Just for clarification: Namtab and Sussoloc are opening Mar. 22nd with Sky Tower and the water rides and the sports bar. The kiddie coaster is set to open sometime in June. So a long time away. They ALWAYS use the old maps to get rid of them before they put out the new ones. Around March the start phasing out the old ones and putting out the new ones so you'll usually have to look for the new ones for the first couple of weeks they are out before the old ones run out. Oh yeah, and the old Steam Train is for sale! Just look it up!

You mean years. The other side of Colossus is literally abandoned nowadays. Except for the other side's queue. Yesterday the queues on both sides were being used for the one side. I literally waited 45-50 minutes for Colossus and the line started at the entrance! Better than the posted 90 minutes though. Yeah, the posted wait was 2 hours for X2! But it only took an hour to get to where it passes under the lift hill! They were flying! But, they also made you put ALL loose articles, including just souvenir bottles, in a locker Before each time you rode. Locker policy again, anyone? And yeah, the Tatsu line was actually moving because they were using the countdown clocks in the stations and were announcing how much time was left over the intercom, and they were almost making it every time!

It was the first free friend day of the year, and it was PACKED! Probably the busiest day so far this year. Every line was at least an hour and the line for parking stretched all the way to the 5. The parking lot was full and half the dirt lot was full as well. In the end, park hours were extended to 7PM! Due to half the turnstiles being reomoved, Six Flags Plaza opened at about 9:55 this morning. All the shops in the area were open, but there were two blockades: one near Revolution in Bája Ridge, and one near Full Throttle pictured here. Half of the turnstiles have been removed in order to install biometric finger scanners for all of the passholders. This will eliminate the need for photos and hopefully shorten processing lines in the future. This was X2's line all day! Only took 80 minutes though due to an OUTSTANDING crew! Road Runner Express had a huge line!!! I guess the park is reaching out to families! Both of the rides in Whistlestop park had full queues too! There were long lines all over the park! This was LLDOD. 90 minutes. Even the bumper cars had a full queue. Another pic of the new entrance... The new Bugs Bunny World entrance is almost complete, and it is free to walk on now. Another pic of the barricade... They didn't forget about the Gold Passholders though! Both blockades had separate lines for them, and boy were they long! But the opened around 10:15. The location of the new coaster is still behind a fence and there's still a lot of dirt! After riding Full Throttle I got to Tatsu around 10:35 and this was the line already! (And X2 opened on time!) Another Colossus pic (which had a long wait... BOTH station queues were in use with only one track running with a line all the way to the entrance!) One of the Colossus backwards trains was moved to the other transfer! Getting ready for the bug day (Mar. 22nd) This is the longest queue for Ninja I have ever seen! And it continued all the way over here!!!!!!!! Tatsu didn't quite have a full queue at 5PM, but it was close, and both stations were running. Revolution was still across the bridge as well around 5PM! Busy busy! Thanks for reading this report! I hope you enjoyed it, and be sure to ask questions if you have any! Some painting has begun at the Sports Bar as well. Another view of the crowded midway and the Full throttle Sports Bar and Grill! The walkways were busy today! A view inside the construction site. Another view. Another angle, taken later in the day. There was a cheer and dance competition today in the Golden Bear.

NEWS: half of Six Flags Magic Mountain's turnstiles have been removed as of this morning. The park opened 30 minutes early today to accommodate the reduced number of turnstiles, followed by a rope drop at 10:30. They are switching to biometric scanners for their tour styles, along with a remodel of the entrance! The new biometric scanners will be a hand print scan. This is all the information I have about this. Also, Batman is now closed while it is preparing to go backwards!

Coolest station you've seen

I guess it is just because I have a higher standard and more critical eye, but to me it only looked good by SFMM standards. The higher level of detail (like clean trash cans, signs that have visible dust, bathrooms that were 'clean', but still obviously not taken care of as much as they should be, etc.) is still not there. Yes they are. I think it's been a couple months since you've been to the park. A lot has changed since then. The cans ARE clean! They are replacing signs! Bathrooms are MUCH better than they were. They're not Disney, but they don't need to be. Your day at the park greatly depends on your attitude upon entry. It's a completely mental thing. It's a great park that has gotten better these past few months. If you're always a downer about it then most likely your day won't be great because you'll be spending the entire day finding the little bad things about the park that most people wouldn't see rather than enjoying your day and having fun! That's what you supposed to do at a park, right?

^ Yes, this should cause less stress on YOLO's and Tatsu's lines. Since it has been closed, Tatsu fills up early and never empties all day! Full throttle gets full early but by afternoon it lightens and then fills up again in the evening. Goliath has also had longer lines than usual due to the closure. Haven't seen a station wait for that in a long time.

^^If there's nothing going on that weekend then it will be MUCH less than that on that day. Longest waits will be Full Throttle and Tatsu (and X2 if open) probably both maxing out at 30 minute waits in the morning with everything having a 10 minute wait or less by mid day if it is running two trains. No way will you be seeing hour waits in the beginning of February. In Jan. and Feb., it usually doesn't matter if it is Saturday or Sunday. It is all dead. You'll be just fine.

It's not even maintenance most of the time. It's just only wanting to get out one train on most days. But they probably got behind from when only one trains as running for 8 months straight... Since 4 of those months the other one was just sitting on the storage track for the first 4 of those 8 before they finally took it off for maintenance. But they have been catching up ever since X2 has been closed... Like Viper, Ninja, Scream, Green Lantern, and Tatsu have all had at least 1 train refurbed since X2 closed in August.

Photo Update from today: wow, a lot has changed in a week! A few parts are still there... A few parts are still there... A few parts are still there... A few parts are still there... A few parts are still there... A few parts are still there... A few parts are still there... A few parts are still there... A few parts are still there... A few parts are still there... A few parts are still there... A few parts are still there... This is a lot earlier start than I was expecting! Ninja is back to 2 trains. Also with Batman, they are down to 1 and the other train is not on the transfer. Maybe we are gonna see NAMTAB earlier than anticipated! Also, the alarms at X2's transfer track were going off and only 2 trains were on the storage track! Maybe it will be back open soon! That's it for today! (photos from californiacoasterkings.com) Swashbuckler has also been dismantled! Refurb maybe? Mostly just chains and seats still gone. Scrambler is also dismantled and is sitting over by Apocalypse right now. Hopefully a repaint? Marked trees by Buccaneer.... Wonder what this is about? Scream is back down to 1 train operation, as is Batman... More on that later though. Some activity in Thrill Shot's old location. ...to this spot! It's right next to Road Runner Express near the picnic area. Tweety's Escape has been dismantled and is in the process of being moved... The track, train, and control panel for Foghorn Leghorn's Train has been removed. Replacing the train and Tweety's Escape in this area is where the new coaster will be. Sky Tower closed until March 22nd...gonna be awhile.

I was just at DL today and it was dead. RSR was no longer than 45 minutes all day. But many rides were cutting capacity because it was such a light day. Soarin wasn't using a couple rows in both theaters. Also, Matterhorn was running at half capacity all day with only the Fantasyland side open. The line was wrapped over half way around the mountain and it was an hour wait! Unlike Disney to do. Since when does Matterhorn have a longer wait than RSR? And it wasn't just today. They've been doing this all week. So don't just blame Six Flags Magic Mountain for not using the max number of trains, Disney does it too...
