It actually doesn't impact crowds as much as you'd think. But it's gonna be a busy day anyway so it doesn't matter. Just get there at opening and stay ahead of the crowds and you'll be fine. Save YOLO til the afternoon as its line will never exceed an hour (but it will stay there all day) while the others will start short in the morning and then exceed an hour by the afternoon.

Bad day at the park today... High winds caused X2 and Lex Luthor to be closed. Chain problems caused Goliath to be closed... And Scream and Colossus are closed for obvious reasons. One train operations on Ninja, Apocalypse, and Riddler. Pretty much every ride had a long line (especially Full Throttle and Tatsu while it was open, those two got really jammed all day), and two parking lots weren't even full! Finally, around 6:30, a Tatsu train got stuck on the lift near the bottom and the walkway between Ninja and Tatsu was shut down. It looked pretty serious and maintenance had to rotate the seats to that everyone could be evacuated from there. Rumor was floating around from the employees and bystanders who had witnessed the train get stuck that the lift chain broke. Hopefully this isn't another ride down for the count!

^Some of the safety systems in the station have already been installed, and I have seen them working all over the coaster installing even other small pieces in the last few weeks. The lift motor is already in place but I'd imagine that there is quite a bit of electrical to still be done. Plus, they have to put the trains on the track. I have heard that as of this weekend the Blue train has come in. So now the only one that hasn't arrived yet is the Green Train. Hopefully that one arrives in the next week or so and testing can commence soon thereafter!

And just for those of you who are complaining about the length, just remember that this is the LONGEST COASTER IN THE PARK! 490' longer than Goliath. And more than twice as long as the last new coaster they added: Full (Half) Throttle! If I were to guess an opening date, I'd say if everything goes on or ahead of schedule, May 23rd. If not, then probably May 30th.

Well on that note, good news from the park!! There are literally only like 3 more track pieces that need to be installed, and that is for the blue zero-g inversion. The green track has been 100% completed and the only part remaining is the inverted blue track. The double-up and outward bank are complete and look awesome! Wouldn't be surprised if the ride has its track complete by the end of the weekend.

Visiting SFDK either tomorrow, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Not sure how the weather is gonna be but the preferred day would be Tuesday however we don't want to miss any attractions. We are open to go any day. Any day that would be better than the others? Also, I'm an SFMM regular and am visiting for the first time. Any advice for doing the park? Anything closed? Anything I should expect with the park? Thanks for all the help guys.

Here are some pics of the Goliath Overlay from yesterday. Actually looks like some decent theming and it's supposed to be here for 6 months the ride ops were saying. I should also mention that they came out with a green souvenir bottle for just $19.99 that gets you free refills all year at any Six Flags theme park. It's a totally great deal. I bought one and already had a red one! The huge dragon thing out front. And it continues The first sign that it's a video game Just inside the queue. Interesting theming Obviously not done by six flags Telling you about the "enemy" you will be fighting while on the ride. Oh and advertising while you ride!!! This is also only on the wrapped train. See, I told you you were fighting an "enemy" while on the ride. You guys knew it was coming! The infamous Six Flags Train Wrap!!! Good thing it's just on one of the trains Interesting piece of theming. Not sure what it's about.

Right. It's less of an eyesore now, especially for photo ops. But make no mistake, it's still the same Scream. They could dress this ride up like a Christmas tree. Still the same mediocre ride. Don't be so sure. All three trains are in the process of a complete overhaul. They were being driven on trucks away from the ride today. It could be a whole different ride when it opens back up.
