  2. Here's a bunch of new photos from Clermont Steel this week, of what most certainly is Valravn at Cedar Point. A truck loaded with dark blue supports ready to ship. A lot of track loaded outside. More supports in the background. The gray spine is certainly unique. Supports that are not yet painted. Interesting lift hill piece. These are most certainly heading out this week.
  3. I'll be attending the presentation! Can't wait!
  4. No you can stay in the river as long as you'd like. All the slides are good, the body slides are intense but you'll feel the rivets on your back. The Tornado slide is fun but the same as any other Tornado slide at dozens of other water parks. And the tube slides well they're standard tube slides. Still though a great fun water park, especially on a hotter day it's a great way to spend a few hours and relax.
  5. The crowds are usually pretty light, but on hot day they can get a little crowded. However when this happens you can always go in the lazy river or wave pool since there's no wait for those.
  6. From Tony Clarks Twitter we have an announcement date of 8/18/15
  7. I was also at Kentucky Kingdom today and I took a few pictures of construction of Storm Chaser including track on site! Here you go enjoy. A wide shot of the site. A wide shot of the site. A wide shot of the site. Sorry for the low quality posting from my iPad on the road I'll post higher res versions tomorrow when I get home. The structure looks to be well ready for Storm Chaser with a lot of the extra removed. RMC goodness!
  8. Storm Chaser is an IBox coaster, not Topper Track. Even though the video shows a wooden track it is a No Limits simulation not a custom CGI creation that bigger parks tend to make for their new rides. It's only a rendering not indicative of the final product. The official press release gives all the important info, go check out the Kentucky Kingdom thread.
  9. This looks great! I can't wait to ride this next season.

  11. I'm thinking Dive coaster as well with the station and entrance near Blue Streak where the turnpike cars used to be. I'm also hopeful that in 2017 maybe we'll see that dark ride in the spot where the pirate area used to be and boom the whole Blue Streak area got a huge upgrade. Hey I can dream haha
  12. Haha thanks Andy $10 back your way as well!
  13. Hey guys thought I'd share a mini trip report and photos from the Brew and BBQ festival I attended yesterday. It was a great event at Cedar Point and an amazing way to escape kids and noise on a very busy weekend. I've arrived at the Point for a beautiful weekend! And today's event consists of Brew and BBQ! Flowers are finally planted. The season began with this being a plot of dirt. The new Lakeside Pavilions. Special event! The awesome Woodstock fountain inside the new Lakeside Pavilion. RougaBrew display. Lot's of beer to try! Take your pick. Great Lakes is a local favorite. Cedar Point has a partnership with Brew Kettle this year who brewed the RougaBREW and..... All for One CAVS IPA! Go Cavs! Yuengling another favorite in the area. There was a band playing during the event. And then this is the view you get while tasting your beers. This is how the event worked. 1 ticket either got you a 4 oz sample of beer or a small food plate. 3 tickets got you a full beer or a full plate. Awesome way to give plenty of choice to guests. Pouring a beer. Some of the breweries even had stickers and pins they were giving out. And for a break from the action we checked out the All Wheels Extreme show featuring selfie sticks this year. #noselfiesticks Always a high action show. So long from the Point! Brew and BBQ was a great event and it's also running next weekend! If you're a fan of craft beer don't miss it! It's only $15 with park admission and $55 if you don't have admission into park. You are provided with 15 sample tickets to do with what you want. If you're getting beer that's $1 for 4 oz, a great deal inside an amusement park. Sadly I didn't grab any pictures of the food since the line was long and we have the dining plan on our pass. We just decided to drink our way through.
  14. You can get your pass processed at CP with no problem.
  15. Wow this looks great and more like a true dark ride with shooting elements. Definitely a step up from what dark rides Cedar Fair has been making lately. I feel like I could ride this and enjoy it without shooting anything. Don't get that feeling with the Cedar Fair rides.
  16. The rain policy is harsher on certain rides than others. Dragster won't run with a single drop, and Magnum (which is what had the accident in the rain) also shuts down fairly quickly in the rain. Most of the other rides though still operate unless it's a heavy downpour. Raptor and Iron Dragon can also be iffy in the rain but that's because you're below the track.
  17. I also agree that Wild Eagle is so much better than Gatekeeper. To me it's the best winged coaster but I haven't been on Thunderbird yet. great photos.
  18. Sadly Rougarou does not have any noticeable different night effects. The only effects are at the bottom of the first drop with fog and sound. The second half of the ride I expected something but there wasn't anything. So to me difference between a night ride and a day ride wasn't a big difference as that fog at the bottom of the drop was also on during the day.
  19. I rode Millennium today at 10 AM, don't think the certification thing has any truth to it. Millennium was planned to be on the line up for pass holder night but didn't open for whatever reason like a lot of other rides. Millennium was supposed to open for early entry but I think part of it is the new crews learning their jobs. Even Rougarou didn't open till 9:10 today, but yeah give it a week or so and they'll be much better. Opening weekend usually weeds out the slacker employees anyway haha
  20. I'll be staying at the Breakers this weekend. I'll make sure to post some pictures here.
  21. Cedar Fair always works like magic to finish up their finishing touches days before the park is open to the public. I wouldn't be surprised if they are working late into the night thursday before the hotel opens for Friday night stays.
  22. Really looking forward to Maverick with the new restraints! Hoping for a surprise opening on media day for Rougarou to show them off but doubt it since Maverick will not be open that night for passholder night. In any case I'll be first in line on opening day!
  23. Haha thanks! the lighting looks just like the inside of the station. Lots of blue! Plus you the word launch also helps.
