  1. SpongeBob at MOA in mid-November.
  2. So now that the 2018 U.S. Premier SkyRocket II is confirmed to be going to SeaWorld San Diego, I guess that means we won't be seeing one at Worlds of Fun. That's too bad, it would have helped round out the park's coaster lineup a lot, but oh well.
  3. Banshee and Fury 325 have two of my favorite entrance signs.
  4. I don't think we'll be seeing a new coaster at VF until 2020 at the earliest, possibly later. Dinos Alive is the only place that makes sense to put a coaster at the moment, and it sounds like the Dinos will be here through at least 2019. The waterpark parking lot & new service road, if approved, is likely going to cost quite a lot as well. Thanks, my pleasure!
  5. They added some more pieces to the puzzle today. I can already tell it's looking much nicer than the old front gate.
  6. ^ False, top five ride for me. < Has worked at an amusement park. V Has also worked at a park.
  7. At Valleyfair, I usually go straight to Renegade, but every now and then it'll be Wild Thing. At Nick Universe, it's almost always SpongeBob Rock Bottom Plunge.
  8. Valleyfair and Nick Universe definitely do compete to some extent, though I don't think the competition is quite as fierce as some suggest. Both parks have different clientele visiting for different reasons. The vast majority of VF's visitors live in the park's primary market and are obviously going there to experience an amusement park. Meanwhile, Mall of America attracts a lot of tourists and most guests visiting Nick Universe aren't going to the mall strictly for the park (I'm sure some do, though I can't imagine it's a very high number).
  9. ^ While the Twin Cities are larger than Charlotte, North and South Carolina have a combined population of about 15 million, while Minnesota only has a population of 5.5 million. Add in a few million more to account for potential visitors from Wisconsin, Iowa, & the Dakotas, and VF's market is still considerably smaller than Carowinds.
  10. Photo of VF's Corkscrew and Power Tower in the snow. From VF's Facebook.
  11. Yeah, I don't see High Roller getting RMC'd or removed anytime soon. It's too much of a park classic to be removed, and the ride's layout as it is doesn't look like it has much RMC potential.
  12. Already reapplied for ride operator for next season. I had a great time working Wild Thing last season and look forward to hopefully doing it again.
  13. Greezed Lightnin' Six Flags Great America
  14. We're forecasted to have a low of 28 degrees below zero tonight... I'd better not hear anyone down south complaining about 50 degrees being cold.
  15. 1) Diamondback 2) Magnum XL-200 3) Raging Bull 4) Mamba 5) Intimidator 6) Wild Thing
  16. Haven't been yet but Goliath looks like the best. Worlds of Fun
  17. Guessing we probably won't be seeing any more construction/testing until March/April now that winter is kicking in, though all they really have left to do is pour concrete for the platform/queue line and install the ride's control system.
  18. I always wear cargo shorts during my summer park visits because they keep all of my valuables safe while riding and I don't have to worry about using the bins. If I'm visiting a park on a cold day, I usually wear a jacket with zipper pockets as an alternative to the cargo shorts.
  19. California: California Screamin' Florida: Dragon Challenge (Blue) Illinois: Goliath Iowa: Tornado Minnesota: Renegade Missouri: Prowler North Carolina: Fury 325 Ohio: Millennium Force South Carolina: Afterburn Tennessee: Lightning Rod
