  1. ^Oh, so what happens when they scan my card and there is no picture? Will they just tell me I need one and let me in?
  2. I'm going on Thursday and I am hoping for light crowds so hopefully long ticket booth lines will be out of the question. I'm just gonna go straight to them before the parks open and get my AP so that I can start getting FPs during the day. Thank you so much for making that more clear!
  3. Quick question about buying annual passes. So I bought them (1 deluxe and 1 premium) at AAA for a discount today and I got the e-ticket printout. On the instructions in it says to proceed directly to the turnstile at either gate where the e-ticket will be exchanged for a regular ticket. Then it says to go to a ticket booth for processing. So I have to bypass the ticket booths and go inside just to go back outside and get it processed? Also, where do you get your photo taken?
  4. There is a crane working on X2 right now. Way may actually see it open in a couple weeks!
  5. I bet it's just closed for the same reason it's closed for a couple months every year: it's due for its annual inspection and the company hasn't gotten out to inspect it yet.
  6. I was just there Wednesday, but I'm going back tomorrow! Sure, it's not the best park, but it does have a great variety of coasters! People still love it because they know that the environment isn't going to be that great, but they are okay with that. This year will be down in attendance due to them not building a major new ride. That's just how it works. And anybody out here will pay $20 for parking. Parking for LA Live downtown is $25+. People are used to it. When I went to DL and saw it was only $16, I was in shock and actually had extra $ since I was expecting $20 parking. I really want to change the park, but it's not going to because people aren't going to stop coming. Their competition has already dominated all other areas other than roller coasters. There's no "spirit" left in this park, it's entirely a business. But, since it works for them, they won't change, so we just will have to accept it. After all, a credit is still a credit, even if it's on a parking lot or zooming around through trees on a mountain, right?
  7. What park were you at today? Full throttle didn't even have a line back to the canopy most of the day, and Green Lantern was only like 20 minutes when I saw it. Lex was like 15 when I was there. Everything else was a walk on except Tatsu which was a 15 minute wait and Superman before they opened the other side at around 4.
  8. If you bought your pass at the park, the receipt says it must be processed by the 5th in order to receive the gold benefits. It's not advertised anywhere on their website or anything.
  9. ^ Wrong. You must PURCHASE the passes either online or at the park by today the 29th. But you actually have until January 5th to PROCESS the passes at the park, as indicated ion the receipts for the passes.
  10. ^Oh, oops. I'm always confused by the term "opening day" when referring to seasonal parks since I'm always used to year-round parks. I never know if you are talking about the park's opening day or the new ride's opening day.
  11. Don't complain about a mid April opening date! Remember that MM didn't get LLDOD open until July 7th!
  12. The reason why it was so busy yesterday and why it will be so busy today Is because the park sent out free friend tickets to many season pass holders via email that could be used yesterday or today. And we know what happens anytime there is a free friend ticket....
  13. I for one agree with their business standpoint. Why spend extra $ on stuff that won't bring extra people to the park? On the other hand, they should do stuff that costs them very little or nothing that would help improve the guest experience.
  14. On one ride in Revolution at Six Flags Magic Mountain, my OTSR (not lap bar) unlocked completely for a second before locking back again. I briefly got to experience the ride without OTSRs!
  15. The website now says that all 3 water rides, and the Sky Tower are all closed until March 22nd. Wonder if something is going on in the Sky Tower?
  16. ^The 21st won't be terrible, but you also won't be alone. The 22nd is a free friend day and should be avoided at all costs. The 28th and 29th will be as bad or worse than the Summer. It will be a little better if you go during the week. But, if at all possible, go in Mid-January. Any day January 11th or later will be great! Like no lines for anything at all! You'll get many many rerides.
  17. ^^Don't even say that. I would literally chain myself to the supports like the Save Déjà Vu Facebook guy said he would when Vu was being taken out. Then I would never visit the park again. They better reopen it, or else. Anyone wanna start a donation collection so that we can donate some funds to the park so they can get the ride open? It's seriously coming down to this.
  18. Good to see Full Throttle open today, and it was running great! However, remember the temporary shade structure they put over the station? It's completely gone! The entire apparatus and everything! So now it's back to looking like it did in opening day again... But to be fair... While it was closed, they added a way to control the launch in the tunnel from the station. Now, if the launch fails out of the tunnel, the ride op at the panel in the station can reset the launch without calling maintenance. I thought this was a good idea, since I saw it get stuck in the tunnel twice today, but only for maybe 2 minutes each time. Also, operations are slowly getting better. And I will mention the Riddler crew today, they were on top of their game. Oh, and Apocalypse and Viper were both running really great today! I rode Viper 4 times today with no pain!!!
  19. Yolocoaster may have just been down yesterday due to rain. I will check it out when I'm there today in about an hour (I'm working the 5k this morning so I'm going in early). I'm also gonna stay later so we will see. There's been someone working on X2 every week.... Remember what happened back in 2007 when the gear box broke and how long it was closed then? Well.... Big coasters have big problems. I'm not defending them for this, and I actually would consider paying them to hire more people to fix it faster! It's just annoying. They need to fix YOLO now if it's still down.... That's just sad. Maybe it's gone for ever, after all according to the ride's name, You Only Live Once, Coaster!
  20. They had an employee in front of X2 for the first couple weeks it was closed and then they stopped. Full Throttle had not one, not two, but THREE employees at the entrance ALL DAY telling people it was closed last weekend. They don't have employees out for extended down times but they do for temporary.
  21. On Saturday, I talked to the YOLO ops at the entrance and they said that the ride was closed due to rain on Thursday and then on Friday it got stuck in the tunnel and had been stuck since. Apparently they were having trouble getting the LSMs in the tunnel to fire with enough power to get the train over the top hat after many tries. It kept rolling back. Also, on Saturday, I noticed that one of the 3 X2 trains is no longer on the storage track like it was when I looked in September. So maybe they are rehabbing a bit.....
  22. The reason why they do two checks is because when the lap bar is down, it is not possible to check the seatbelts due to where they are located in the seat. This is largely because the trains weren't originally designed to have seatbelts in the first place! The entire belt is hidden under the lap bar once the bar is down. This is such a stupid idea and I am so glad that they decided not to put them on Colossus. Now I wonder why Full Throttle is closed... The park's newest coaster and the park's most popular coaster... Both closed!? I know I wasn't very happy seeing that yesterday as a local. I can't even imagine how disappointed a full-paying guest would be to see this. I also saw the impact on the other lines because of this. The parking lot was maybe 1/3 full and Tatsu had a full queue extending down the hill with both stations in use.
  23. I was actually going to compliment the Goliath ops today. They were really on top of their game and the new check twice strategy works better. The way it works is: you get in your seat and out on your seatbelt. The lap bars are still unlocked. The seat checkers begin at the back of the train checking seatbelts ONLY. As each car is checked, the main op at the control panel locks the lap bars of each car individually so that the people that have already been checked can pull their lap bars down. Once the checkers check all of the seatbelts, they go from the front of the train to the back, just checking lap bars (which takes about 15 seconds to check them all). Then, the train is dispatched. They were doing great today and 9/10 times they wouldn't stack with 2 trains. The line didn't feel any slower than before. I waited from the very first switchback in the queue and was in the ride in 45 minutes. I would also like to applaud the Tatsu crew today. Not only were they using both stations, but they were also running to check all of the seats and were almost making it under the 1:30 timer in the station. And, while the station was empty between trains (they were only running 2) they went down the rows trying to fill them to maximum capacity (putting groups of 2 together, etc.). I thought this was great. Too bad that YOLO was down. No one was working on it all day, one train was in the station and the other in the tunnel. Overall good day!
  24. ^^Its the last weekend of Fright Fest so they are open Thursday-Sunday. Maze passes are $10 for SPs that day rather than the usual $13. It will be dead so you should try to get over there that day.
  25. ^X2 has the new ones too. You can move locations now and you will NEVER have to use them if you don't want to. You can always leave your loose articles on the station floor or in bins at attractions. GLFF doesn't even have lockers, nor anything else newer than Apocalypse (and they got rid of theirs almost a year ago.)
