  1. Kumba is my number one steel coaster. Do a good job. Remember, there is a height difference in the land that Kumba sits on. Be sure to adjust accordingly.
  2. I usually only go to Cedar Point on a Monday. A tip I would give anyone: park at the Soak City lot, enter by Magnum, and head toward Maverick first. Kings Island isn't too bad during the week. I am not expecting the park to be extremely crowded this summer due to The Beach waterpark reopening this year. They offered 2013 passes to everyone who bought a 2012 pass before they made the announcement to close. I agree with riding Firehawk first. Afterwards, do not zig zag. Ride things as you come to them. Diamondback's queue when it is FULL is 45 minutes from the sign to the station. It's not too bad as it is a people eater. Flight of Fear's queue is not too bad once you are inside the hanger. I have seen Back Lot with a full queue, but more times than not, the queue is only half full and only takes 30 - 45 minutes. If they bring it back this year, eat at Backyard BBQ. Gold and Platinum get a discount. If not, have Hank's Burrito Shack. It's quite good and decently priced for all you get. You can pay a little extra (I think it's 4.99 for a 32oz) at Hank's if you want a drink from the Freestyle machine, but if you go around to the bar behind Hank's, you can get a regular soft drink for 3.99 I think. My favorite snack throughout the day is (depending what I am in the mood for) either Rivertown Potato Works or the pretzels! The pretzels are hand rolled, not the frozen "Soft Pretzels" they used to sell. The pizza place in RIvertown next to Beast is pretty good. I am not really a fan of Larosa's, but it usually has a shorter line than the one on International Street. I went to the park 39 times in 2011, only 9 in 2012, ( I was slacking). I plan to make up for it this season.
  3. Had a great day at KI yesterday! Was very busy and opted to buy Fast Lane. (On very rare occasions I buy Fast Lane at KI). Hanks Burrito Shack is awesome. Ride count: Diamondback - 10 Beast - 2 Once each on Vortex, Firehawk, Flight of Fear, Adventure Express, Delerium, Invertigo, Drop Tower, Boo Blasters, and Flight Deck. Back Lot - 1 and a half. Both Back Lot and Flight Deck's seat belts had been removed. Flight of Fear still has seat belts.
  4. I start and end my day on Diamondback, with rides on Diamondback in between! Once again, this is how excited I am to ride Diamondback. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fi2Afxm7JQw
  5. ^Gotta figure in the parking for each park too. My not seem like a lot, but it adds up.
  6. I was thinking the same thing! OH NO YOU DIDN'T! * bobs and weaves * I SEEN HIM FIRST!
  7. So you're guessing it will be an Aqualoop? No, I never thought of that. Look, I know that the water park is very busy, (1 hour wait for Wildebeest, yeah, um, no thanks) but it is time for a major expansion in the dry park. This is me when I am at Holiday World getting ready to ride Voyage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fi2Afxm7JQw
  8. ^ You're a cutie, surprised no one has snatched you up yet. I'll be your "coaster boyfriend"! (Can't be your real boyfriend, I've been claimed.)
  9. You won't get in on Sunday. They are closed for a private party.
  10. Wynonna Judd in Cincinnati Ohio. 10-22-11 Seen her several times over the years. Even met her a few times! It is to the point now that she recognizes Dennis and I in the audience. This was my first time at the Grand Ole Opry. I walked to the stage to get some photos, she sees me and says, "I know you."
  11. Nope, no new coasters for Holiday World. Lately it's been water park expansion after water park expansion. Next year will be a water coaster even longer than Mammoth named Humpback or something. (can't think of any land mammals bigger than a mammoth.) It is time though for Holiday World to get a nice steel coaster. I think a nice B&M about the size of Hydra would work nicely at Holiday World.
  12. Please! I grew up with all those shows! MARCIA MARCIA MARCIA!
  13. I remember Questor! Not sure about now, but when I worked there in 2001-2002, the crystal was still in the old exit of Questor. The exit was converted to storage when they re routed it toward Egypt. See the dolphin show many times! Always loved the mime before the show!
  14. I think this person is trying to make me jealous, since he knows how much I love B&M coasters. Giving this person's track record of "expanding the truth", I would expect the coaster to launch backward before I believe him about this issue. I can clearly see in the video the test dummys and how the train is running sluggishly due to the softer wheels. Thanks Robb for your response.
  15. At any moment while you where there, did you see any riders? Reason I ask... I have a friend who states that he was there, who claims that he rode it for the "video shoot" , or "TV Commercial" I know he was at the park, because he sent me a photo of it testing from his phone. BTW, I do not believe this person at all. I just want to clear it up. It would suck for him if I catch him in a lie!
  16. ^^ That T-Rex did not do anything except stand there. It does not move.... .... unless the wind knocks it over, and they remove it for routine maintenance.
  17. Perhaps you meant popular, not profitable? Phoenix is a very reliable ride with decent capacity for a flat ride with one vehicle. Not to mention quite fun! Not only for riders, but onlookers as well. ^^I remember Crazy Camel!! I wish they were able to save the simulator. Let's face it, when they put in Akbar Adventure Tours the ride went downhill. I do believe that building would be PERFECT for a drop tower, or a pair of drop towers.
  18. ^^Flight of Fear's line is not too bad. The usually get the trains dispatched pretty quickly. Full inside queue is about 45 minutes to an hour. Same as a full Diamondback queue which is exactly 45 minutes from the entrance to boarding the train. TRex is closed for routine maintenance!
  19. I believe the story about the ground not being stable enough for a tower ride. Florida sits on top of an aquifer. The Floridian Aquifer is an underground system of water filled caves and caverns. This is where Florida residents who live in the country get their water. A long pipe is inserted into the ground, and a pump draws the water into the home. (During a storm, when the electric goes out, there is NO running water!) Above the aquifer, is a limestone layer, then soil, then surface. If you dig too deep in Florida, you will hit water. Here is an example: The limestone acts as a natural filter, and the water comes out like this: Now, this did not stop Universal from building two towers side by side. Perhaps because BGT is so close to the Gulf coast, they may want to play it safe.
  20. Yup. I can't make media day, or opening day but I can at least make opening weekend! Never done a wing rider, no idea if it has any real different feel to it but at least this the biggest and fastest one so far. COMPLETELY different feeling than a regular B&M.
  21. Since this is the "Sexual Orientation" thread: I wanted to share one of my theme park pet peeves. There's always that person who says, "I don't care what you do, just don't do it in front of me." or "Don't rub it in my face." After I have been standing in line for 3 damn days for a ride, the last thing I want to see is a man and woman making out in front of me. A theme park is NOT the place for that. When I go to Pride Night @ Kings Island, I usually go by myself because in September it is often cold that night. He can't handle coasters in less than 80 degrees. When he DOES go to Pride Night, we hold hands, but we aren't jumping each others bone. Thoughts?
  22. Great models! I'm "sheikra_rocks" from the old CD forums. It is so hard to get my hands on new CD stuff lately.
