i just believe we have different definitions of racing/dueling. I don't understand where this assumption that I don't know what racing/dueling is? That's quite rude to be honest, but go ahead and sulk in that negativity man you sound like a blast. it's called being a realist. TC doesn't duel every single time. not even every other time. out of i don't know, 200, maybe 300 rides, i've gotten a dual, duel, like 5-10 times. i can't even remember it's so uncommon. maybe i'm salty because a thousand people got the same thing over and over every time the days you went. some people think that being on the track at the same time is dueling. you said racing, it's not a racing coaster, fyi. so sorry if that's rude.

It's not the larger items that slow down the loading process as those obviously go into the storage bins. It's the smaller loose stuff (glasses and small bags) that people think they can ride with (or sneak on) that kill ride's racing. People with smaller, not seen items sit, only to be told that yes they need to place those items in the bins. Meanwhile, everyone else is ready. I think more needs to be done, but these pouches are a good start. i just see people fumbling with the velcro, or whatever is keeping that thing closed, either trying to put something in it, or take out before or after their ride. along with also taking their drink bottle to the bins. looked like they bought one of those pencil pouches you use for a notebook binder and screwed it in. LOL how about adding the seat lights like on other RMC's so the crew doesn't have to walk back and forth when they don't have a lap bar locked down in position. to me, i see that a problem more than anything. anyway, i also hope i'm wrong with the pouches.

I saw a response the park made to someone on Instagram that said, "No date [for re-open] has been announced yet." They've been spamming that response to every question on Facebook, Twitter, etc. The only thing they're confirming is that it's not being torn down since a lot of the GP are asking "So it's being closed forever?!" when they get the response of "No date to re-open yet." Any suggestions for good eats/drinks in walking distance from the park? I've looked at Yelp and seen a couple decent places for curry, tacos, and sushi - any favorites from locals? I'm willing to uber/train/bus a little bit but honestly I'll have been up since 3-4am so little effort goes a long way when I'm walking out of the park at 8pm. I'm staying at the KBF hotel. Thanks! Porto's Bakery & Cafe is unique to Southern California, really good and fairly cheap. If you go be sure to try one of their potato balls and a cheese roll pastry. It's about a 10 minute walk from the parks front gate. i was going to suggest porto's too, but they close at 8pm. but if you want some pastries during the day, they'll be there, just not after the park closes.

for some reason, the last couple times i tried to log into the six flags passholder section, it told me i was blocked from too many unsuccessful logins. anyway, it started working after clicking around. so i was just browsing some member areas and saw "upgrade membership". clicked on it to see what it said. i got this page. so it says there will be a special offer for current members on march 1st. just a fyi.

Viper is like floating in the clouds compared to GL; they're not even in the same category. Viper has a bit of uncomfortable headbanging and jerky transitions whereas GL has the capacity to cause serious physical pain. For me, taking some of GL's turns face-down felt very similar to being punched directly in the head. I'd estimate that GL is at least 10-15 times worse than your worst ride on Viper. my one ride was the most concerned i've ever been on a coaster after riding it. after i thought, something irreversible might actually happen by riding it. we went up the lift hill face down. a small girl, and her small mom on the other side. for all i know, i might gotten a slight concussion that day. i just remember sitting there after for a while. got some pizza, then after an hour or so, continued on our day. but overall, it just didn't seem like a ride i'd have to ride another time even if it was smooth. viper on the other hand used to be my favorite ride there. it's pretty brutal, and i haven't ridden in a while, but i can ride it and just laugh about it being rough.

they're actually painting it now. lol i really don't remember much about it. the only thing i do is how i thought the flip and dive thing was really cool at the time. i do remember is being rough, and one or two rides and that was enough for life for me. this was when it was brand new. i also rode the crap out of Desperado when it was new too.

i just searched my emails and all the ones i see from black friday or cyber monday don't say anything about early entry. so it seems more than legit to not let regular gold passes or memberships in early. i have a gold membership. but since i don't really see anything important with the upgrade, i'll just keep mine the way it is until they make me change. they've bumped up my monthly a couple times to where i now pay $6.10 a month. but as long as it's around this price, i don't see the need to pay more for the extras right now. https://www.sixflags.com/magicmountain/newsroom/steps-for-swift-entry LOL, yeah, everyone should show them that that get denied. which reminded me, and i just happened to go through some old coaster crap today. this was one of the perks for buying a season pass in 1996. exclusive rides on superman. well, it wasn't going very fast, or very high, but they got us on it. i rode once, then went down and did 50 laps on Batman. haha Opening in 1996... Launching in 1997! lol I also saved some newspaper articles from when they were having issues.

To be fair to the park, I am sure it is buried in the fine print that some benefits are subject to change. Fair point. To which I'm not mad when they only open 5 min because they haven't gotten the safety clearance from security or when we didn't get an early preview of Justice League since it opened so late. But removing something outright that was promised in order to charge more doesn't sit right. i've never used it, but that's pretty wack. i'd think for a gold season pass, you'd at least get to throughout 2018. my gold membership, i'd be more understanding. i do like how they have the differences between the gold memberships online now. especially since i'm not even sure all what i got with my gold membership. lol

i basically say the same thing in every survey in the comments. "i have a great time at sfmm. you have a few great coasters. i will always come to the park to ride them. but, the cleanliness of the park leaves a lot to be desired." usually, i'll give some blatant examples as well. this time, i also made sure to commend Isaiah from the TC crew.

The Knott's Hotel is super convenient (literally next door to the park) and you can get a package that includes parking and the breakfast buffet (which is actually pretty good). Since you are a season pass holder, you can get a discount on the room. Just use the code SEASONPASS when you book your room online. There are some lesser priced motels in the area close to the park, but I haven't stayed at any of them. there's also code JoeCool. for 1/1/18-2/28/18 it's $89 sun-thu and $99 fri and sat. not sure if thats better or worse than the season pass discount. but if anyone else is reading and wants to use that code, there it is. it comes on the flyers knott's hands out at local businesses.

took my nephew from north carolina to sfmm today since there's a free friend this week. currently typing waiting for the ibuprofen to kick in. Scream back row, rattles your head like crazy. they were running the two orange and blue trains. the old color train was off track. twisted colossus was great. only rode once, nothing close to a race. there was one great employee, Isaiah. he checked at least 2/3 of his side, and jogged back every time. the other side, well, not so much. it's taken me this long to ride apocalypse. when was this thing partially re-tracked? didn't feel one bit different than the last time i rode it. did X2 and tried like hell not to bang my head on the last raven but didn't happen. wack! anyway, wasn't too crowded. about a normal summer day. two full lots. but some rides had long lines. goliath, yolo and tatsu were pretty long, so we skipped them. yolo was one train. not sure about the others. looking forward to the weekdays coming up. oh, and if anyone was wondering about the trash cans talked about earlier...
