  1. Enjoy your first rides on El Toro and I305. They'll blow your mind. My next park is undetermined at the moment. It will either be Canada's Wonderland or Michigan's Adventure. It all depends on what gets planned first.
  2. That's sad about Ravine Flyer II being rough. When I was there last June, it was still pretty smooth. Those PTC's mangle the track something fierce.
  3. My last ride was Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland. Not sure what/when my next ride will be, which is kind of depressing.
  4. Positive G's would probably be S:UF's pretzel loop at SFGAdv. That's easily the best part of the ride. Negative G's is El Toro's Rolling Thunder hill. That thing is LEGENDARY. Lateral G's would be the first turn on I305. I was extremely close to blacking out on my first ride...definitely was not prepared for how intense that was. (or is that positive G's? I dunno)
  5. Just got to Canada's Wonderland and am milling around the front entrance with a bunch of other marathon riders. Should be a great day for a great cause.
  6. My last coaster ride was Phoenix at Knoebels yesterday. I am sad I'm not riding it right now.
  7. ^The rattle is going to make Coasting for Kids event on the 10th quite interesting It's not a painful rattle (yet)...but it is very noticeable. I suppose after riding for 8 hours, it will be a little rough on the back. I found that riding in the centre seats doesn't have too bad of a rattle.
  8. The answer to both questions is Adventure Express at Kings Island. Crazy animatronics! Lighting! Music! Suspense! End of the ride? Simultaneously awesome and terrible.
  9. A whole bunch of parks are coming up for me: June 2: Kings Dominion/Busch Gardens Williamsburg June 3: Busch Gardens Williamsburg June 4: Kings Dominion June 5: Six Flags America June 6: Six Flags Great Adventure June 7: Dorney Park June 8: Knoebels June 10: Canada's Wonderland (Give Kids the World day...DONATE TO ME!) Needless to say, the first bit of June is going to be exciting.
  10. Was at the park all day yesterday, and oh man was it packed. Though, with it being the long weekend and all, it was totally expected. Leviathan's line was absolutely massive. The line stretched all the way back to Milk Cans and stayed that way for the majority of the day. Hell, they even had to make an overflow queue for Behemoth. Luckily, we tried out the new Fast Lane and it made all the difference in the world. 13 Leviathan and 10 Behemoth rides can't be wrong. The only real wait we had was a one hour wait for Boo Blasters. Why we waited an hour for that? I will never know. Anyways...Leviathan is running FANTASTIC now that it's warm. The camelbacks provide very strong and sustained floater air and the small hill after the first overbank freakin' rules. I'd easily put Leviathan in my top 5 at this point. Behemoth seems to be developing a pretty nasty rattle, especially on the outside seats, which is kind of sad. It's still a fun ride, but it's definitely getting pretty shaky.
  11. I love that you made it down to Dayton to check out the Air Force Museum (and the remains of Touchdown Jesus). Did you guys take the buses out to the Air Force One they have on site?
  12. Great pictures! I loved Seabreeze and Martin's when I visited in 2010. Bobsleds was all sorts of messed up, but still awesome. I need to get back to Martin's to grab more rides on Silver Comet.
  13. I've already got my Cedar Fair Platinum Pass (Wonderland edition). I still need to buy my Six Flags season pass since I'll be hitting up a few Six Flags parks this June.
  14. No worries. The crew was doing a good job and the only times trains were stacked was during the odd "technical difficulty". I was on the last train of the night and they had us stacked on the inclined brake run while they put the train in the station in the storage barn. I found it odd that they would do that with people still on the track, but it was interesting to watch.
  15. During passholder night, they typically had one in the station, one on the course and one going up the lift. If they were stacking, the train would typically stop on the inclined portion of the brakes.
  16. I as well braved the cold and wind last night to get my first rides in on Leviathan. This ride absolutely did not disappoint. My favourite part of the ride is easily the small airtime hill after the first overbank as it provides both fantastic air and a great sense of speed. Even with the temperature being quite cold last night, the ride was still hauling ass and provided decent forces on the camelbacks and turns. Based on what I experienced last night, when this ride gets nice and warm in the summer, it's going to be amazing. Also, it appeared the cold kept a lot of people away from the park, so the line for Leviathan (and everything else) was pretty much non-existant. We ended up getting 8 rides on Leviathan, which made for happy and satisfied coaster enthusiasts. Here are some pictures from last night! Fancy sign/fountain! The lift is quicker than I thought it would be, but it's still slow. B&M should have called Intamin to borrow their cable lift. Good floater air coming over this hill The hammerhead does this weird "kick" when it reaches the apex of the curve. Kind of weird, but enjoyable. Leviathan absolutely dominates Dragon Fire now. And yes...the brake run is taller than Dragon Fire. First drop at sunset More floaty goodness Hammerhead The turns all gave very good sensations of speed. Leviathan is most certainly not Behemoth 2.0 Sign all lit up nicely at night
  17. Only two and a half hours to go until Season Pass Preview Night starts and I get my first ride on Leviathan. I haven't been this excited for a new coaster in a long time.
  18. That's actually the best thing to do (apart from Piers' recommendation of heroin). Whenever I go to a park, the time spent in queue is usually spent either talking about cars or making fun of other people in line. Good times.
  19. I have no idea why they wouldn't give Centreville first shot at the lease. It's a fantastic place for families to go in the summer (especially now that Ontario Place is dead).
  20. The only "special" coaster related thing I have is a piece of Wooden Warrior from Quassy. I use it as a paperweight in the office.
  21. In an effort to feel like I was in high school again, I went to go see Planet Smashers in Toronto on Friday. The last time I saw them was in 2003, so it had definitely been a while. They still put on a great show, and it was nice to see live ska for the first time in almost a decade. Supporting them was some random Toronto band, Beat Down and Big D and the Kids Table. Big D is another one of those bands I loved back in the day and haven't seen in a very very long time. All in all, it was a great show with a really excited crowd. Here's a video of Big D and the Kids Table performing My next concert will be Gogol Bordello at the end of May. That's going to kick some serious ass.
  22. The crowds for preview night will be insane. I'm pretty sure I'm only getting one ride on Leviathan and nothing else before the park closes.
  23. I will most certainly be at Canada's Wonderland for passholder preview night. Looking forward to getting my first taste of Leviathan.
  24. That is most certainly good news. I'm hitting up BGW at the start of June and was a little apprehensive about it being open on time.
  25. Done! You're now at your $75! This thread makes me very VERY proud to be a TPR member. Everyone here is amazing.
