  1. I'm actually excited to see this sign come together as Cedar Fair has done great work with their signs of late so can't wait to see what it becomes.
  2. ^ I'm just assuming here but I've also wondered the exact same thing. But by doing my own research on the Six Flags site if you visit Great America's or Magic Mountains flash pass info it specifically says 1 ride only on flash pass. It does not say this for Wicked Cyclone so I'm assuming that it'll be available for re-rides. Anyone else have anymore info? I plan on going in June as well and getting the flash pass too.
  3. There was vine today posted by Tony Clark of them testing the floor dropping out. I would assume test runs start this weekend or next week. Only time will tell.
  4. Yes and no, I see everyones point on it's new trains nothing more but to me I came around to counting it a new credit. You may not be changing the track but you are changing the classification of roller coaster from stand-up to floors. From standing to sitting down so yes its a little more complicated than just new trains. At first I was like yeah not a new credit, but after following the construction this winter I've come along to the idea that it's going to be a completely different experience so yup I would say new credit. But again it's everyones own personal list so you decide whether you think it's a new credit or not.
  5. Fury 325 is so different than Intimidator that I think it's unfair to even compare the two or call it a "trend". Fury is all about speed and quick transitions, where Intimidator has the traditional hills you'd find on a hyper coaster with some floater air. Leviathan is also a little different than Behemoth. If you look at the original trend, Magnum and Millennium, they are different coasters. Hyper coasters in general include lots of hills that gradually become smaller, where as Giga coasters are definitely a different breed. Millennium, I305, Leviathan, Fury all of their second hill's are much smaller when compared to the first hill versus the second hill on the first hyper coaster Magnum XL. So in short no the two types of coasters are not the same at all, and are very different. IMO any major park can have a hyper coaster and a giga coaster in the same park.
  6. I was on the fence of buying the pass, I plan on visiting twice this year so this deal puts me over the edge. Definitely getting the pass now!
  7. Wow this coaster looks better and better everyday. I'm definitely gonna have to try and get to SLC this year to check it out.
  8. Yeah I only have ridden Revolution once and that's probably all I've ever ride it, unless those restraints change.
  9. Amen Robb! I know earlier I said I didn't think it would top my number one I:305 and people were like well then why even ride Fury if your mind is made up. Well I want to ride it because I ENJOY riding roller coasters, good or bad. Not every single one has to be in my top list for me to enjoy them, there's plenty that I really like that are not in my top ten. Heck Dragster at Cedar Point my home park isn't in my top ten, but does that mean I'm never going to ride Dragster again? No. Relax people I know the Carowinds fanboys want this to be the greatest thing ever, and for this year it might be. (Though those RMCs look hella good) In reality next year there will be a new hotness that everyone is clamoring for and Fury 325 will go back to what it's meant to be... a good ride for the park, just like every other new coaster built.
  10. Yeah geeze can't even have a discussion on the discussion thread haha I'm pretty sure you missed the part where I said I'm still excited to ride it and see for myself.
  11. Wasn't expecting this coaster to overtake my number one which is I:305 and after reading the reviews I can safely say it most likely won't. I'll be at Carowinds on Tuesday and Wednesday and looking forward to ride, I enjoyed Leviathan and if anything this looks like a ride to fix some of the problems with Leviathan. Yeah it probably won't blow me away but sure it's gonna be a fun ride nonetheless.
  12. Unfortunately this park is a limited time engagement every year to coincide with spring break for schools in the area. For more info check it out here http://www.ixamusementpark.com This year its from March 27 - April 19
  13. Yeah you should be just fine, especially with it being in May. That said if you do run out of time you can always buy a fast lane on the last day but I really don't think you'll need to. Weekdays in May typically aren't too crowded.
  14. Rumbler is a great ride but also don't miss the haunted house either.
  15. I would say get Maverick done as soon as possible that line can get long quick, plus they'll have the new soft restraints which could take a little longer to load we'll see. It is hard to start at it since it's at the back of the park but you can always enter through one of the other entrances ala the marina entrance or the resort entrance to get a head start on beating people back there.
  16. Awesome start to the trip report, can't wait to see more! Also yeah the train at Stricker's Grove was incredible, much better than Jungle Cruise and complete with a geese social gathering in the field near the end of the train route.
  17. Hey guys just registered for Canada's Wonderland! Can't wait to attend my first Coasting For Kids! http://support.gktw.org/goto/damarksta
  18. Actually I do have hope for a Rougarou train reveal, Tony Clark has teased a month ago that the trains hadn't arrived YET and also one of the tweets about the chill out was you guys are in for a tReat, with the R capitalized so yes I have a good feeling we'll see them tomorrow. Stay tuned!
  19. Wow this is looking better and better everyday. This is easily becoming my most anticipated coaster of the year. I love all the extra theming, really makes a difference. Can't wait to ride this at Holiwood nights!!!!!
  20. Awesome pics and really cool that you caught the Orion launch.
  21. Was just at a holiday event where Cedar Point confirmed the coaster campout would be returning in May. They haven't announced an exact date yet but did say it would be open to everyone so sounds like the event is growing this year.
  22. I was just talking about this with someone at work the other day, very awesome idea and I'd love to see these pop up in more theme parks in the future.
  23. Neat report so far! I've never been to Kalahari and it's only an hour from me, but I'll finally be visiting in December so it was neat seeing the pictures of it.
