  3. I remember a picture posted from last year during Fright Fest where not only was the whole queue filled, the overflow queue they set up with ropes and the Glow in the Park parade route trashcans was also full and the line was almost to there area where you lock up items.
  4. Although it wasn't as crowded as last Saturday, there were still a lot of people in the park today. Other than Superman and the Skyway, I don't think anything was more than 20 minutes. Food lines were much better today as well with more windows open. I only waited 10 minutes to get dinner and a few minutes for a snack on the way out of the park. Operations were really good too. Batman was dispatching trains ridiculously fast, when I was on the lift hill of Nitro there was a Batman train getting to the brake run and by the time the Nitro train got to the final hills, another Batman train was getting to the brake run. Even though Superman only had 2 people checking restraints compared to 4 last week, they were almost running to check the restraints.
  5. 2 out of 3 parks changed since my first post in this thread: Dorney Park, 1 hour 10 minutes Knoebels, 1 hour 20 minutes Hersheypark, 1 hour 50 minutes
  6. sooperdooperlooper at Hersheypark
  7. Nitro at Great Adventure a week ago.
  8. Dorney Park 1. Talon 2. Steel Force 3. Hydra 4. Possessed 5. Thunderhawk 6. Wild Mouse 7. Stinger
  9. I think it is supposed to open in Late Spring so probably Memorial Day weekend.
  10. There is no separate for entrance for early entry, sometimes they don't even offer it and you only can enter 10 minutes early with no rides open early. If the arcade by the tea cups is open, you can cut through there to avoid going through the boardwalk. Green Lantern and Joker have single rider lines but both aren't great since they don't start until towards the end of the queue and if the line is long, won't save much time. Zumanjaro's single rider line is better as it starts at the entrance. Green Lantern's single rider line is closed often later in the year too, I don't think it was open at all during November and December last year.
  11. It's also a little rough from the concrete floor and the grooves in the floor from where the wheel run and the annoying lap bars that you have to wait for a ride operator to release. I still ride the Whip when I am at the park and there is no line but the Mangels versions are so much better.
  12. Ocean City's Flitzer along with the Miler Wild Mouse and City Jet at Gillian's all didn't have seatbelts until the accident on the Zamperla Wild Mouse at Gillian's in 1999. It was fun to ride a coadter without any restraints.
  13. Dorney Park this weekend or next weekend depending on the weather.
  14. I like that it still has the little bump after the drop that gives you some air time when the bump on Great Adventure's 2nd flume (the one that was near Skull Mountain) was removed long before the ride was closed.
  15. If it was a park on the Atlantic City boardwalk, I could see it drawing an ok crowd with more stores open year round and the casino visitors plus all the shows and concerts. On the Ocean City boardwalk, other than the Christmas store that is close to the park and an arcade or two, I don't think much is open after this weekend. Maybe they think locals will visit?
  16. As someone who recently moved away from the Philadelphia area with Wawa stores everywhere into an area with just Sheetz and no Wawa locations, I would take Wawa any day, it's not even close. I think I have gone to Sheetz twice in the last 6 months. I sometimes usually stop at Wawa after a Great Adventure or Dorney trip to bring back hoagies for me and other family members that also miss Wawa.
  17. Favorite, Disneyland. If it has to be a standard amusement park then I would pick Cedar Point. Least Favorite, Canobie Lake Park. The park itself was ok with some good rides but the operations were the worst I have ever seen in any park I have been to.
  18. They are allowed on all coasters except El Toro and Joker as long as they don't interfere with the restraint from working properly. "Cell phones, pagers, or other small items must be secured in cargo pockets, zippered jacket pockets, or waist packs*. All loose articles which cannot be secured must be left in a locker or with a non-rider prior to entering the queue line. *Waist packs are not permitted on El Toro." https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/plan-your-visit/park-policies The website hasn't been updated to mention Joker but I saw it on a sign at the ride entrance yesterday.
  19. I just got back from the park and like usual, had a good visit. Skull Mountain was not using VR and it's only being used on Friday - Sunday, I didn't mind since the station was empty and I was able to ride 4 times in a row. The 5th car is no longer blocked off for Flash Pass and now Flash Pass merges in the station at the front. The Flash Pass entrance is under the lift hill and the hallway is not covered so there is a lot of light in the first part of the lift hill area and now the ride area is brighter than ever and you can see most of the track easily (even though it wasn't that difficult to see the track before this change). Dinner and snacks with the dining pass are now valid until 9 p.m. I would still like to see the snack available until closing but at least it's better than 8 p.m. like it was before. Superman was closed the entire day, Kingda Ka was closed part of the time with 2 trains running when it did reopen. Crowds were low for the most part. Joker's line was almost to the 90 minute sign and Kingda Ka had a few switchbacks full but mostly everything else was 20 minutes or less. 2 of the trails were closed and there were no ride greeters at the coaster entrances so bags were allowed to be left in the station.
  20. It likely won't be walk ons but not very crowded either. I went on Rosh Hashannah a few years ago on a Thursday and most rides were 10 to 20 minutes. Kingda Ka was the exception at 45 minutes.
  21. Definitely: Great Adventure Dorney Park Hersheypark Knoebels Probably: Money's Piers Playland's Castaway Cove Possibly: SFNE Lake Compounce
  22. The park isn't open this Friday unless you have a ticket for the buyout.
  23. I could see it being worth it for someone that only visits once a year or less. When I visit a park that I have never been to and know I won't be returning to anytime soon, I am prepared to buy it if the park is crowded.
  24. The reviews of Hurricane Harbor are enough to keep me away. Not enough tubes for the slides and lazy river and people walking through the river sounds annyoing. I have also heard that even with Flash Pass you can wait 15 to 20 minutes on the stairs past the merge points. I'd rather go to Dorney where there are plenty of free tubes for the slides and 2 lazy rivers and more slides overall.
  25. It's probably the 2nd busiest weekend of the year after Columbus Day weekend.
