  1. Apocalypse at Six Flags Magic Mountain has a pretty long queue as well, just because you can't avoid all the switchbacks even if there isn't a line.
  2. Went to the park today and it was a nice dead day! Here was the ride list: Superman x2 (no wait, my 2 friends and I were the only ones on the entire car) Tatsu (walk-on, could've gone again since all rows were empty when we came back, 2 trains) Apocalypse (no wait) 1 train Riddler (no wait) 2 trains running, 1 cycling empty Green Lantern (no wait, both sides running, 1 flip) Batman (2 trains, 1 cycling empty, no wait) Lex Luthor (no wait, my friends and I were the only ones on the ride) Goliath (no wait, 1 train running and wow is that a LONG circuit to only have one train running. Still sending half empty trains nonetheless) Revolution (no wait, 1 train) Viper (no wait, 2 trains) Would've gotten on X2, but it had a 90 minute wait due to 1 train operation. Seemed like the entire park was there at that one ride. But the good news is, they are changing trains! Train 1 (which has been running for the last 16 months) has been taken off the track with headrests and harnesses removed. They were working on train 2 (which hasn't run for like a year) and all the headrests and harnesses were installed except the front row on both sides. Train 3 was the only one running. Overall a great day at the park and got a lot of rides in before 1:45 when I left.
  3. Just got a survey from Six Flags Magic Mountain asking me about new rides for 2014. You can take it here: Feedback.sixflags.com/newrides16 Interesting characters they want to use.
  4. We don't even know of the trains are onsite yet or When they are coming. LSMs still need to be installed and many other components still need to be tested before actual testing can begin. The track was completed just TWO DAYS ago!
  5. Got back from a busy day at the park. But the big news is that Team Tatsu is back! This morning the ride ops at Tatsu were hauling it again. They called themselves the "Dream Team", and that was very accurate. They were constantly getting ONE MINUTE DISPATCHES! The 90 second clock would have at least 30 seconds left on it every dispatch I was there (like 5 or 6). It was quite amazing! And that meant... No stacking!! It was awesome. Then later in the day they opened the second station and they were back to 2 minute dispatches, since there was only one person checking seats on each side of the train instead of two. But the line was still moving really quickly! The entire lower queue was full and I got through the entire lower part in 30 minutes. Good day at the park, but I feel bad for the people who waited in the 2-hour+ lines for Apocalypse and Scream due to 1-train operation.
  6. What's with all this ert lately and how do you guys hear about it? Can't find anything on the park website... Thanks. It is for ALL Season Pass Holders (not just Gold). SFMM sends their bi-weekly newsletter out and in the top right corner, it says "Season Passholder Bonus" and what ride the ERT is on. To subscribe to the newsletter, go to soxflags.com/magicmountain and click around the site until you see a banner (almost looks like an ad) on one of the sides of a page that says something about "Stay In the Loop" and click it. Them you can sign up.
  7. Headed down to the park tomorrow for the Lex Luthor ERT. Then gonna hang out at the park for a few hours. The loop looks great from the freeway as well!
  8. I'm gonna be there Monday April 22nd. I can't wait for that day. It's gonna be so dead.
  9. It was a nice day at the park and the loop is more than halfway finished! And to answer the long question, about half the drop after going over the top hat has been constructed, and there are brakes all the way up that bottom half. Sorry folks, but it looks like there may not be much airtime. Another thing: DOLW WHIPS ARE BACK!! But now they are in Food, Etc. where Ben and Jerry's was before. Another thing I just saw today for the first time and an unlimited refills wristband now offered if you had bought your souvenir bottle on a pervious date. It costs $3.99 and will get you unlimited refills all day. Great deal if you like soft drinks and you already bought your souvenir bottle. Now something that I got a huge crack out of. At Lex Luthor at the end of the ride, a ride op was recommending rides for people to go to. And he said "Be sure to check out Colossus and Scream! The parking lot coasters!!!" I can't believe they are trying to advertise them that way! But anyways it was a good light day at the park! The loop.
  10. About to head to the park. Hopefully it will be a good day.
  11. Looks great! I always check Instagram for latest progress. Always helpful. I'm heading down to the park tomorrow afternoon, so look out for an update.
  12. Hopefully I'll be there Sunday and I will get some pics.
  13. GL is actually a favorite to the GP. All my friends say it's the scariest and their most favorite ride, even over X2. I personally like it because of the intensity and being thrown around everywhere. For me the pain is part of the experience!
  14. More track and better ride. I don't really care about the theming. Even Scream! Doesn't bother me.
  15. ^Doesn't really matter. Just get there before opening and run when you get in to X2 or Tatsu (choose one, crowds will catch up if you do both). And then ride all the coasters clockwise around the park then hit either X2 or Tatsu (the one that you missed earlier) at the end of the day and just wait it out. It will pay off. Believe me.
  16. I rode GL today as well. It was smooth! Even the guy next to me said "The G's are strong but the ride is smooth as glass!" I seriously don't know why people say it is so rough. I would just call it "intense".
  17. The park was crowded today, but I somehow lucked out and rode Goliath twice, X2, Roaring Rapids, Apocalypse, Riddler, GL, Batman, Gold Rusher, Lex Luthor, Colossus, and Superman by 2 PM. Longest wait being 15 minutes for Superman and that was only because it was broken. EVERY ride was running two trains except Scream (which was running one with two sitting on the transfer). Main lot was full, but I timed it out so that I walked on almost everything! I don't know how I did it! Midways were insane though.. Anyways, here's the part everyone is looking forward to! The Full Throttle Update! All of the photos were taken from the Superman Plaza about an hour ago (sorry no Sky Tower due to time!). It's so tall! *Be sure to respond with any questions you may have and message me if you would like higher resolution versions of the photos! Thanks.* 160' of awesomeness. Basically the same photo. Zoom on the top hat. This looks sick. This one didn't focus well... But lower on the loop. Overview of the area from where the track comes over the plaza (the other photos were taken further to the left of this one near Superman's exit) And last... The photo we have all seen! It's just so photogenic.
  18. Heading down to the park in about an hour to go for some ERT on Goliath and get a quick update! (And hopefully get on some other rides.....) Anyone else going to be there today?
  19. Loop construction as of 4 hours ago... Found this online so sorry for bad resolution, but you get the point! Looks great! Can't wait to see it for myself tomorrow! Looptophat
  20. Looks awesome! I'm heading to the park on Saturday now for the ERT on Goliath and will snap some pics from then. I know it's gonna be busy. I wonder if its gonna be worse than during the week? I'm planning on getting there before 10, being let in at 10, riding Goliath once or twice depending on time, then booking it to X2 before 10:30 to get in line for that. Then the normal Tatsu, Superman, then Apocalypse plan... For those of you who have been at the park this week: has Scream been running two trains this week? What about Apocalypse? Loop looks awesome! Can't wait! Song is eh.
  21. Wow! This is page 3000 of this thread! And I've heard that the park is absolutely swamped today. 2 hour+ waits for X2, Tatsu, and others. Roaring Rapids queue is almost full. I wouldn't want to be there right now. I gonna try to get down there Wednesday or Thursday late afternoon-night. Some many facts were wrong in the Tim Burkhart article. Tatsu isn't the longest steel coaster at the park for one.
  22. Someone posted this photo today of the Superman line. I HOPE they were running both sides, because that's insane. That's how long it was opening day... I'm heading out there tomorrow (haha I'm 5 minutes away, not exactly heading out) for the Riddler ERT. Once nice is you are in the park early, so you can ride Riddler a few times and then go to the ride of your choice to be the first one on just before 10:30.
  23. Superman was open today! Which means the plaza was open too! Which means that I got some pics (terrible quality because I took them with my cell phone though)! The track in the plaza is higher up than it looks and the part where it looked like toy could touch is just out of reach. I'm 5'9" and my arms were probably about 1 foot from the track itself standing on my tip toes and trying to reach. On a side note, Riddler's Revenge was back to 2 trains today! Anywyays, here's the pictures! This is how far the track extends from the Superman Plaza toward Gold Rusher. This was taken right at the fence next to the track. Side shot of the track over the Superman Plaza. Taken from the same location as the first photo. The super sick looking dive loop thingy! It looks so spectacular from almost every angle! Taken from the other side of the plaza.
  24. As of today the new buses are in operation and it is a much smoother ride to the park! Yay!
