FIRST 39 UPDATES CAN BE VIEWED ON THIS SITE: http://sfgamworld.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15152 So back in July, I started an RCT3 park on another forum called "Heage Lake". The park opened in 1992 and just recently became "Six Flags Connecticut Kingdom" in 1997. (Current season) I figured with less people visiting that forum (Local) due to being the off-season, that I'd bring the park here. I'm going to continue with storyline updates (Hoping to go to 2020 in park years), but first, a sum-up of the park's history: --- Back in the early 90's, local businessmen Mike Heage and James Calico had an idea for a new amusement park in the (fictional) town of Whitehall, Connecticut The two men simply flipped a coin to decide who would get the park named after them, and Mr. Heage won, thus Heage Lake was born On Friday May 1st, 1992, Heage Lake opened to unexpectedly high crowds and instantly became a landmark for theme park fans and roller coaster enthusiasts alike. The park opened with 4 roller coasters The first is Scream Machine, an Arrow Dynamics looping coaster with 3 inversions, which originally operated at a family theme park in Pennyslvania from 1982-1990. The second is Grand Stand, a 1950's themed B&M Stand-Up roller coaster which is the centerpiece of the park's "Mid-Century Square" section. The park's flagship coaster and main attraction, the Connecticut Twister, a product of RCCA. The fourth and final coaster that opened with the park was Junior Twister, a Vekoma kiddie coaster Unfortunately, conflict between the two men surrounding the debate of a new property in Illinois sparked James Calico to leave Heage Lake and open his own park, Calico Lake, in 1994. The 1993 season brought two new water rides to Heage Lake The Lost Rapids, an Intamin River Rafting Ride, located in the park's Pontchartrain Bay section Also, Klondike River Splashdown, a Hopkins Shoot-The-Chutes ride. With the recent Six Flags buyout in place, the ride has since been renamed "Aquaman Splashdown" and is now part of the park's Gotham Backlot area. It's location was formerly known as Klondike Territory. Unfortunately, on Halloween evening of 1993, an 83 year old women had a heart attack during the park's Fall Fest event while exploring the "24 Elm Street" attraction. Thankfully she survived the ordeal, but the incident brought a lot of negative attention towards the park, along with a drop in attendance in 1994 which was also caused by the opening of Calico Lake that year. In 1994, the park added S.S. Bayou, an Intamin Bounty attraction. Recently rethemed to "The Joker Inc.", it is located in the Gotham Backlot section of the park 1995 brought the addition of Hurricane, an SDC Hurricane model roller coaster which was inherited from the former Castro Park (fictional) in Illinois, which closed in 1994. (This was inspired by Hurricane at fraroc's King's Paradise) Verdugo brought record breaking crowds to the park when it opened it 1996 as the first "Invertigo" model by Vekoma (I'm not trying to deminish the record claimed by Colse35, it's just that I had this planned since July and I don't plan on including other RCT parks in my story). In Mid-1996 the state of Connecticut had had enough of the constant conflict and eventual extortion between Heage and Calico Lakes (Even causing road accidents), and both parks were shut down for good. While Calico Lake was replaced with a Wal-Mart store, Heage Lake was fortunate enough to have been purchased by Premier Parks, AKA Six Flags Inc. And finally, this year, the park has introduced the all new Tower of Doom Intamin Gryo drop ride. Standing at an astounding 223 ft. tall it is the 2nd tallest attraction at the park (Behind Sky Tower) Here's a 1995 Map to give you guys a better idea of where everything at the park is: Since this map was released, the only ride no longer in the park is Mine Shaft Drop, which was unexpectedly removed over the 1996-1997 offseason under Six Flags. Verdugo is located where "La Empresa" (Now Batwing) was on this map, and The Tower of Doom is located next to The Joker Inc. (S.S. Bayou) Another thing, here are some of the park's videos: Connecticut Twister 1993 POV - Grand Stand 1993 POV - Junior Twister 1993 POV - Sky Tower Winter 1994 POV - Hurricane Commercial - Scream Machine 1994 POV - Haunted Ranch 1994 POV - Klondike River Splashdown 1994 POV - Hurricane 1995 POV - Mine Shaft Drop 1996 POV - --- Well, that's about it. I know blackmailing and extortion is a shady way to close the park, but that's just how it happened, I wanted something different than the usual major storm or finanical issues. I didn't mention this but the park is told in the point of view of Jacob Karse, a local roller coaster enthusiast. I'll continue with the storyline updates hopefully tomorrow. Again, the first 39 updates of the park can be viewed here: http://sfgamworld.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=15152 You do NOT have to register for this site to view the updates -RollingCoasting

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
RollingCoasting replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Every time I open this thread the last post was either about a Sky Ride or a boat. Cedar Point needs to announce this thing already -
Thread is pretty self-explanatory What credits were you close to not getting? Me, I almost didn't ride Ragin' Cajun at Six Flags Great America. During my 2011 visit I planned to ride it after I saw it on the 2010 map and saw that it didn't go upside down and wasn't too extreme (I really didn't like inverting rides until 2012) but like always, the line moved at the pace of a snail, so I left. Then in August 2013 after hearing rumors that it was headed East, I got in line once more but yet again, the line moved as fast as a snail and I got out. During Fright Fest 2013 I realized that time was slowing fading away and if I didn't ride this thing my local SFGAm Forum was going to have to listen to me b*tch about not riding for x years until I visit SFA so I finally gave it a go and waited through the 40 minute or so line (Which was only about 3 switchbacks, by the way) on October 6th, 2013, exactly 3 weeks before it gave it's final ride at the park

Go Bananas is somewhat of an "Indoor park." They do have a few flats and a coaster, so there's that. Google lists it as an "Amusement Center" -
SFMM vs Cedar Point?
RollingCoasting replied to DoinItForTheFame's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I haven't been to either but definitely Magic Mountain. I honestly don't think Cedar Point looks like that good of a park, not even in Cedar Fair's top 5. Also, Millennium Force, Maverick, and Top Thrill Dragster look overrated -

Is this supposed to be a thread, or a list of coasters 8 year olds want to make in RCT3? -
Worst Coaster Ever?
RollingCoasting replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So what's the deal with Arrow looper restraints? Do they eliminate headbanging for shorter or taller people? I was 7-8 inches shorter than I am now last time I rode an Arrow looper but I don't think it's worth riding one to find out -
Your guilty pleasure ride

TDK at SFGAm. Though I liked RC more, TDK is still a pretty fun and underrated ride. I'm not a huge fan of the theme or scenery (I think it'd actually be better unboxed) but I do like the layout. I've been riding it a lot more lately then past seasons. The only thing that sucks is that it almost always has a ridiculously long line -

1. Pirate's Cove Theme Park - Elk Grove Village. I've actually never been here, they don't have any creds, so that's probably why. Maybe they'll inherit Dragon Coaster from Santa's Village? 2. Six Flags Great America - Gurnee 3. Go Banana's - Norridge -
Worst Coaster Ever?
RollingCoasting replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I respect your opinion, but I've never really understood the hate for Ragin' Cajun. The spinning, imo, makes it a lot more interesting, and it has a better layout than TDK. Plus you get a small pop of airtime towards the end of the ride . I only rode it once during Fright Fest 2013 but I definitely thought it was one the park's better coasters, probably would be my number 7 or 8 at the park if it were still here I'm guessing you did not ride Demon during your visit (If you rode IW at it's original location) Oh yeah, speaking of which, my vote goes to SFGAM's Demon. I'll admit I haven't been on many coasters, but this one is terrible. Only rough coaster at SFGAm. I've been avoiding it since 2014, my last ride on it was just plain awful. As we hit the brake run, almost the whole train let out an "Ow" in unison. The transition into the first corkscrew has got to have the worst ear banging anywhere. I probably won't ride it again until it either gets new trains/restraints or is closing down. -
Launch VS Lift Hill?

Lift-hills The train gradually gaining speed down the drop is more fun than a sudden acceleration imo -
