  1. ACE NE made a post about it, apparently it was announced at IAAPA. I knew the triple up was a goner months ago so it makes sense. I'll try to find out more if I go to the park this weekend.
  2. Sounds like the triple up is being replace by a double up designed by Alan Schilke. Seems like a double up would be pretty basic so maybe something about it is extreme and needs new trains.
  3. Martin & Vleminckx is doing the the re-tracking on BD and Wildcat during the off-season. Also, the park posted a picture of Invadr's millennium flyer car on Instagram so it is likely that Wildcat will be receiving these trains (unless BD is instead).
  4. I like the designs but I feel like they might restrict views a little. I really like creative front pieces but they should remain below the sight level.
  5. Lake Compounce 1. Boulder Dash 2. Phobia 3. Wildcat 4. Zoomerang 5. Kiddie Coaster Six Flags New England 1. Superman 2. Wicked Cyclone 3. Batman 4. Pandemonium 5. Thunderbolt 6. Catwoman's Whip 7. Mind Eraser 8. Flashback 9. GCG 10. Great Chase 11. Parking Lot Tram 12. Goliath
  6. Well according to my trusted source (park gm) that is simply not true.
  7. Went to the park for a quick visit today pretty much just for food, but managed to get a ride in on Superman. Got there around 3 and the cars were already in the overflow lot. lol Here is some great news.. VR is done on Superman! 3 out of the 4 boxes they put on cars 3 and 7 on each train were removed. Should have ditched it sooner. My guess is they are moving it to Mind Eraser for next year, which I have heard is indeed the case. The operator was also announcing that they need to send the train within 60 seconds to get people hustling. Awesome job SFNE. I rode once in the front on the red train and it was fantastic. Splash Water Falls is pretty much gone besides a small piece of the station building. Looks like they may be keeping it. I didn't go down to Cyclone but the app said the line was 85 mins. Superman was about an hour for the front row. Goliath still has two seats in the front row out of commission. That train is a complete disaster.
  8. Yeah the decorations around the park are nothing crazy, but the graveyard is amazing. The entrance to the park is pretty good this year as well. They are also removing the triple up next year and replacing it, and are also re-tracking a bunch of spots on both BD and Wildcat. I think next year will be a maintenance year. I also got 58 rides on opening weekend on BD so the triple up isn't keeping me away. As far as transportation from Hartford goes, if you really have no other way, uber might be your best bet, but it might be difficult to get back. It looks like CT Fastrak might be able to get you pretty close to the park, I would investigate that a little.
  9. Very exciting seeing those ledgers! It is true that the brackets are not fixed at a certain angle. When they first started putting those on Cyclone, they started putting track up within a week or two. Maybe they will announce it at the end of the month when track is likely to be in place.
  10. It is definitely interesting that all of those supports are gone. I would either say there is going to be a launch there or maybe a more drawn out pre-lift with a steeper lift.
  11. If this doesn't confirm it for you guys I don't know what will. Every single transformation had these trucks that showed up early to get started.
  12. 99% sure it is only good at the park you buy it at. If you go to SFNE a ton and live very close by, it seems like a great deal.
  13. Splash water Falls closes tomorrow, I think deconstruction will start very soon after as well. I think they will be taking it apart so it can be sold/relocated too but not positive.
  14. I heard from the GM and others that they are going to remove the triple up. I would love to see it get retracked but it's not looking likely. It would be cool if they turned it into just two hills, I wouldn't want to see the trick track back. GCI told them to install more ledgers on the triple up and they did it in two spots but it made the ride worse so they took off one of them. It was one of my favorite parts of the ride, but it's completely unbearable now. The rest of the ride is awesome and I got some crazy fast rides on it today. Most of the ride is very smooth if you sit in a front row.
  15. I tried to win a few times last week and didn't, but just saw these posts and entered again and I won. Guess I will have to go next year.
  16. Not completely. It's still very possible but considering they have been working on it this season, It would be very impractical for them to do that just to have it close and be converted. I am literally SO TIRED of people who say this without doing their research. Remember Medusa at Six Flags Mexico? Remember how Rocky Mountain came in and put topper track on it for the 2012 season? Remember how the very next year Six Flags announced that it would be closed to be converted? No? Shocker. Seriously. There's absolutely precedent for doing work on a ride before you convert it. Just because it could get RMC'ed in 2017 doesn't mean that they're going to let it fall to pieces up until then. You all know literally nothing about what Six Flags is planning, stop pretending like you're wiretapping eight conference calls a day. Now, back to ignoring the forums until speculation season is over... To piggyback a little, Cyclone at SFNE had a ton of topper track installed before the conversion also. Almost the entire first half was topper track by the time it was finally converted. Pretty sure they also re-tracked one or two of the last hills a year prior to closing. I would love to see an RMC at SFA so it gives me a reason to go back.
  17. Looks like Goliath has started testing! They have been working on the towers the past few days so it should be back up soon. Then down again soon.
  18. Anyone notice this picture on the Mean Streak page? Looks like an iron horse to me...
  19. Here is the POV https://player.vimeo.com/video/175920400 The track at the end doesn't look like it goes through completely. Might be a drop.
  20. If you are not first in line for Superman, don't bother unless you want to wait hours for VR. I went last Wednesday and the line was ridiculous the entire day but from 8:15 to closing I got three rides so I would wait until 8pm to get in line. They were often dispatching trains before the other one hit the brakes after 8pm. Of course they were still assigning seats after 8pm too and were corralling everyone into the gates like we were sheep. Also it is pretty much impossible to get front row on Cyclone and Superman because they let flash pass people in first so you have a better chance at winning the lottery than a front row ride if you are a regular guest.
  21. I won a VIP tour at SFGadv from the Facebook game Clink-it Coin Craze they had before. It was pretty awesome!
  22. Here are a few new pics of my Wicked Cyclone model. Still have a lot to do but it is getting there. I re-did the lift hill and the track from the double down to the first barrel roll. Will be putting up fences, paining the pathway, and finishing the supports and the station next.
  23. Wildcat has had a few issues this year but usually it is very reliable. If it is not up by Thursday it might be concerning but It will probably be open this weekend. I noticed yesterday that the maroon train was removed from the maintenance track so maybe they will manually put it on so they could run two trains for this weekend. The transfer track isn't finished so they would have to manually add it.
  24. ^single rider line is gone, no choice of seats. The line was massive today but I used two exit passes. They were doing 5-10+ minute dispatches, completely unacceptable. They also had a flash pass guy at the entrance trying to get people to buy them. Instead of fixing the problem, they want you to buy a flash pass. No thanks. Won't be back for a while.
