Photo TR: The Kiwis Do Texas Midwest 2013
gerstlaueringvar replied to mattnz's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Wow! I didn't know too much things about KD except for i305 until just now! The park is so beautiful. Fantastic TR! Bad, I would be crying if NTaG, iRat, Shockwave, i305 and Xcelerator were all closed during my international coaster trip. I already felt totally frustrated knowing NTaG was closed and I said really inappropriate things during the trip about the three closed big coasters. How did you overcome this? Seems like Intamin god and RMC god were not on your side... But positively, you did not planned to go to SFGAd and see a closed El Toro -

I think those parks taught all Chinese parks about park operation -

Lifetime Passes

What if I died after I bought the pass... -
Yup, it was running fantastic in the opening year and things started to change since 2011. The park might started to take less care on it so it went rough. Actually my arm hit in the branch of a tree at the bottom of the first drop(it REALLY hurt!) but the ride op seemed did not care about my complaint... Well, other riders hold on really tight on any coaster so I might be the first and the only one getting hit.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

So the real problem wasn't load and exit at the same side but it was the space between the train and the air gates Doesn't seem like the kind of mistake that Intamin would make... Did Hershey designed the station instead? -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

But I don't think GCI can make it to Mitch Hawker's top three with a price of $10 million like RMC. And from what I know, RMC also wins in the cost of maintainence. Plus, Alan did not say they cannot make a topper track refurb to an existing woodie I think the main problem is that Cedar Fair might need a couple of years to make sure they are not making a mistake starting their business with RMC. -

^^ So now the exit is at the other side of the station? -
I think RMC was the superstar of IAAPA 2013. Maybe 2014, 2015 as well. I really didn't think this year's IAAPA lacks great news. With all the new projects from those great manufactuurers, this year is as great as the previous years. I love the new editing of the video and a huge thank you to all TPR people who made a great update of IAAPA, as always.

I waited for Psyclone on opening weekend for 4 hours. Line snaked almost to viper. I think that was the worse one. Made that mistake one time. Lol. I've always gone on non busy days. Usually in the winter. Maybe it's just that my expectations are low I guess. To be honest. There was a period between 1992-1999. That I didn't go, as I moved across the country... I just go there to ride. Don't care about much else. Was Psyclone really bad from day one? Or was it like a lot of other wooden coasters that deteriorate and become rough over time? It was damaged on an earthquake after a couple of years and the park couldn't make it back to how it used to be.

Oops, shouldn't trust the model too much lol. -
I didn't find Magic Mountain maintain their rides badly except for Apocalypse. But the extremely slow lines made me really angry. It was a Saturday duting summer vacation and Tatsu, Ninja, Batman was running ONE train! Riddler, Scream and X2 took forever to load and unload that riders even complain about waiting at the brake run. Other than that, it was pretty good because all the parks I have been to was Happy Valley parks and Chimelong Parks This summer, however, after I went to Silver Dollar City, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Six Flags Great America and Cedar Point... I really think SFMM is doing really terrible.

Why did I think the one with a loop looks like a Jet Coaster Looks like a nice park, hopefully we would see a nice Intamin going there. -

I couldn't handle that as I cannot even stand the dizziness on a spinning cup. Even though I know Top Spin goes towards a different direction... -
