I think some might be mis-understand that issues here with the original concept of DCA. Many people, including myself, did not like the original concept because it was trying to be relevant, hip, and edgy. Which we all know was not a good choice. Changing the park to reflect different eras of California's past was a great idea and it fixed that areas where it was actually implemented. I was so happy when they made all these changes; they started to fix the park! It had a clear direction and made sense. They removed Condor Flats and expanded the Mountain region. Cars Land now represented the Desert. A nice Sea side Pier, a Wharf, and Hollywood. There was more work to be done, yes, but it seems to be headed in a great direction. Now, I didn't like what they announced at D23 with Pixar Pier. I don't care if they build more Pixar Rides in the area. But I really love the 1920's Seaside Pier vibe they were going for. BUT, it was only one piece of concept art, which is not to be relied upon. If they can infuse the area with Pixar, and not make it look like a Toy Story Land then I think it will be fine. But some things still cause issues, like the Little Mermaid, the Face on Mickey's Fun Wheel which has become the park Icon (kinda). We'll have to see what they have planned. I light infusion would be cool, use Pixar characters instead of the Classic Disney ones, and keep the 1920's pier feel. But, I hope its not this....

The bar code at the bottom changed with the new system. It is the same as your park admission bar code now. So, you can still scan your FP Ticket like you used to, but Disney is trying to get people to use their park tickets. It is believed that they will one day stop handing out paper fast passes, or stop printing the bar codes on them at least.

The Legacy FP system used to have a 40 minute buffer for the distribution time. Meaning when the park opened in the morning, the first available FP Return time was 40 later. This buffer has been removed, and that did two things to how guests interact with the system. First, as you mentioned, some rides have return times that are very short, or immediate. This is happening because the attraction is passing out more FP per 5 Minute time block then what guests are taking. So, every 5 minutes, a new batch of FP are available. It demonstrates how many people don't know how to use FP, and don't understand the system. Second, removing that 40 minute buffer allows for the attraction to hand out more FP during the day. A total of....40 Minutes worth of FP, haha. So in regards to what you saw at Racers, that could have been part of the reason why, but how busy the park is would be the main reason. Saturdays are less busy then Friday or Sundays right now because most Annual Passholders are blocked out then. So, the park is mostly full of actual tourists. And that circles back to my first point, of people (mainly tourists) don't know how to use FP. We'll have to see how Max Pass affects these two things. It will likely mean that more people will use FP if they don't have to walk all the way over to the attraction. Also, as a side note: I also don't like taking my Pass out to use Fp. I get nervous that I will somehow lose it. But, there are a couple solutions! If you have the Disneyland App, and are an Annual Passholder, you can add your pass to the app! This is what I did when the App first launched. It stores your bar-code, and you can use it for scanning your FP when you return to an attraction since you use your park ticket now! Or, if you don't have the App, or a pass, take a good, clear, picture of your park ticket. It works exactly the same. Better still, put that picture as your phones lock screen, and then you don't even have to unlock your phone!

First, it is Disney and it is their ride; not your college or high school history lesson. You didn't go to Disney or on the ride to learn. You're there to be entertained. Also, what they are changing the scene to is ALSO historically accurate. Finally, the new scene looks just as good (and will probably be better) then the old. Sooo, this argument doesn't really hold up.

I know the same thing happens to the FPs on the Haunted Mansion, where if you get your pass at 11 a.m. the return time is 11 a.m. I don't quite understand what's going on myself, but I'd agree that it's probably just a few kinks they're still working out. Still, can't wait for that Maxpass! No more having to run full speed to get a Fastpass! I don't think it's a glitch. They're doing that on a bunch of rides, and the times are listed in the app for reach ride distributing FP. I think they're testing how it will affect crowd control. At the moment there is now cool down period for this, so if a ride is currently at the FP tier of "ride right now", you can keep getting them and ride over and over.... It is not a glitch. The FP System used to have a 40 minute buffer for the return time that was removed when they switched over to the new system. Also, we have some concept art for the new Splitsville coming to Downtown Disney! Take a Look! Splitsville Luxury Lanes Taking Shape in Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort John McClintock by John McClintock, Disneyland Resort Public Relations Regular visitors to the Downtown Disney District at the Disneyland Resort may already have observed the ongoing stages of construction for Splitsville Luxury Lanes, a family-friendly restaurant with a unique combination of dining, bowling and live entertainment scheduled to open this winter. Now it’s time to really start thinking about how we’re going to rock (with the live entertainment) and roll (on the Splitsville lanes). Above, we have an illustration of what Splitsville Luxury Lanes will look like when it welcomes its first guests. The development team is creating a spectacular environment which will fuse modern and retro elements for a lively yet comfortable atmosphere to please guests of all ages. The 40,000-square-foot, two-story facility will be brightened with floor-to-ceiling windows, ample outdoor seating in an expansive patio overlooking Downtown Disney District, two state-of-the-art kitchens, and live entertainment daily. Like its counterparts throughout the U.S.A., Splitsville Luxury Lanes at Downtown Disney District will be a dynamic recreation destination offering a unique combination of dining, drinks, bowling and entertainment. Features include 20 bowling lanes interspersed throughout the location, four dining areas (indoors and out), two billiards tables, more than 25 flat screen TVs, and the ability to host both live performers and DJs. The eclectic Splitsville menu will mix lane favorites like hand-tossed pizza and gourmet burgers with chef-driven specialties like grilled avocado with ahi tuna and filet sliders. And later this year, when the time comes for rockin’ and rollin’ at the newest Downtown Disney District destination, you should try a Splitsville specialty … fresh-rolled sushi, including the signature Splitsville “Fantasy Roll.” Disney Parks Blog
