great America
  20. I've just confirmed that I'll be heading down to Charlotte this May to visit Carowinds . A few questions... 1) I'll likely be visiting the park on May 19th and 20th (Thursday and Friday). How busy should I expect the park to be? 2) In what order should I hit the coasters/rides? 3) For lodging, I'm looking at the cluster of hotels just south of the park in Fort Mill. Any of those in particular that you'd recommend, and are those hotels within walking distance of the park? 4$ Anything else I should know?
  21. Breakers Express is a pretty basic hotel, nothing too special about it, but it worked for me and it's probably a lot better than most of the other cheap motels near the park. I'd recommend it since it's cheaper than the other Cedar Point hotels, but you'll still get the same benefits.
  22. Probably not, I don't think a dark ride could fit in the Galaxy Theatre building unless it was a very short ride. If/when they get a dark ride, I think they should remove The Wave for it.
  23. Quoted for truth.
