Stop complaining. I think sometimes people like to call out complainers as often as they can. I'm not complaining. I said it's a strange addition because it is unusual--when was the last time a SF park announced two new kiddie areas with rides like these? I just don't fully understand the reasoning behind it, and I was in no way complaining. I also believe the reasoning behind it is Dollywood has a lot of family areas and flats.. So does Carowinds.. I'm sure these are SFOG major competitors in the area.. I love six flags over ga for their coasters but have always felt there is nothing for people in between kiddy rides and coasters age.. This should fix that!! Yeah, I to wish they would have gotten more for us thrill seekers but this is really needed for this park

The passes are always on special so I wouldn't worry about those prices.. My membership is going up, I received an email about it but the increase is less than $0.25 for both passes together.. That's less than $3/year increase on both passes combined.. Keep in mind, I have had my membership for a while and I have several promotions on it such as free parking (without a gold pass) and some other discount for being a membership founder or something.. But still not much of an increase imo

Fright fest, day or night, in my experience is some of the most crowded times of year.. People come for rides during the day and haunted houses at night.. Sunday morning is the only slow time during Fright Fest Even season pass holder day is very busy! I was surprised when I went on season pass holder day and saw lines just as long as any other day Operations really aren't bad in this park.. I am there all the time.. They used to be bad but for the past 3 - 4 years, this park has some of the best operations out there! I mean the rides do get backed up but ride OPs are very friendly and work just about as fast as they can What slows this park down is when people don't use the tester seats and then end up being to big for a ride or when someone tries to sneak a bag on a ride with mandatory lockers. They then sit there and try to fight the OPs slowing down operations. I saw a lady try and tie her purse to her leg on Goliath and then fight the ride OPs when they told her she couldn't take it.. Then she started yelling that Disney allows bags and people in line kept saying "Disney coasters are babies compared to this". After all of that she was to big to even ride! The restraints wouldn't come down.. The train timer was at 10 mins meaning it took 10 mins to go!

On a side note, for those who haven't seen, Six Flags has finally released an OFFICIAL Android app (I'm sure iPhone app as well).. Looks like it released a little over a month ago.. So far pretty limited on features BUT it is one of the better designed Theme Park app out there.. One neat feature though, you can load your season pass or membership right into the app and not carry your card.. Works GREAT!! Also it shows what coupons you have left on your pass.. Lastly, it has all parks in one app.. No need to download multiple apps like Cedarfair parks Hopefully they will add more features like park maps and stuff and wait times (might be hard to do wait times due to the app being for multiple parks) but still a nice app so far It also has some geeky info that we like here on the forums.. When you click on the rides, it tells who built most of them.. I know GP doesn't care about that but it's neat for us

Crowds are always bad on Saturday.. Due to the area (Bible Belt) Sunday morning however will be dead.. It will remain dead and a lot of rides being a walk-on until about 2 or 3.. At least that's how I see it every time I go! I travel to six flags about once every other month (I live three hours away) I always head up on Friday, get a room.. Visit park on Saturday (normally I flashpass Saturday). And then i go again on Sunday. Normally on Sunday I have been on all rides multiple times by the time I leave to head back home around 2ish. I purchase no flash pass on Sunday.. One Sunday I rode superman about 10 times and never got off once.. Didn't even change seats..

Just came back from a week trip to Disney (First trip ever) and I noticed no construction at Magic Kingdom (Except for some construction around the castle) or Hollywood Studios BUT there is a very big area at Animal Kingdom behind walls that is probably big enough to be a new avatar area. With that being said, I really loved Hollywood Studios.. No one I went with really wanted to come to this park (Hollywood Studios) BUT it was my second favorite behind Animal Kingdom.. Overall I thought it was a really neat and fun park! I did feel it was a very empty park and aside from a few rides it didn't offer much.. But me being a fan of movies I just loved everything about it.. I was happy to come home and read this announcement today! My friends had almost talked me out of going to Hollywood Studios but glad I did one evening.. It was about 2 hours before it closed and no waits on anything.. Not even tower of terror or rock n rollercoaster.. The only reason I got to go is bc my girlfriends favorite restaurant is 50s prime time diner and she was able to find reservations there for 7:45 BTW our whole trip to Disney was just planned the day before we left.. We both had a week off and this is what we decided to do I don't really follow Disney Parks but I really enjoyed every minute being there. I will probably follow them a lot more closely now

SFOG prohibits loose articles on the 4 rides you listed but not sport bottles. There are containers on the exit platform that you can put your bottle in for ALL rides. Yup this answer is correct.. I always get the bottles.. Now they have a new one that offers free refills all summer long!! But again, all rides have a place for them without purchasing a locker.. The rides mentioned only have the loose article policy for bags, cameras, and other like items but not bottles

Yes they do have the discover card entrance.. Sometimes it saves a lot of time and at other times it's just as backed up because they aren't checking discover cards and everyone is lined up in the line. Heck now that I think about it, they have never once asked for my discover card.. Guess they are running on a scouts honor system lol But it has saved me time on most visits so I can't complain

Nope not for the first 12 months.. It has to stay how it is.. Now with that being said, they might allow you to cancel if they see you purchased a season pass under the same name for the same user.. I'm sure cs might make an exception for that but really I don't know.. The FAQ says to call them if you want to change to a regular pass so I am not sure how they deal with that

You can get great deals on memberships during some parts of the year.. Mine is going on its third year now and I have had no price increase. I pay $5.23/month for a gold with free parking and then $4 something for a regular.. Now I did get mine when they where brand new and I have some special edition but I love the membership Plus, I get to keep the same card every year.. No processing of new cards is a big plus!! Plus after your contract is up (12 months) you can cancel with no fee.. Basically if you buy your membership at the first of the season you can get a $5 trip the second season then cancel if you like!! Haha.. Just saying..

It's mixed if it rains.. Sometimes the coasters are open sometimes they aren't.. I have been there with pouring rain and nothing closed but been there in a drizzle and half the park closes.. Of course if there is a storm in the area the rides will also close.. It really just depends!! Lol It has also been a mixed bag in my experience, but generally most things stay open in rain if it is only rain. Mind Bender and Dare Devil Dive seem to be the most rain sensitive of the big rides. For Mind Bender, that is probably due to the fact that it uses friction braking and the brakes are mostly uncovered. DDD just seems to be highly fickle to changes in weather in general and often doesn’t open with the park. Exactly.. When it rains some of the rides start operating poorly. If that happens they will close.. Sometimes they operate fine and stay open.. I have been on mind bender several times in the rain but have also seen it closed several times in the rain Like you said, I believe the general rule is rides are open if it rains but rain can cause them to start operating poorly and close Thunder and lightening will make them close though.. High wind will also take some rides down.

Yeah and when I think of something relaxing to cool off at a water park that's not a slide or wave pool, I think of lazy river.. I'd use it anyways But yeah that was the only time I met Dale in person and he was just walking around the wave pool looking and watching people.. He was by himself haha.. I think he said he had an interview in an hour or so, and he just wanted to come down early and see what all was going on.. He was real open to all he questions I was asking I didn't want to take much of his time so all of my questions revolved around the water park When you are in a situation like that you wanna ask everything but then can't think of questions haha.. And you also worry about taking up all of his time.. I only talked to him about 5 - 10 mins between waves at the wave pool. (He wasn't in the pool just standing in front of it haha) I also asked why they built hurricane harbor with white water and why they decided to make it free and got the same answer as you.. To lower ride lines and build a place in hope of pulling hundreds of people away from the rides

Great update! Dale is a great park president! I emailed the park for something customer service related last year.. A T-shirt issue or something and he replied the email personally! It was on a holiday and I was very surprised!!! He is very aware of issues in the park and has the park headed in the right direction I believe.. I also met him last season the weekend before hurricane harbor opened.. It had a soft unannounced opening and I just happened to be in the park that weekend.. Hurricane harbor had probably less than 100 people on it. It rocked! No waits on slides.. But during that day he also told me there where plans to expand . he asked my suggestions and I mentioned lazy river.. He said they have been discussing adding just that but nothing official yet.. He did say something would be added for those that want to cool off but not ride slides or wave pool. That's why I suggested a lazy river. But anyways thanks for your update! Full of good information
