  1. Anybody else think those concept drawings for the hotel look way too fancy to be anywhere near a Six Flags park?
  2. I thought it was pretty cool, probably because I'm younger. I do worry that this could become an encouraged trend at Six Flags parks though... YOLO! I promise that was sarcasm I agree, that selfie was pretty cool. I mean, at most Six Flags parks, the crowds would've probably flipped off the camera. (BTW, that's not sarcasm, I honestly could see that happening) But at Holiday World, almost everybody smiled and joined in, which it pretty neat.
  3. I'd say wing coaster, but those didn't debut in the US until 2012.
  4. On my list it is ranked #6 out of 78 on my overall list and #4 out of 58 on my steel list.
  5. I have to agree with you on the salsa groups. I think there has been one that has made it to at least the semifinals every year. I have never seen a group like the Jump Rope team before. Normally I disagree with Mel B, but she was the only judge who voted for the right team. I do kind of like the singers. For example, opera singers and child singers have nowhere else to go. I liked Julia Goodwin a lot, but I'm sure she'll make it one day anyway. And I don't even like opera singers, it's just that they can't do opera on a show like American Idol.
  6. No. Honestly, I think the cutoff price for my family is around $90. I think Platinum Pass is way too pricey at $110, especially when Universal Studios pass is $30 cheaper at $80 (which still wasn't that great of a deal IMO). SeaWorlds was a bargain at $30 and really made our day a million times more enjoyable. However, it really depends on how much people can afford to spend.
  7. Also, if Flash Passes didn't exist, the people who would've gotten them would have to wait in line along with everybody else, making the wait just as long for you.
  8. I think the thing is, games like Minecraft and Plants vs Zombies are not going to be popular forever. I mean, look at Angry Birds. Now think about Justice League, that has been popular for a long time and even though some kids really don't care about super heroes, many do. Every kid knows who Batman is, but not every kid knows what a Creeper is.
  9. With all the discussion about restoring revolution, I guess it's time to bring out this gem again:
  10. Yeah, that Pistachio commercial got pretty annoying. However, that M&M commercial is amazing. I'm not gonna lie.
  11. I'm 100% positive they could. You know why? Because they've already done it before
  12. I wonder what the theme could be here. I kind of thought the alien stars thing were stupid so I'm glad they are theming it differently.
  13. That is actually what I'm thinking it'll be.
  14. Thought I'd start a thread so AGT fans on TPR could discuss the performances and results. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Here's my review of the performances and my thoughts on the results: Wow. America really voted wrong. And then the judges voted wrong. Here's how I would have ranked the contestants for their performances this week. 1. Flight Crew Jump Rope- I am so shocked these guys didn't go through. I wasn't that impressed by their past few auditions, but this performance was truly a spectacle. I loved the lights, the sets, and most of all, the stunts these guys did with the jump ropes. Definitely the most original act this season, but it doesn't matter anymore, I guess. Because like I said, the judges make a horrible choice sending the salsa group into the next round instead of these guys. 2. Valo & Bobby- Once again, I am so shocked these two didn't go through. This stunt was INSANE and captivating. I was on the edge of my seat the entire act. Gosh, why America, why. 3. Dan Naturman- I wasn't as impressed with him this time, but his jokes were still pretty funny. However, this guy really reminds me of Taylor Williamson from last year, and his quirky personality really helps him stand out. I am really glad he moved on, because he is the only decent comedian left in the competition. 4. Emily West- Emily West has the best voice of any singer this season. This performance wasn't my favorite of hers but she really is a star. I see her going all the way to the finals. And she gets props for singing one of the best songs of 2014. 5. Jasmine Flowers- I wanted them to go through, but I'm not really surprised they didn't, because like Mel B, said they are an acquired taste. This performance really was great, though, far superior to their past performances. 6. Baila Conmigo- Are they talented? Yes. Are they entertaining? Yes. Was this performance near perfection? Yes. But are they anything America hasn't seen before? No. I mean, every year their has been a salsa-type dance group that makes it to the semifinals, if not the finals. 7. Julia Goodwin- I really like this girl. She has an exceptional voice, she has charm, and she has the Hollywood/Broadway look. She'll make it one day, but I'm not sure AGT was the show for her. 8. David & Leeman- Their audition was hilarious. This trick tonight though, really just seemed to drag on forever. And their showmanship just wasn't their, even though they are extremely likeable dudes. Hopefully they'll step it up next time. 9. Miguel Dakota- This sounded AMAZING. But you wanna know why I didn't really care for it? Because more than half of the time I couldn't tell if it was really the guy singing. His backup singers really overpowered him, IMO. Best act of the night? Nope, not at all. I mean, if he wins, how much do his backup singers and band get? 10. Sean & Luke- They were decent. But they seemed to be out of sync during a few parts of the act, and they really are the most forgettable act. Well, except for... 11. The Willis Clan- I liked their audition, but this was really boring and forgettable. I do think they belong in Branson, though. They could make a fortune. 12. JD Anderson- Ugh. This guy is just so full of himself and this act was all over the place. What he can do is impressive, don't get me wrong. But it just gets so repetitive: "Hey watch me break a few things over my head and smash through some stuff." So what did you guys think of the acts this week?
  15. Where the heck did you hear that? I don't think that's true. Edit: Yeah, I'm 100% sure that never happened.
  16. Let's all pray for a Dark Knight Coaster clone.
  17. I'm hoping it's a GCI. I don't think it would be fair to give a park two RMCs when a park that could really use one (cough...SFSTL...cough) doesn't have any. But then again, life isn't fair and I have no clue if SFFT has far greater attendance than SFSTL. Then again, if it's an RMC, all the more reason to head down to Texas (as if NTAG and iRat weren't already).
  18. That would make sense since it is DC Comics Plaza, not Property of Warner Bros Plaza. And shouldn't "Log Flume" be part of the World's Fair? Just something I noticed. Um... Justice League is part of DC Comics which Six Flags have the rights to...
  19. Huh!? That ride looks insane I have to agree those five loops all lined up look super intimidating.
  20. I honestly think if corporate gave more freedom to each park the chain might improve. For example, I've heard from employees who post in the SFSTL thread that Dave (the park president) has some great ideas that could definitely improve the overall experience (such as shortening long queues, moving the Moon Cars and giving them a longer track, and bringing a few family flats into the park). However from what I hear, corporate makes most of the financial decisions and that is why some of these small improvements never become a reality.
  21. Can you confirm if it will be a clone of the Justice League ride at the Warner Bros park in Australia? In U.S. dollars, that ride cost $8.5 million, not adjusted for inflation, so maybe corporate really isn't neglecting us as much as some people like to think. Don't expect that much. I wonder how much the ride would be with no pre-show and a downsized facade/queue theming. At the same time, I LOVED LOVED Scooby, but I am really excited for this. I also found out today that a DC licensed Batman costume costs $10,000. It might be possible that a lot of that money went to R&D, the design of the ride vehicles, and the production of the ride animation, since it's a first of its kind ride for Sally.
  22. At Six Flags St. Louis it's fairly obvious we are getting a Justice League dark ride in ol' Scooby's spot. Then, again the rumors could be totally wrong.
  23. Oh wow, did not realize they want $33.5m for it. That's ridiculous for an aging, compact traveling coaster, even if it's iconic. I mean, I bet Gerstlauer or Zierer could create an exact clone for far cheaper (probably in the $5 million range).
