I'm down! We went today but the lines were awful as expected. Also, this may not be news to anyone here, but we found out something interesting today. Even if you have the basic Dining Pass which cuts off at 3pm for lunch, if you are already in the line and get up to the counter at say... 3:09p they will still honor it. I thought we were screwed after a 25 minute wait in line at Wascal's; I can't even explain how slow the staff and line were moving, and I was about to raise hell if denied but he simply scanned it and off we went. There must be some kind of a grace period.... anyone else had this experience? The opposite happened to me at Six Flags New England. I was less than 5 minutes late for dinner (it was about 7:34pm) and they denied me. i wonder if dinner is a different story. i know i've been late for lunch waiting in line once and it wasn't even an issue.

What do you all mean by "staple"? To push the restraints in so much that the rider cannot move at all. This depends on a number of factors, and the biggest variable is of course the rider. Maybe a rider is of a size that the first locking point still leaves a lot of room. Some ride ops will push until it hits that second locking point just to be sure, and perhaps for this rider that's pushing up against them. That rider would be said to be stapled. They'll be safe, but may not enjoy the ride very much. I have been stapled before, and it's not the most pleasant thing ever for sure. But I personally would rather err on the side of safety, and generally all parks will. i slouch, stick my legs out, stick my stomach out, anything to keep from being stapled in. nothing makes a ride more unenjoyable than being in a tight restraint.

i tell you, i had some endurance back then. but i did stop at 50. i've also done 50 of canyon blaster too. with maybe having to get off once or twice. that was an ERT event. viper 57 times in 4 hours. today, i barely got 10 on canyon blaster last year sometime. that was alternating between that and el loco cause they wouldn't let me stay on. i used to try to marathon spin out. hahaha so when people say green lantern is smooth, i just assume they have that iron head like i must have had back 20 years ago. it's definitely gone now, or the rides just suck now. lol

i remember going to a pass holder event for Superman. to me it was to satisfy the pass holders because it was of course advertised to open that year. i just remember it not going very high up the tower. i believe they also opened batman for an ert, and i got 50 rides on it without having to get off cause everyone else was at superman. lol

Kolmården Discussion Thread

my favorite parts, besides the drop are, the long ass stall and that drop before those twisty things towards the end. -
Really? I rode it when it first opened and it was atrocious then. I won't go on it anymore, but I see it spin like crazy these days. i thought it was the other way around. it spun a lot new, and after they added that side thing, it doesn't as much. when i've watched it recently, i hardly see it flip.

Sure sounds like it. Why even mention The Joker? Because he had just ridden what was once an old crappy wood coaster that is now incredible and smooth. I honestly don't know what's so difficult for people to grasp about this... lots of whining for no reason. Didn't mean disrespect. GR is my favorite coaster of all time and I thought he was dissing it. I had to stand up for my lady.I apologize. how in the world you thought i was comparing the two, i have no idea. so it's the greatest to you. good for you. i think it's my favorite at Knott's. does that make you feel better? i didn't say it sucked. a ton of people don't like silver bullet, i kinda like it. roller coasters are like women, guys are going to like what they like and not like what they don't. no one is wrong.

the way you spin, or where you spin is different. free spins are like doing a back or front flip and zac spin is kind of like a yo yo. where you are flung on the outside of the axis. so the 4d spin is much more natural and you don't get flung into the restraints. alan schilke explained that one time in an interview. i haven't ridden a free spin but i'm excited to try whenever i get out to one.

Really? That's what you were thinking? Sounds like regardless of what they did and how well they did it...you would have been thinking the same thing. How about enjoying the ride? i can think and enjoy at the same time. lol it just didn't blow me away like it did when it was new. maybe cause i had just ridden the Joker the week before as the last coaster. still great and i'd say my favorite at Knott's. also, here's some pics from the event on saturday. https://alexisjoyvipaccess.com/tag/ghostrider-rides-again-knotts-berry-farm/ obviously i don't watch anything these people are on. i know ryan newman, but only the nascar driver. haha

i got a back seat ride in tonight. fun ride, pretty much the way i remember it. best woodie in california? i'd say so. rode goldstriker last week for the first time. i think i was expecting more. i definitely prefer ghostrider. new wood coaster smooth is what i'd call it. not RMC smooth. the second half felt a bit slower than what i was hoping for. but i'm sure it's probably the same. anyway, i'm glad knott's is back to having another solid ride. can't wait to marathon it during the off season.

Yeah, the photo pass has been great! I got pics at SFGAdv and SFNE (would have had more on Wicked Cyclone but one of the trains wasn't triggering the camera). Totally worth it this year. And yes, same guy. After riding in the front with him, we took our second ride in the back. He had to go to work after that. Red-headed guys took a selfie with me and said something about posting on their site. I was somewhat hoping they were TPR members and I'd get to see the picture on here. so with the new digital photo pass, do they add any of the artwork on any of them? i haven't had it since the USB drive. they always added it to all the pics then. just curious if the Joker doesn't have a graphic yet, or they just don't do them anymore.

i drove by about 30 minutes ago and was going to go in, but holy crap the parking lot was packed. 10-15 buses and a full main lot. they were originally parking north of the park but i drove thru to check out what was going on and went north on beach into the main lot. if it opens later, i knew i didn't want to wait in line anyway so i bailed home.
