  1. I am 90% certain it is going to be a B&M. The footers alone match Diamondback and Leviathan. Also if you look back at page 584, you can see 2 rectangular dug outs. This is where the station might end up being. Look at this photo: Along the station track is a rectangular dug out filled with concrete. My predictions: A. The grouping of footers closet to the restrooms is where the transfer and maintenance will be. The coaster will come in toward the direction of Invertigo, and turn to the left similar to Diamondback, but will not be a complete 180degree turn. This is where the station will be. You will board the train facing Adventure Express. B. Unless the transfer and maintenance area are between the station and lift hill as seen on Dragon Challenge, then you will be boarding the train facing Drop Tower and the skycoaster. The train will dispatch and make a right hand turn, pass the transfer and maintenance, where it will finally start climbing the lift hill. In this photo, you can see the Dragon Challenge transfer and maintenance:
  2. There's no way that the track is complete. There is not enough room at the Batavia plant to put an entire coaster of this size. From my observations, all completed track and supports are placed in the front or side of the building. Then loaded, and shipped. When Diamondback was in production, they shipped the coaster to the park over the course of several months. This included every support, and each of the 129 sections of track.
  3. I've been on it over 3000 times. Welcome to the thousand ride club! I have been in the "Thousand Club" for quite some time now, I just slacked off toward the end on last season. If you have ridden Diamondback that much, chances are, we have met. My name is Jesse, I usually ride with an older gentlemen named Gary who has the record on Diamondback with nearly 10,000 rides which he will obtain in the next month or so. Who are you?
  4. I don't think KI's coaster is being produced yet. It looks as if it were the final parts of Flying Over The Rainforest laying out front.
  5. I have ridden all three US B&M wing coasters. I rode Gatekeeper 30 times on media day. It actually got better and faster each time I rode. Some of you may not have noticed, but the camel back actually has potential for air time. I felt it several times in various locations on the trains. If you want a forceful ride on GK, sit in row 8 on the right hand wing. The dive loop next to Blue Streak is surprisingly forceful. On Wild Eagle, if you sit in the back on either side, you will get a nice air time sensation on the drop. Also, it keeps it's quick pace throughout the entire ride. Unlike X Flight and Gatekeeper that loose their speed in the inversions.
  6. They were a dark color. Almost similar to Mantis I want to say. As I said, I drove by because the large doors in front were open. I did not get a chance to snoop and investigate.
  7. I drove by Clermont Steel today. There was 1 section of green track on the side of the building (matched the color of Flying Over The Rainforest), and quite a few supports in front. The supports seemed to be low to the ground portions of the coaster they belong to. The front doors of the building were open so I did not stop. I did have a dream last night that they installed a Batman themed wing coaster. Basically it was Batman the Ride without inversions!....LOL
  8. I would hate for that person to have been on Windseeker in Cali when it broke down!
  9. That had to be an extremely slow news day. I am willing to bet if the woman didn't call 911 that we wouldn't hear about it even if we were at the park that day. It was this morning! I am going to the park at 730 tonight, and hosting a candle lit vigil in memory of the 30 people who were evacuated off the ride. Anyone care to join me?
  10. 5 to 10 minutes once everyone is on the ground. It's not that far.
  11. Prayers to those who became stuck on the Beast this morning. Such a tragedy. I hope everyone can recover and put their lives back together. I mean a twister completely leveled a school with kids in it 2 days ago, and the news is reporting a coaster SAFETY SHUT DOWN???? Of course, this is Cincinnati. Typical Ohio news casts. They cover stupid stuff like, "Dog can fart Tic Tok by Ke$ha. Tonight at 6!!!"
  12. No. When they call, the first thing they say is "What roller coaster you riding today?"
  13. PICTURE IT... Tampa. June. 1993. Kumba had been open for 2 months by now, and made the front page of the Ocala newspaper. Since I first seen in on the front page, and on TV commecials, all I talked about was Kumba. I had to ride it! My parents finally gave in and took me to BGT so I could ride. Upon reaching the line the was across the bridge stretching nearly to the bumper cars, a train zoomed over the walkway. I vowed right there, that I would never get on it! Scorpion, no problem. Python, no problem. Kumba, no way! I finally got up the courage to ride. As luck would have it, Kumba broke down as we joined the line. We ended up working our way to the front of the park, and left. Fast forward to 2 months later.. My parents took me BACK to BGT so I could ride. The following statement from my mother encouraged me to actually ride: "You're going to ride it, or you're grounded." So, I rode it! That was the beginning of my crazy obsession!
  14. As of this post I am up to 1,075 rides on Diamondback. I am sure I have more on Kumba, but I was not into counting when I started riding Kumba.
  15. Picture it! Sandusky 2011. It was a monsoon in the early after noon. No rides were operating. At least half of the parks attendance walked out the front gate while I took shelter under the overhang at the coffee shop. Suddenly, I notice a Blue Streak train crest the lift hill. About 4 minutes later, a Blue Streak train crested with passengers. "Let's go!" I said to my friend at the time. We splished and splashed as we made our way to Blue Streak in the downpour. We got several front seat rides. While in line for the last row, I happened to notice Wicked Twister launching. "Is it me, or did WT just launch?" I said. Sure enough, Wicked Twister has reopened during the downpour. So, after the final ride on Blue Streak, we waved goodbye to the sopping wet people standing in the closed line of Raptor, and squished our way over to Wicked Twister. Incidentally, we got 4 or 5 "laps" on Wicked Twister by the time the rain passed. Moral of the story: Don't be a wuss!
  16. IF the inverted B&M rumor comes to truth, I hope it does not sound as awful as Raptor in the station. Raptor is the worst B&M inverted in terms of SOUNDING like it is falling apart. Montu, Alpie, Talon, Patriot, 4 Batman clones withing 7 hours of Cincinnati, Dragon Challenge, do not make that loud banging sound that Raptor makes entering and leaving the station. After riding all 3 wing coasters in the US, the only one that clicks is Gatekeeper. I thought it was the chain dogs and anti roll back devices, but it was the wheels clicking. Chain dogs and anti roll backs have a completely different sound. KI has had pretty decent success and reliability with Diamondback, I hope they put in a B&M giga.
  17. I love a good Tilt-A-Whirl. Cedar Point's is the best I have ridden. You can really get that this spinning! Coney Island Cincinnati has one too, but I have only been to that park once. I want KI to get one so bad!
  18. I kind of liked Boss when I visited SFStL. I also have a Scooby Doo boat sinking story!
  19. We could start a revolution! I say "That's so straight" at the right moment. We all should start doing it! BTW, I'm posting that on my Facebook.
  20. Ah, ok. I remember you. I was kind of annoyed that you were holding the line up!....LOL The lap bars releasing was a nice touch. It also startled guests that weren't expecting it.
  21. Yes, Firehawk and Flight of Fear can at times have the longest lines in the park. Beast's wait can get quite lengthy, followed by Diamondback. However, when Diamondback's queue is full to the sign, it is 45 minutes to the station. Vortex can get a pretty lengthy wait was well, but it and Diamondback are both people eaters. Windseeker's full queue is only 3 - 4 full cycles. Sundays through Thursdays are typically the best for getting multiple rides. I usually visit twice a week. Last Sunday of the season is usually DEAD. I warn you. KI is also day care. Parents drop their brats off then go to work, or where ever. They are rude, cuss like sailors, and line jump.
  22. Love that Kumba is on the list. It is hands down my favorite B&M. I rode it back in 1993 when it was brand new, and it still rides today like it did back then. Where do you draw the line at "old school", and "current?" 1990 - Stand Up (Iron Wolf - SFGA) 1992 - Inverted (Batman The Ride - SFGA) 1993 - Sitdown (Kumba - BGT) 1998 - Dive Machine (Oblivion - AT) 1999 - Hyper (Apollo's Chariot - BGW) 1999 - Floorless (Bizarro - SFGAd) 1999 - Hyper 200ft + (Raging Bull SFGA) 2002 - Flying (Air - AT) 2011 - Winged (Raptor - Gardaland) 2012 - Giga (Leviathan -CW)
  23. There is a sign at The Wildcat at HersheyPark instructing single riders to board toward the middle of the train. I looked at it, and said "yeah, right!" Then got my front seat ride on the most boring wooden coaster I have ever ridden.
  24. When I worked at Rhino Rally back in 2001-2002 our handicap policy was the disabled person and 3 others may ride at once. They also had to wait for the designated "handicap" vehicle. If they had more than 3 people with them, and they all wanted to ride, the group was split, and the "handicap" person had to ride with each group. I am not sure of the whole policy for the coasters, but I do know that at Kumba and Montu, guests boarding from the exit were not allowed in rows 1 or 8.
  25. Iron Dragon valleyed on media day after a big, loud banging sound. Maverick Woodstock Force Leviathan
