What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Wicked Cyclone at SFNE and I am going to ride it again before the season comes to a complete end. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

I was listening to a radio show one time (around the time of the Texas Giant incident) and one of the hosts thought that it was "the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world," while the other host corrected him by saying that "I thought that was that wooden one at the Six Flags in New Jersey." oh. -

Ovechkin is trying to guarantee a Game 7 win on New York ice and that's ridiculous. The Rangers are coming out on to their home ice with momentum, while the Capitals are coming out defensive on the road. It's going to be a hell of a game, just hoping the Rangers can pull off a win. -
It would be nice to see next season to see if they can do something to the entire DC area for the Superman vs. Batman movie. Seeing as the wild mouse Batman coaster and Bizarro are in such close proximity, it'd be very nice to see some SvB theming throughout that area (also for S:RoS to return). Also, WiCy is looking hot as hotness gets. I can't wait to ride it.

Following en route with the speculation of an S&S Free Fly, does anyone know how much space those markings(as shown by boldikus) are covering? Tranan in Sweden takes up about 230' by 160' (70m x 49m). Here is the footprint for Tranan. I know the rides won't be exactly the same, but being a coaster that's only been built once, it's pertinent to include.

I agree with the statement someone made about syncing two videos of the front and back. I think for coasters such as I305, or Maverick at CP, among other rides of the same nature, it does add an extra element to provide a back seat video as well as a front POV, because you would be able to enjoy the elegance of the track with the front POV, as well as how the train moves and twists with the track with a back seat video -

The key take away here is that you rode it 20 times. From most people, I've heard once was enough on Mantis. I never got a chance to ride Mantis, but I'm making my first trip to the point this summer and I'm very anxious to get on the new and improved Rougarou. Oh my god, absolutely agree with this. I rode Mantis once and only once. I couldn't stand it, no pun intended. 20 times on any coaster means something. -
Schwarzkopf Bayern Kurve?

I know there is one operating at Kennywood in Pennsylvania, and then a few others that are scattered across the Western Hemisphere, but many of the original ones were removed at or around the turn of the millennium. The only one I have seen (which happens to be the one at Kennywood) was fairly loud, most likely due to the drive mechanics that were used to operate the ride. Also, as the ride would gradually gain speed, the cars would tilt further inward, to the point where they were parallel to the angle of the track. -
But my point is that the special effects HAVE changed the ride experience of S:RoS because the trains now rattle far more than they would have with the old trains. I did not mean to speak on your behalf; I think I meant more along the lines of "People might be scratching their heads" but my point stays the same. The transitions that were smooth and enjoyable when it was S:RoS have now been changed to a noticeable degree since the inception of Bizarro. I guess my point isn't making much sense to anyone other than myself, so I might as well shut up.
-
I honestly can't tell if you're being sarcastic. I'm not being sarcastic in the sense that I hate the superfluous special effects on Bizarro. I meant that, in their own right, both I305 and Bizarro are amazing coasters, and I have ridden both countless times. But what I meant was, if they added special effects, changed the theme of I305, etc, it would seem, at the very least, rather gimmicky. Like if they changed it from Intimidator 305 to Gordon 305, changed the color scheme to his colors, put his number as scenery throughout the ride, and added speakers that consisted of a soundtrack of interviews of Gordon over explosions and a rock soundtrack, you would be scratching your head. My point being, is that a roller coaster shouldn't have to invoke a sense of excitement FOR you. It should come the person experiencing the ride. I know that's rather quasi-philosophical, but it's true. The design and layout of a coaster should be enjoyed as they were intended, which is not the case for S:RoS. If you incorporate special effects into a ride's initial design, then more power to you. But don't mess with a ride that wasn't broken to begin with.

I can't wait for the summer. This is going to be one amazing fucking ride. Also, I hope they ditch the Bizarro gimmick on S:ROS soon. I hate the trains with the non-functional speakers (that tend to pull hair out of my head, being 6'1'") and almost none of the special effects that were slated to be used are in use anymore. The speakers are superfluous and do not work. I think they should simply revert it.

The addition of El Diablo doesn't exactly take up much space, especially on the footprint of where Rolling Thunder was. Would it be entirely out of the question that something could be placed towards the far end of where RT was? It could expand the Golden Kingdom, in all honesty. If they were to do something there, I would love to see SFGAdv give a racing launcher (Chiller-esque) another chance (even though they won't). What do you think could go there?

Perhaps I've just had a string a bad luck, who knows. And perhaps it can be attributed to where we both tend to frequent parks, because like you said, you tend to spend more of your time at parks in Orlando, while I spend them more at SFNE and Canobie, and other surrounding parks, so who knows. I will just mark it to bad luck. At any rate, I'll try and work on not having their business bother mine. Also, I agree with you on the strollers. Especially if they are parents who feel entitled to stop in the middle of the walkway with their child so they can pull out a park map.

@Robb Well yes, you have a point about cell phones. But when I have to constantly move out of the way of people on their phones, it becomes a problem. Sure, if you sit on a bench, it's not directly affecting me. But if you are walking with your phone, with your head down, and your entire peripheral vision is taken up by Facebook, it becomes a problem. Sure, you can use your phone on line where you don't really have to pay attention, but on the main walkway, like there is in most parks, there are little kids walking around and other people, and if you're on your phone, making your way downtown without looking, problems are sure to arise. I know a lot of people only check it every now and again, and that's fine. But I have seen, on numerous occasions, where people just charge their way through crowds with their heads down. Again, that's where the problem comes from. I completely agree with you about the selfie stick, though.
