The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread

Oh, I had the exact same idea! That would allow a much more intense coaster experience as you don't have to carry the simulator base all the way through. -

Top Roller Coaster Myths & Rumors!
KingRCT3 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That one is true, though. The upper wheels can lift off a few inches from the track. I saw a pic that shows that (not to mention the famous one with El Toro). -
That doesn't seem fun nor does it seem practical from an economic and feasibility standpoint. Presurized air helmets like fighter pilots wear would be more practicle than astronaut launch suits. . I know right, I was like "What the..? Why would parks/manufacturers would do that?". High forces are incomfortable way before being dangerous for the body. --- Also, a study said riding coasters is good for asthma.

The problem would be the lenght of the train. A beyond vertical drop need short trains. -
Weird Coaster Facts
KingRCT3 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Actually, in 1995 it opened with the same launch sequence as today. But due to some problems with the TÜV, they had to "split the launch". The problems were corrected for Mission II. In my opinion, it is a horrible ride. It gives headbanging and the first inversion is too forceful in a wrong way (just like Indy's loop). The audio system really doesn't work that well from my experiences. Plus, Mission II totally killed the theming. News trains with new harness are indeed planned, but hey, we're talking about DLP here... Did you know that, during a testing phase, some cast members accidentally dropped a car out of the track? How did they do that? The train was in the station and ready to roll back in the garage in manual mode. Unless the trackswitch was not in the right position! BOOM! The first car dropped and snapped the cables and connections, and the second car was hanging out of the track. The cast members were no fired because it actually showed a failure in the system, but imagine their embarrassment. _______ Unlike all (?) other steel coasters, the Intamin Family Launched Coasters (Juvelen, Jet Rescue and Mick Doohan) have only one wheel per bogie to carry the train, instead of two. Might be clearer with those drawings. -

^ For now, making The Edge into NL2 is not possible sadly... I'll have to wait for an update (and actually learn scripting too, by the way!). Thanks for your comment otherwise! _______________________ Today is the release of Raveen, the RMC Flying Wooden coaster! Download : NoLimits Exchange CoasterCrazy Direct Link Enjoy your flight. -
I love Pantopia's colors! About Falcon, that sounds terrifyingly good. I'm only a little bit disapointed there won't be any announcement before the drop. It's not matching the "storyline". I would have imagined like a Falcon's scream echoes in our ears, and why not a symbol that lights up on the ground, just as if the falcon saw a prey and then diiiiiiiiives!

Most heavily themed theme park

While I'm not sure if I would call it the "Most heavily themed theme park ever", I think Phantasialand deserve to have its name in this thread. -

If that matters, the height restriction for Alpina Blitz (the Mack megalite at Nigloland) will be 140cm. -

The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread

I like it the way it is, because having airtime while facing the ground is one of my favorite feeling, and that's the whole point of this launch (not the mention the plunge right to the ground part). You can find this feeling at the entrance of B&M's pretzel roll, and that's why I love this move. Plus, it has other advantages : When you wait for the launch, you're comfy on your back (build that in the UK if the sun is a problem), and anyways with the track faced the other way, you can't have such hammer launch. -

Not to brag, but have you seen my launched flying concept? It launches the train through a half-circle with that giant hammer thing. (original sit-down design concept by RideTek)
