^ Just saw the video. Not sure if it is suitable to post here. But it was awful. Hopefully those who were injured have a quick recovery. Any time there is an accident like this it is awful news, but to me it is always even more heartbreaking when the people were out just trying to have a good time, and enjoy themselves, then something like this happens. It's not like they were out doing something dumb, or dangerous, yet they still get hurt.

Wait... it's only 750ft now? I thought it was 1,001 ft... because they wanted to be the first to go over 1,000ft... and they had cleared pleanty of space for it. -
A Thursday should not be to busy at the park. Just make sure there is no "Kids Fest" or any festival going on that week. Outlaw Run always runs 2 trains. I think the best place to sit on Outlaw Run is the front row, but 90% of people on here will say the best place is the back row. It's just a matter of personal opinion. Any seat on the ride is amazing. Nothing in the park should be over a 30 minute wait including Outlaw Run unless you just go on a super busy day. Outlaw Run is usually about 15 minutes as is everything else. The cave tour is fun, but be prepared for tight spaces, lots stairs, and a lot of almost crawling. It's neat to do once. But that's about it. The train ride is a nice train ride. Gives some unique views of Outlaw Run. As for hotels? We always stay at the Holiday Inn Express on Green Mountain drive. It's a nice hotel, and we have never been dissapointed.

^ I would LOVE to see CP point get a GCI coaster, I would just much rather it have a beach front location. Like closer to Wicked Twisters location. -
I know that (at least TDD,not SURE about KK) crest the tower between 8 and 12mph not only because I know several people who have spent years working on the ride, people ranging from ride host, to maintance, to supervisors. I've spent years studying the ride and learning about the ride. Not only have I learned from the people who work there how fast the train crest the top of the tower, but there are several documentaries out there from Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, and National Geographic channel that interview Monty Jasper (I believe) and he states that the train crest the tower at that speed. In regards to the 10 mph difference per launch. Yes, this is true. The computer may have to launch one train 10 mph faster than the previous train due to difference in weight, but even launching a heavier train faster will still get it to crest the tower at the same 8-12mph.

Wait... so having experience in a simulator game (No Limits 2) suddenly means that you know how top hats work??? That means I have played it enough that I am a bona fide roller coaster designer. Guess that means it is time for me to start applying at RMC, B&M, S&S, and Intamin. I have been on Top Thrill Dragster close to (if not more than) 1,000 times, and I assure you that it does NOT pull any where NEAR -1g at the top of the tophat. I don't care what you are coming up with in NL2. You crest the tower on Top Thrill Dragster between 8-12mph. I assure you that 8mph is NOT enough to give you -1g on that top hat. You may get a little airtime going into the top hat, and coming out of it, but there is NO way that you are getting -1g. With KK having the brake at the top of the tower, I have not once had airtime on KK going down the tower. Then again, I have only rode in the front on KK so I can not fully compare it to TTD, but I assure you neither of these coasters is pulling -1g at the top of the tower. Yay for physics. To get -1g on the top of one of TTD, or KK traveling at 12mph the curve of the tower would need to be 19ft across, and we all know that the curve of both of those towers is wider than that.

Was it down for wind?? I looked on the webcams earlier, and it seemed to be a bit of a windy day. If so this would explain why it didn't look like anyone was working on it. Because they wouldn't have been if it were just down for wind. -
I would suggest checking out the Cedar Point meal deals, and drink packages.I myself have never used them, but they might be something of interest for you. If you buy them online in advanced they are actually pretty reasonably priced compared to what they are in the park. If that is not something you want to do, the above mentioned cooler in the car idea is really a good idea!

Texas Trip Planning Help Needed
DoinItForTheFame replied to scooterdoug's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I personally ALWAYS buy Platinum Flash Pass. Even if it saves me 15 minutes I am happy. Because that is 15 minutes more I have to ride coasters instead of waiting in line. I buy mine online before even getting to the park, and I have never been disappointed. That is just a personal preference. I like to have everything out of the way when I get there, so I can just go pick up my Flash Pass, and start riding rides. With that being said, most people on here will tell you to wait until you get to the park to buy them. If I were you I would go visit Zero-Gravity in Dallas. It's about a 40 minute drive from Six Flags with Dallas traffic. They have a SCAD Tower, and if you have never done a SCAD Tower I highly suggest it. It is a crazy, heart stopping expereinece that you can not get any where else. (Except for obviously on another SCAD Tower.) With it being so close you might as well! They also have a decent Sky Scraper ride. Again, if you have never been on one, they are a lot of fun. Then for the San Antonio area, be sure to check out the San Antonio River Walk. They have some great restaurants, and a fun little boat ride though the river walk area. If you have the time, maybe even try squeezing in a visit to Sea World San Antonio if you have never been. Steel Eel is a pretty fun coaster. Not to mention they have a Batman Clone! In Dallas, I usually eat at Salt Grass Steak House. It is near SFOT, and I really like their steaks. They also have several really good Brazilian Steakhouses in Dallas. Amazing, all you can eat meats like Lamb, Filet, Brisket, Prime Rib. They are about $50 a person, but it is beyond worth it. Again, in San Antonio, I highly suggest you visit the River Walk. There are a LOT of really good food places there. -- I hope this helps a little. If you are flying in to Dallas early enough in the day I would say try hitting up Hurricane Harbor next to SFOT, it's a nice water park, and has a Platinum Flash Pass for $35 that would ensure you got to do all the slides in a few hours. Also, admission if you buy online in advance is like $27. Both of the parks in Texas are a lot of fun! NTG is AMAZING, and Texas Sky Screamer at SFOT is seriously one of the few rides on the planet that scare the SH!T out of me!! I hope you have a blast, and I look forward to a nice Photo TR from you! -

I don't think Kingda Ka is "rough" I just think that the trains are not nearly as aerodynamic as Top Thrill Dragsters trains are there for there is more wind resistance on the launch which makes the trains vibrate more. But that's just my opinion. I am jealous you got air time!!! I have never had airtime on either espically not on Kingda Ka. I have a few times got air time on TTD, but only in the back row.

How do we know they are not already working with RMC on a Mean Streak makeover? Only time will tell, but don't rule out a great wooden coaster yet. I'm sure they have it in the works already for a future installment. -

^ As the article stated Cedar Point said he was trying to squeeze through an already closing air gate. Let this be a lesson to everyone as to why you should never try to squeeze through an air gate that has started to close... At any park. Not just Cedar Point. With that being said, hopefully his leg heals soon and he can get back to enjoy theme parks. -
No (haha) Do you think you spend to much time on TPR?

LSM! Mac, or PC?

True, (for the most part. I can't do the spinning flat rides, but I love flat rides like Skyhawk!) The person below me loves to swim in the ocean!
