  1. Does anyone know if Nitro ended up running again?
  2. There is no reason to celebrate Kingda Krap. Wait a year and celebrate the 10th anniversary of El Toro! Better yet, don't waste any money on stupid celebrations. Aha, fair point.
  3. Helix is the definition of a coasterboner. LOOK AT IT. LIKE, DAMN. EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.
  4. Does anyone think that SFGadv will do something next year for KK's 10th anniversary? ^ There are just so many little things I feel they have overlooked over the years that has put them in this spot to begin with. I think the RT plot should come last, as it is the most recent, and there is still plenty of time to decide on what to do with that. It will probably come down to a season to season thing, doing R&R on different areas that have needed it for the longest amount of time, and slowly it'll shape up.
  5. Of course, I wouldn't mind something like Helix going into the "high-thrill" spot.
  6. I like that layout. It would open that area up really well. An RMC or GCI Twister would work, and like everyone else has said, a Maverick style coaster would work well. Hell, I wouldn't mind a dive machine or a Eurofighter, simply for diversification. But I think this area should most definitely the focus of SFGadv, if anything.
  7. ^ Like you said, maybe they have been planning something for a while, and the dismay is all a ruse! But that would make the most sense. Like I mentioned before, the park would benefit with a "War on Lines" for the Eastern side of the park. Also, it would match the relentless pace in which SFGadv has been adding attractions and such in recent years. First with Kingda Ka(which brought an entire new area to the park), then El Toro(which remodeled/themed an area of the park that was lacking), then the remodeling of Medusa, then Z:DOD. Hopefully this means they aren't about to let up.
  8. Honestly, if you were to do something to the anemic Movie Town area, it would have to be leveled almost completely. That means the Autobahn building, Musik Express, the theater, maybe even the amphitheater. Then you would have the complete liberty of theming the area, rather than try to work it into the existing architecture. Also, since it's kind of a mess back there. I am not opposed to the idea though, because developing an entirely new area with a few flats and maybe a roller coaster would be reminiscent of a slightly toned down "War on Lines," arguably the beginning point of when SFGadv began to flourish. I like the idea of theming a smaller launched coaster around Kingda Ka, too. However, not very likely.
  9. And the thing is, is that they didn't HAVE to get rid of it. Since they took Twister out, there was a perfect spot for it to go, with a little reconfiguration.
  10. ^ Good report, glad to see everything is shaping up. What worries me sometimes about coasters that feel like they are in summer mode early season is that there is a chance that that pace could burn out, but hopefully that isn't the case.
  11. I was also thinking that SFGadv has had their fair share of problems with another certain launched duel coaster. Maybe the logistics have changed, but I wouldn't see them springing for another in the near future. A single launch, maybe. But not two.
  12. I was just thinking of that! I was thinking like, steel/wood hybrid launched RMC. That would be amazing! Plus, you could make use of the old Rolling Thunder Station and have the two trains make the same turn that would lead to the launch.
  13. The space where Rolling Thunder's lift used to be (where the drop goes under El Toro) looks like a perfect straight run for a launched coaster. It's a shame though, because you can't have that, because it couldn't compete with KK, and you can't build another wood, because it wouldn't be able to compete with ET.
  14. Just found out I have not one, but two trips already lined up before June. I like the pacing on this year already.
  15. I completely overlooked the new audio system. Hopefully it'll just play the chorus to "Right Round Baby" by Dead or Alive at ridiculously distorted levels, with undertones of the Nazi regime speeches, to compliment the new paint scheme!
  16. I've spent the last twenty or so pages just drooling over this marvel. Cannot wait to see it in action. Fingers crossed I can make it out there in the not so distant future to ride it
  17. I disagree, Bizarro has the best of both worlds. Crazy airtime and Awesome G force. I think the layout is better than MF. I thought MF was great but lacking in airtime. This poll is much better than golden ticket IMO. Fair point. Although the change from S:ROS to Bizarro has never sat right with me. If they were to change it back, then it would fair slightly better with me.
  18. ^^ Sounds like a good time! Any particular reason for skipping over Scream? Was it not working or open? Or just a time constraint. Definitely wouldn't be one to choose CWW over Scream.
  19. Would've looked nice with orange track and blue rail. Or least, by looked nice, I mean marginally less tacky. Why don't they just have confetti fly out when you come back to the station while the attendant apathetically spins a noise maker, just to go the full nine yards.
  20. For me, and this may be an unpopular opinion, but I really think Bizarro at SFNE should be lower on the list. It's a great ride, don't get me wrong, but it surely doesn't trump Millennium Force or Shambhala. I even get more "giddy school-girl giggles" excitement out of Nitro. Who knows.
  21. Wear a hoodie and put the hood up. Haha Or just to really stick it to them, some Mickey Mouse Ears
  22. With the Bizarro trains, I feel as though for a person such as me, being 6'1, that my hair can catch in and around the speakers, causing a few moments of painful pull and tug. I'm not sure if I am the only one with that problem, but it has definitely ruined some ride experience for me. And overall, it just doesn't feel as smooth as it used to. It used to feel like silk running over the track, but the age and degradation (however menial it may be) definitely shows. As you mentioned, the helix/spaghetti bowl rattles the train so much more than it used to, and the final bunny hops are a killer on the thighs with the redesigned train.
