  1. They should have never painted it yellow with Nitro right next to it and just kept the track black.
  2. I don't know if they would use a single rider line well. When I rode Skyrush, I was a single rider and there were 3 people waiting for row 2 so I thought I would be put in their row when I got to the ride op assigning rows. Instead I was told to go to row 7 and no one else was sent there so I had the whole row to myself. If there had been a long line, I could see that being annoying to see all those empty seats going out.
  3. It's like that with Nitro's lifthill too. You can see log flume boats, rafts from the rapids, some of the old Looney Tunes Seaport figures, a Glow in the Park parade float and some other stuff. I don't mind it too much but I hated seeing the parade float out there all rusty since I was disappointed when the got rid of the parade.
  4. Out of all of the decisions that have been made at this park over the years, this is by far the most disappointing for me. There is a ton of potential over there. Heck, even if they just opened it up just so there is another route to get over to MovieTown that would be great. I really liked the feel of the area walking through there. It was like old Great Adventure, and now it is all closed off. It is really disappointing. I agree. Even without a lot of rides in the area I really liked the Old Country section of the park. I know they aren't going to reopen Autobahn with new bumper cars and Music Express isn't in operating condition but it would be nice if they bought a couple of flat rides and put them in those spots and re-opened the area.
  5. I would buy a lifetime pass for a chain like Six Flags or Cedar Fair. Even if they charged over $1000 - $2000 it would be worth it to me. If I buy a Dorney pass for 2014, that is $810 I have spent so far since 2006 on season passes (averaging $90 a year) and I don't see myself not buying season passes to the local parks anytime soon.
  6. Cedar Fair: Talon Six Flags: Nitro SeaWorld Entertainment: Montu Universal: Dueling Dragons Fire Disney Parks: Expedition Everest
  7. Boomerang? - Sea Serpent at Morey's, August 2005 Invertigo? - Stinger at Dorney, April 2012 SLC? - Great Nor'Easter at Morey's, August 2005 Roller Skater? - Barnstormer at Magic Kingdom, December 1996
  8. I have only ridden coasters in the US and Canada. Unfortunately I was just starting to ride coasters when I went to Canada so the only coasters I rode in Canada were Ghoster Coaster at Canada's Wonderland and a Zamperla Dragon at Centreville
  9. Definitely: Great Adventure Dorney Gillian's Wonderland Pier Playland's Castaway Cove Likely: Hersheypark Hopefully: Knoebels I'm also hopeful I'll get some unplanned park trips in next year. Like this past season, I ended up going to Kennywood when my family took a trip to Pittsburgh which was a last minute trip.
  10. That's how the lift was when I rode the coaster at the end of October as well.
  11. I have ridden a bunch of kiddie coasters, sometimes as solo rider. That's not too bad I guess since they have been coasters that don't have a maximum height requirement. I need every credit I can get.
  12. All I bring is my wallet, keys, and phone. I have shorts with zippered pockets so I don't have to worry about losing anything while riding a coaster.
  13. Every year I hope they eventually consider it. They could have just one side of the park open with the flats in Adventure Alley and Lakefront open, Safari Kids and Looney Tunes Seaport plus Skull Mountain and The Dark Knight.
  14. Yeah I was hoping Great Adventure would be open. I know they have the Wine Festival going on but even if only limited rides were open I still would have gone to the park.
  15. They used to have Halloweekends before Haunt but it was a much smaller event. There were only 2 or 3 Haunted attractions.
  16. Tonight was the most crowded of the all the Friday night Fright Fest trips to the park I went to this year but that was to be expected since the last weekend is always the most crowded. Line weren't too bad though. The only real long line I waited in was season pass processing for 40 minutes, other than that I waited 20 minutes for Green Lantern and Nitro, 10 minutes for Kingda Ka and less than 10 minutes for everything else. Nitro had trains dispatching around every 70 seconds.
  17. Batman The Ride at Great Adventure around 90 minutes ago. Last coaster ride of the year.
  18. I'm going with Six Flags for a few reasons. Season Pass prices are cheaper, they have better season pass perks like bring a friend free coupons, they have longer operating seasons (near me Great Adventure opened 6 weeks earlier than Dorney this year) and Six Flags almost always allows re-rides when rows on coasters are empty.
  19. Comet at Hersheypark last night.
  20. You were right about the lines/crowds. Other than Storm Runner at around 15 minutes because 1 train was running and 15 minutes for Comet, everything else was a walk on or at the most 5 minutes. I never walked right onto Fahrenheit before and was surprised Skyrush was only a 5 minute wait.
  21. Around 4 or 5 years ago I heard there were 35,000 on a Saturday when the main lot, overflow lot and even Hurricane Harbor lot was full.
  22. It's $8 for 1 trail or $15 for unlimited for the day or $20 for the entire Fright Fest for passholders. I'm not into the Fright Fest trails/mazes but if I were I'd go to Dorney instead where they have around 10 or 11 Haunt attractions and no extra charge. Crowds are much lower today than over the weekend. I just got to the park around 15 minutes ago and the major coasters have 20 to 30 minute waits based on the lines I saw for Superman and Green Lantern from the parking lot and walking past Batman to get to Nitro.
  23. It was relocated to Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay.
  24. If you think you are going to go to the park at least once next year, you are better off buying season passes. A regular season pass is $73 and is good for the rest of this year and all of next year or for $100 you can get the gold pass which includes parking (which would probably be worth it since parking costs $25 a day).
