  1. [snarky comment about people who plan/book trips around a Eurofighter] 'New Generation' Euro-fighter with a worlds first element and at least 8 loops you should say.
  2. But rcdb has it listed as a Gerstlauer...? You're hilarious. Gerst have made thrilling rides. Popular rides. This will be their best work yet.
  3. Got this through email.
  4. There's something very majestic about that thing, so far. Impressive.
  5. That thing is absolutely insane...
  6. Always interesting to see which direction Alton will take with their marketing. I predict over the top, ridiculous statements type marketing. Which would actually work this time as this is going to be a thrilling ride.
  7. Finally. Will be good to see the pic updates over the next few weeks now we have track going up.
  8. If there's any good lookers in the queue I normally try to get the sweet talk going. (Worked well when in the USA, accent and all) - A few times there's been a few flirters, got a few numbers, especially when you're stuck in the line for hours on end. ^^ Haha.
  9. I started working on a few custom soundtracks for Alton Towers rides a year or so back, and I thought I'd share this one with you. I tried creating a simple track for Th13teen, with some FX and synths to create the atmosphere you feel when on the ride. Th13teen - Update: Here's my SW7 soundtrack - I appreciate any comments. It's all a bit of fun after all.
  10. Oh, you learn something new every day. Thanks Chuck!
  11. Hex at Alton Towers. I've heard a lot of people in the past say it's just a one trick pony, which annoys me as it's a hell of a ride with a brilliant story.
  12. That looks incredible. Is that a 'trap door' drop slide I see, ala Bomb Bay?
  13. I'd like to think he was a whiskey drinker. Though the thought of Friar Tuck and alcohol just reminds me of the Disney animated movie where the snake gets stuck in the barrel and comes out wasted.
  14. You have some great ideas on that site.
  15. Really, really impressed with the new Test Track experience. Looking forward to my trip in January. Epcot is such a wonderful park with huge variety.
  16. Well, turns out that picture was taken from here. A shame really, as it's a beautiful looking train. Would be brilliant if it's similar.
  17. 'Rumored' that this could be the design for the SW7 trains. With it confirmed that it will be 4 rows of 4, this could well be it.
  18. It's one hell of an experience that's for sure. Stroke stroke stroke.
  19. Well, you know Christmas is coming when the downtown decorations are up, the smells from the market stalls catch your senses, and Paul McCartney's 'Wonderful Christmas time' is playing and echoing around the street. I thought I'd share a few photos with you all, that not only made me chuckle, but made me wish I was a kid again! A beautifully cold day in Nottingham, hundreds of people lining the streets doing their shopping, and an exceptionally small but surprising fairground in the middle of the town square just popped out of nowhere as I turned the streets - and I couldn't resist walking through. To my surprise, there was a quite tall, and fast, Star Flyer. Bearing in mind it's around 0 degrees (celcius), I thought I'd give this freeze machine a miss for today. But the beautiful merry go-round was worth a go, and provided a few laughs for me and my family. Many stalls of different foods and nik-naks filled the street, and I even got to taste an ostrich burger (which was delicious I might add). The Cadbury hot chocolate stand was popular, with the option of having a 'flake' coming out of the top. How could I resist a flake? The Reindeer Steeplechase (see what I did there?) was amusing to say the least. Could you imagine Blackpool replacing the horses with Reindeer for Christmas? Mwaha... and as for the Friar Tuck themed bar, well, that was the perfect end to a nice wander around this Christmas Wonderland. I hope you enjoy the photos that I managed to take, apologies for the lack of quality. 'A Christmas Wonderland'. With a classic carousel to start off with. I couldn't resist. So the tune that was being played from the merry go-round was a sort of polyphonic carousel-like version of 'Circle of life'. Always got time for a ride or two. Town hall with Xmas decorations. Looks nice indeed. The tree is up! But the lights haven't officially been turned on yet! The Star Flyer from a distance. Do you think this ride is compensating for something? It looked bloody freezing up there! I wouldn't want to get stuck on this. Bearing in mind how many are stalling lately, I wouldn't be surprised if it happened. Human icicles anyone? Looks quite majestic with town hall in the background. REINDEER STEEPLECHASE CREDIT. *giggity* I can't name all of the Reindeer. There's Rudolph, and erm, Dancer, Prancer and erm... Dave? Santa may need these back pretty soon. Giant snow globe alert! Result! Petty my phone died before I could take any pictures from inside. Had myself a lovely Newcastle Brown Ale and a mince pie. Hearty hearty food. Jolly jolly and all that. I hope you enjoyed the few photos I took!
  20. That is one pretty coaster. That shade of blue is so picture friendly.
  21. I seen this a while ago when it was aired on UK TV. As much as I find it laughable, it's really more 'interesting' to me how the human mind works. This has happened before, and will happen again. She literally is in love with the ride, to her it's alive, and she actually thinks she is making love with it. That ride is going to die before she does, It'll be interesting which ride she takes a liking to next. "I want your fluids" - *giggity*.
  22. Despite the mixed views the actual ride gets - it's still got a unique and 'cool' station. "If you go down to the woods today.." Despite the mixed reactions this ride gets - I still think it looks unique and the station is themed well. Working Tesla coil in the station. A mysterious girls voice counts up to the number 13... 1...2... she gets to 13 and the Telsa turns on ... Needless to say this has scared a lot of unexpecting guests.
  23. I doubt it. Apologies if I missed the brief. Possibly mention in your original post that you're looking for rides that we can actually sign up for, so silly numptys like myself don't grab the wrong end of the stick. Still, amazing, and a pity it's not open for the public. Another one I'll add to the mix, for a total OMG WTF WERE THEY THINKING type ride is this contraption: The Human Trebuchet. As you can see in this video (she broke her pelvis!) - this was a crazy ass idea and unfortunately someone lose their life a few years ago. Link - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/2542973.stm - The local news has reported that people want to bring back this but with a larger net. So this could make a return. Are they crazy? Oh, and check this out. It's called a Shweeb, from New Zealand: http://www.shweeb.co.nz/ The Worlds First Human Powered Monorail Track! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDpwkZirSNU WTF. I WANT A GO. They look like they get some decent speed. It's like a mini-monorail on roids - that you control yourself, oh, and it DUELS....
