The bar next to the coaster is actually very nice. Was at the park on Wednesday and the bartender told me the ride was opening this weekend, however I still didn't see a station, well guess this explains it. haha

I also love Mantis the way it is. There's nothing wrong with it IMO and I agree that I've had worse rides on Raptor than on Mantis.

Heading to the park on Friday, shooting for early entry even though I see we may have rain in the morning Hows the rain policy work for Banshee? I know since it's an invert it'll probably be down in the rain but just wondering as I've lucked out every time I've gone to KI with no rain. haha

I completely agree with your B&M flyer points. That would fit great at the point! Then they could market they have the flying trio with Raptor, Gatekeeper, and whatever they call the flyer haha One can dream huh? Either that or a nice woodie like a GCI or RMC for their next coaster and I would be one happy camper. Great report by the way looking forward to the rest of it.

Made my first visit to Waldameer this year as well. Was also pleasantly surprised at how nice the park was. And Ravine Flyer OMG might be one of the best wooden coasters I've ever been on. Though I have yet to ride the Voyage haha, and it's been 6 years since I've been on El Toro so my memory is fuzzy on that one haha.

Depends for the maximum amount of rides on Maverick enter through the resort gate as its closer to the ride. (Which I think you will be since you're staying at the Breakers) Usually during early entry everyone goes to Millennium first then works their way back to Maverick. My best guess would be about four to five rides on Maverick before lines start getting long if that's the only ride you're targeting for early entry.

Beast for sure definitely that night. Banshee is also a great night ride. I believe early entry at KI is 30 min and Banshee is the only coaster open early this year. You could check out Columbus Zoo while you're in the area. There's a credit there! Yes if Dragster is closed they will replace it with another ride for ERT. The usual replacement for Dragster is Millennium Force. I personally think Maverick is the only ride that sucks to wait for at CP, and MF is great for a 100th credit. Feel free to ask any other questions and enjoy your time in Ohio!

Doesn't sound too good for the park reopening tomorrow, if the hotels are already staying closed for tomorrow. Wonder what effect this will have for Coasting for Kids. Especially if people are in town staying at the hotels through the weekend for Coastermania and Coasting for Kids.

I can attest that Mean Streak is running much smoother this year. I actually had an enjoyable ride on it on Sunday. I'll be trying my hand at the Mean Streak challenge sounds like fun!

Cool trip report, never been to Valleyfair so it was fun reading this trip report.

Just ordered my tickets! Can't wait! Gonna hit up Sea World San Diego and Belmont Park for the first time on the Friday before this year.

Mantis was running all day in the rain earlier in the year on a previous visit to the park. It must be a decently reliable coaster to run with CPs Weather Policy.

About an hour from Cedar Point and 40 minutes from Geagua Lake's Wildwater Kingdom!

The waterpark is amazing at this zoo! Definitely my favorite waterpark in Ohio. Great pictures, nice to see the new Africa area. Might head down this weekend myself to check it out, looks pretty nice.

Since I'm seeing a lot of first drop's I'm gonna go a little unconventional and pick two that ain't first drops Cedar Point: Magnum's second turn and drop overlooking beautiful Lake Erie Kings Island: Banshee's drop into the ravine before the Pretzel Loop

Thunder Canyon and Snake River Falls always open up the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Shoot the Rapids would be open normally by now but because of what happened last July I have no clue. Apparently on the winter tour they said it would be reopening, but I wasn't on that tour so yeah not sure on the status of that ride.

I also noticed that CW calls it a family coaster, credit anyone?

I'd have to agree with Viper that ride was god awful. Also not a fan of Revolution either, but I think that has to do with the restraint system that ride uses.

Monster looks great with the new paint! The lighting package on it too is gonna look great at night.
