  1. The story is starting to unfold...a bit... Epic.
  2. I agree with you totally. My comment was said with much sarcasm... The original slogan was something along these lines; Life got you down? Lost your smile? So you're not far off.
  3. There's been plenty of context. Most of it based around the Ministry of Joy, used for Scarefest. Watch this... http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=OUFWBN9xSIQ&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DOUFWBN9xSIQ%26feature%3Dyoutu.be&gl=GB Makes a good storyline in my opinion. By context, I meant if you've never heard of the coaster before, and you've never heard of the storyline. Fair point then. "Why is it called that?" - will no doubt be the number one thing said by the GP this year.

  5. Yup, just been confirmed. I quite like it, and I don't know why. It's unique ill give them that.
  6. Except it says these words: Didn't see that. Apologies. The Smiler it is then!
  7. That's exactly what I got out of that photo. "Girl goes insane due to constant spinning(inversions)." Honestly, this "washer machine" gimmick is pathetic. I really hope this isn't their key selling point, because if so, "SW#" projects will cease to excite me anymore. It's a potentially unique gimmick attached to a pretty good looking coaster...don't see why the hate. The idea sounds nice, just not "that" exciting to me. From all the layout shots and current rumors, thIS SW project IS really are loosing its touch (to me). It still looks like a great ride, don't think I'm simply bashing this. This ride looks fun, it's just the whole "washing machine" gimmick that throws it off for me. I don't love it and don't completely hate it, its just really seems to be there simply for bragging rights, which is what this coaster seems to be built for. Making it loose its "umph"for me. The SW projects just keep getting less and less exciting (again, to me). I like the coaster, just not this unnecessary gimmick. It's just......really hard to explain. There's so much wrong with that post. How obtuse do you want to be? From the layouts? Current rumours? The washing machine gimmick has NOT BEEN CONFIRMED. So how you can use it to force an opinion is ridiculous. It is not 'there for bragging rights' is it? What does that even mean? It's not even there yet! Built for bragging rights? What a ridiculous thing to say. Til you provide perfect valid points against a possible secret element, then I can only disregard the current points you make there. If such a gimmick comes to fruition, then you're open to your opinion, but stop the hating. For the sake of hating.
  8. It is not confirmation. Not yet. That is just the metro catching onto the hype. It's only confirmation when AltonTowers release the name. Looks epic in the snow though.
  9. Erm... The video has been removed from his account. Someone released an official video too early me thinks! Someone already got it up on YouTube... http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=OUFWBN9xSIQ&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DOUFWBN9xSIQ%26feature%3Dyoutu.be&gl=GB
  10. OK, here's a bit of (un)official marketing. And pretty well done as well. For 'The Smiler'.. http://vimeo.com/56623975 Anything like this officially, would be very good. It's quite creepy!
  11. That's what I was thinking when I read it. Surely the author was in on it? If not, then it's pretty funny how oblivious they are to something like you say, can be found out in 2 minutes of research. I personally think they've linked up with the media here. Probably the farmers too, obviously to get permission and also to tell them to play dumb. It actually made it into 'The Sun' too! So many media outlets were either in partnership, or baaaaa-fled (as they put it). http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4749754/Sheep-branded-with-smiley-face.html With a following story explaining that it was actually Alton that did it. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/18/creepy-sheep-mystery-solved-branded-smiley-faces-britain_n_2507567.html
  12. I'd like The Smiler as the name. It's unique. Rememberable. This ride will have a different feel to others. I love the irony in having a coaster with over 10 loops, pretty darn scary to the GP, and calling it The Smiler. It fits in totally with a theme of trying to keep you calm and relaxed when you're about to have tests performed in you. Think false sense of security.
  13. Pretty imaginative a and epic so far!! Train Stations: Leeds train station : Birmingham University Station: Posters: Elephant & Castle Tube Station: Old Street, London: Projections: Waterloo & Covent Garden [credit to Jay] Other Merlin Attractions: Legoland Discovery Centre, The Trafford Centre Barton Square [credit to Ellie on TST]: Sealife Centre, Birmingham: Sealife Brighton: Social Media [Facebook, Twitter etc]: Marketing Stunts: #Creepysheep: Daily Mail Article ... As you can see from one of the social media pics above, tweeted by Alton Towers. It clearly says 'the Inoculator'. Possibly the name?
  14. Hahaha! ... that is genius!
  15. Images from towerstimes.co.uk - Some pretty spectacular images. Looks pretttty.
  16. Looks like that will happen. It will duel itself at many points through the ride. Pov at 2:50 Wow. How accurate is this? Whoever did it did a really good job... Nemesis94, I believe. He's done some very good recreations. It is taken that this is about 90% accurate of SW7 - considering the plans were released, and followed to a tee. The only part missing is before the lift hill (indoor section and possible secret element).
  17. Looks like that will happen. It will duel itself at many points through the ride. Pov at 2:50
  18. All the photos are up.. http://forum.towerstimes.co.uk/sw7-91/latest-photo-updates-(latest-update-10th-december-2012)/ Wow....twisty!
  19. Looks like there could be some nice views from that location.
  20. Stunning work. Very very well done.
  21. Possibly. It could just be pure spin.
  22. The strong rumour is of 8 outside, possible one inversion inside (inline twist/barrel roll) and 5 inversions on the 'secret washing machine element'. Most recent photo has shown part of the barrel roll track being put in place which confirms at least 9 inversions so far.
  23. Alton Towers have mentioned 'worlds first' and with TowersTimes having spoke to them about blurring out images of the secret element - it looks like there could be something?
