  1. Sounds like all of the S&S Free Spins around the world are closed. The SF app lists all of them closed and I heard Arashi is closed as well. Must be a recall from S&S, probably will be down for a while.
  2. There were two trains running last Friday but only blue was running today. Basically if the park is mad crowded and the line is to the entrance sign, chances are they will put two trains on. I think they didn't want to do two that much last season because of the brutal triple up and it could have gotten worse. Anyway they did a lot of work on Wildcat's lift and it looks like it should be done by next weekend. Not going to open for a few more weeks though.
  3. I went to a commercial/b-roll shoot for the Joker yesterday and rode 24 times. The ride is very smooth but is not spinning as much as they were advertising. They were saying 4-8 spins before but that is not even close. I rode the green side 14 times and spun twice each time and I rode the purple side 10 times and did not spin at all. It is a little disappointing because the pov they posted showed around 10 spins, they have been saying 4-8 spins, and their website says up to 6 spins or more. But overall it is a solid addition that guests will love.
  4. Seems like it didn't engage the second lift, went back through the loop and valleyed between the roll and loop. Seems like the brakes should have stopped it from going through the loop if it missed the lift. This thing must have some serious issues.
  5. Here are a few other pics from the park. Flyers are looking good with the new paint job. Wildcat needs some track still. New millennium flyers are on the track. Not a fan of how the swings are looking... chain protectors look very bad. BD's new section is looking great, should remain smooth for much longer. And here is a close up of Wildcat's new trains. Look good!
  6. Thanks for the spelling lesson. Can't wait for the next teaser from the park.
  7. I don't think there is going to be any dualing aspect to this coaster. They would have put the ledgers up already for a second track (example outward bank turn) and the extra wood is just from the old structure. I don't see a way that they could make this coaster like Colossus, definitely just a traditional coaster.
  8. Looks like the park is going to be announcing RMC Mean Streak soon!! Check their Twitter page.
  9. Here are some pictures from an off-season tour today. http://imgur.com/a/m5rXf I am really liking how the work on Boulder Dash is looking, looks like there will be some great airtime. Here are a few notes. -Wildcat's new trains are expected to arrive on 4/17. Expected to open Memorial Day weekend. -Ghost Hunt's work will start in a few weeks, expected to open around 2 weeks late. -Boulder Dash should be testing in about two weeks. It will have new restraint mechs that double the clicks (less leeway between clicks). -Wave-swinger will have new seats.
  10. Initially, I thought the supports look terrible. I've gotten used to them a little but I still think it looks ugly. I will decide once I see it in person, but I think GA's supports look WAY better.
  11. I went a few years ago for a day and we went to the park an hour before closing on Sunday (I think it was towards the end of their spring break) and the place was mobbed. X2's line was to the entrance and Tatsu was about an hour, we went on Tatsu and left. The next day the place was deserted, walk ons on everything, re-rides on X2, it was amazing. If 3/27 is a BAFF day it might be a little crowded, but probably not as bad as spring break.
  12. New Vekoma trains have been confirmed for Mind Eraser, they were testing the new red train today. You can find pics on the sfne fan site.
  13. Wildcat should be great this year, pretty much every bad part before the return trip by Ghost Hunt is being re-tracked. The only part I'm worried about is the 2nd turn by the station because I don't think that has gotten any work but it should be fine. They are also rebuilding the middle of the lift and replacing the track. As I've said, they are adding a support coming of the lift that you will go through on the return.
  14. Really embarrassing, they have to cut up brand new track for a new piece that doesn't even fit. What is S&S even doing with this? This model was one of the options for the new coaster at LC and they are really happy they went with the Skyrocket over this.
  15. Visited the park for an off-season tour today, great to see what is going on at the park and work on the coasters. Here are some pictures. http://imgur.com/a/S8lIG -Wildcat is getting new lift hill track along with a new support on the entrance side on the lift, the return track will go through it. 6 supports on the lift will be completely replaced as well. Other sections are getting new track including the worst part. It will likely open late because of the new trains which are arriving late April. The operator booth has been moved to the opposite side of the station and I am sure the station will be modified. The transfer track has been completed and there will be color changing lights around the ride. A paint job is in the plans but may not be this year. They want to make sure they get everything done they want to before painting. -BD is getting a lot of work in a couple spots, you can see the new track replacing the triple up in the pictures. It seems like it will be similar to the triple up, but it will use the straight away part as well, so it will be longer and more drawn out than before. -Ghost Hunt will get new guns and targets, the targets are capable of being changed regarding the points given and colors. The ride will also have a scoreboard! I thought that was very cool. It would be neat if you can enter a name somehow if you get a high score. It will keep track of daily, weekly, and season high scores.
  16. They now let you choose your seat on Cyclone and Superman will likely be the same without VR. It's pretty much confirmed that Mind Eraser will have VR so that is going to be catastrophic. But atleast it's not on Superman so I don't really care. Goliath was my second favorite in the park with the old train, now it's #1 on my worst coaster list, stay away unless you need the credit.
  17. Posted by LC's Twitter account, can't wait to see what goes here. They said a double up but seems like a lot of space for just that. It appears to me they took out the straight away before as well.
  18. I drove by the park a couple days ago and saw a bunch of workers on the triple up area and the hill after the double down. After looking through my pics, I did notice that it looks like there are supports missing on the straight away before the triple up, so it looks like that part may be being modified as well. The only other thing I noticed was there may have been some new handrails on the turnaround. Wildcat has no track on the first turn as well and probably a few other spots that I couldn't see. Hopefully they re-track the pothole after that turn, I think that is the worst spot on the ride.
  19. Awesome reports! Just wanted to say once again that Cyclone has been very temperamental. For the last two years it has ran its best at the beginning and end of the season, for some reason it does not run very well in the summer. I think it has something to do with the wheels because when it runs poorly it is loud, slow, and vibrates, but when it is running the best it is smooth and rips through the layout. I easily got my best rides on it on closing day this year, even better than it was running on media day imo. Ejector air on every hill including the last hills and tons of speed. It really annoys me how iffy the ride can be but I guess that is the way it is.
  20. The only bad thing is they now have four less seats per train, shouldn't be much of an issue if they ran two.. but we all know that is not going to happen. But the new trains pretty much guarantee the ride will be getting a ton of new track so that is good. Should be ride-able next season.
  21. New Millennium Flyer trains announced for Wildcat! They will be 7 cars long each. I also heard the park would think about them for BD in the future if they liked them. Obviously both coasters will be receiving lots of track work as well.
  22. Management confirmed this weekend that both wooden coasters will be getting lots of re-tracking and they did purchase two new trains but did not share which coaster they will be for. I guess we will have to wait for an announcement.
  23. I think it is likely that SFNE will do a holiday event in the future. I just got back from LC's holiday event and the park was mobbed, more busy than it was the first two weeks of the graveyard. I can't imagine them not wanting to steal some customers away from LC. Also I hope that SFNE would open a few coasters so that maybe LC would cave and open a coaster like Wildcat or Phobia. It was really cold today though and I can't see any major coasters being open at SFNE if they were to do it. But I think they will do it within the next few years.
  24. Quassy is adding two small kiddie rides, looks like they will be a good fit for the park. They are getting the ride in the video and a Zamperla Samba Balloon. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  25. I believe those comments are from a post on a page run by someone who lies and is completely clueless. He posted that both coasters were getting flyers 100% and that is what they commented about. The info that Rus posted is likely 100% true, Rus never posts stuff that is not confirmed. He likely received that info straight from the park. As for millennium flyers, if they were to get them at all, I think they will go on WC, but will be announced later.
