Do the actors touch you in all of the mazes? Or just Psychomanteum? This place sounds similar to Creepyworld here in St. Louis. They have 8 houses in a row and an upcharge paintball hayride halfway through. I do like the idea of having a lot of smaller haunted houses in a row instead of one gigantic one. Scare Kingdom looks pretty cool.

I am not ashamed to admit that I already own it. -
^Is Big Hero 6 more of an Adventureland type of movie or a Tomorrowland type of movie? I really want to see it, but most of the people I know aren't interested at all in seeing it, which surprises me. Maybe all these rave reviews will convince them.

That elevated spiral looks like it could be a highlight of the ride. Can't wait to ride this baby next year! -

Today's Burning Question!
Woodie Warrior replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm pretty sure the question includes all of the parks at WDW. There isn't a Walt Disney World Park, I'm guessing you mean the Magic Kingdom. I don't know if that changes your opinion at all. I have to go with WDW myself. Cedar Point had three coasters that I really liked (Millennium Force, Maverick, and yes, GateKeeper). Other than that, the whole place has an extremely corporate feel. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my visit to CP and will most likely going back again next year. But it isn't even my favorite amusement park, let alone overall park. WDW is one of my favorite places on Earth. I love love love love the place. Enough said. Although over the two I'd pick Silver Dollar City. The best of both worlds in my opinion. -

I've been on all the inverting wooden coasters operating as of today (never got to ride SOB though, not I like really care). And I've been on all the Vekoma boomerangs in Missouri! -
Honestly, the entire front entrance needs to be redone: -The ticket booths need to be relocated. On busy days that plaza fills up quickly and it is horrible. -There needs to be a new guest relations building. With 4-6 workers at all times, not 1 or 2. -Metal detectors can go bye bye. You can even move the ticket booths all the way up here. -Bag check needs to have a more permanent feel. Move it a little bit so the area in between it and the fountain isn't a bottleneck even more.

Is there any reason why a new owner couldn't buy it? -
Creepyworld is located in Fenton, Missouri, not too far from downtown. It is billed as the world's largest scream park, meaning that the entire place is essentially 8 haunted attractions in one (they market it as 12 though). You go through a maze, wait a maximum of five minutes, then you go into the next, and so on and so on. It is part of Scarefest, which also owns The Darkness and The Abyss at Lemp Brewery. Having only been to the haunts at Six Flags St. Louis before, I had no idea what to expect. Creepyworld did meet my expectations, and I'm not sure it passed them, but the experience was awesome nonetheless. Most of the mazes are far more detailed than anything at SFSTL and the scare actors really get into their characters. There were really only a few things at Creepyworld that I wasn't that big of a fan of: 1. Many of the same types of gags and scares are used over and over again. Almost every attraction had at least three guys with chainsaws. Also, half of the scare actors were inside things that were big boxes. As you approach them they will pop out and scream in your face, and then sometimes they'll turn around and go out the back side and scare you again. It was effective the first couple of times, but after a while you know it is coming. 2. A lot of the attractions blend together. Some people would probably consider this a good thing, but I would've actually preferred that each of the mazes were distinct in their own way. The Tool Shed, The Evil Dread, and Cornbuckle were all similar as they all were just full of dead bodies, serial killer type characters, and lots and lots of gore. Silo-X and SuperMax both were just a lot of chain-link fence switchbacks and loud sirens with a few scare actors in there. I'll try and review the individual mazes in the order that you go through as best as I can but forgive me if I mix up any small details. Be warned, there may be a few spoilers, but the season is winding down to a close anyways: SuperMax: Riot at Rikers Scare factor- 4/5 Details/theming- 3/5 Intensity- 2/5 Scare actors- 3/5 OVERALL- 12/20 SuperMax, a new maze in 2014, serves as essentially one long queue line for the rest of Creepyworld. Yes, there is a normal queue line before the maze, but all this one really is is a long trip through seemingly endless walls and chain link fences, with the occasional loud bang. However, towards the end you do encounter some convicts, a few with chainsaws, and eventually you end up in a small shack full of fog where you see a few more prisoners and some people in electric chairs, and then you exit into the line for the next attraction, which is when Creepyworld really starts to get good. St. Lucifer's Hospital Scare factor- 5/5 Details/theming- 5/5 Intensity- 4/5 Scare actors- 5/5 OVERALL- 19/20 St. Lucifer's Hospital is another new attraction this year and is probably the most stand-out house at Creepyworld. The hallways are very cramped and tight, the entire thing is extremely detailed, and somehow they were able to make it so that whenever you hear a loud bump, all the floor vibrates, which was far more effective than it sounds. There were a decent amount of scares in here. Another thing they use inside is video screens on the walls, which isn't all that scary, but it is unique and some of the videos were fun to watch. There is also an outdoor section themed to a greenhouse that is supposedly left over from the maze that used to be here. Overall, St. Lucifer's was one of my favorites of the night. Cornbuckle Hogs and Corn Maze Scare factor- 4/5 Details/theming- 4/5 Intensity- 3/5 Scare actors- 4/5 OVERALL- 15/20 Cornbuckle was an interesting maze. The corn maze section is much less "claustrophobic" as SFSTL's one and they didn't have any scare actors in that portion. Once you exit the corn maze-section, you enter a farm where giant pigs have taken over and are slaughtering humans. Some of them do a very good job of hiding or pretending to be fake, which really scared a lot of the people ahead of us. There aren't as many small details, but they did build a whole little creek/pond area which was fun and some of the scenes inside are extremely gory. The Tool Shed Scare factor- 4/5 Details/theming- 4/5 Intensity- 3/5 Scare actors- 4/5 OVERALL- 15/20 The Tool Shed was pretty good as well. It has a nice industrial/warehouse feel to it and is full of creepy murder victims that do a good job of popping up out of nowhere. Some of the rooms had lots of small details, and the maze overall was pretty well done. However, out of the eight houses it is probably the one that stood-out the least to me (that's not saying it was the worst, though). The Dark Zone Scare factor- 2/5 Details/theming- 1/5 Intensity- 2/5 Scare actors- 1/5 OVERALL- 6/20 Creepyworld's version of a pitch-black maze is totally different than SFSTL's Voided Vision. The Dark Zone is much more of a maze, and you do actually have to find your way out, which definitely confused some groups, but it didn't take long for us to find our way out. The maze really wasn't that much darker than any of the other mazes, with dangling severed heads and laser beams shooting out all over the place. We only encountered one real scare actor, and all she did was point a flashlight at us. Silo-X Scare factor- 4/5 Details/theming- 4/5 Intensity- 3/5 Scare actors- 3/5 OVERALL- 14/20 Before Creepyworld, there was Silo-X. It was a chain of haunted attractions around the country, and when they started to sell off their properties, the St. Louis location was bought by the owners of The Darkness and they built Creepyworld around it. It wasn't a bad maze, but like The Tool Shed, it just didn't stand out to me. It was very spread out and there were lots of breaks between scare actors. Carnivorous in 3D Scare factor- 4/5 Details/theming- 3/5 Intensity- 1/5 Scare actors- 5/5 OVERALL- 13/20 I kind of ruined this one for myself. I stupidly wore my glasses underneath the 3D glasses that were provided for us, and it completely ruined all of the effects. Lesson learned. Other than that, Carnivorous in 3D was exceptionally short, but the actors were entertaining, which made up for the length (it took 1-2 minutes to go through). The Evil Dread Scare factor- 4/5 Details/theming- 4/5 Intensity- 5/5 Scare actors- 5/5 OVERALL- 18/20 The Evil Dread is probably the longest maze at Creepyworld, and has gigantic animatronics and sets. While St. Lucifer's is the attraction with the most small details, The Evil Dread is the one that had the most big sets and details. The scare actors in this one did a really good job and interacted with the sets more than the actors in any other house. Overall, even if you don't get easily scared, Creepyworld has amazingly detailed attractions that will really pull you into the setting and make you feel like you are really there. I highly recommend this for any haunt fans in the St. Louis area. They add/replace/modify attractions every year, so each year is a different experience. I have a few pictures of the entrances to the attractions that I may post later, but I didn't get any photos inside any of the houses, as they aren't really allowed.

Announcing "Skyline Attractions"
Woodie Warrior replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm interested to see what other rides will be next in the GamesURide series. The idea of interactive experiences seems to be a new trend in amusement parks, so I see lots of awesome possibilities for Skyline in the future. -
Going to parks alone?
Woodie Warrior replied to alilstronger's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've never been to a park alone. I always go with at least one other person. I hate going with huge groups though. 4 other people at the most. I don't see how being at a park by myself would be any fun at all. -
Honestly I think 2014 was one of the best seasons SFSTL has had in a long time. The employees this year were extremely kind and enthusiastic, the food options have gotten better and better with the addition of JB's, and the park looked a lot nicer. I'm really looking forward to next year, Justice League should be an awesome addition.

The Official TPR Video Thread!
Woodie Warrior replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There is an 8 minute long version of the video where you see her getting out of the car crying her eyes out and you can clearly see she is a little kid. -
I guess I have a few suggestions for the park: -Would love even more Coke Freestyle Machines. The park already has 6 right (2 in the sports bar, 2 inside Mooseburger, and 3 outside Mooseburger) and they are awesome. The more the merrier! -Fix up Batman's queue. Those fake rocks and styrofoam fire hydrant are by far the biggest issue I have in pretty much the entire park. They look so bad, I don't know why somebody couldn't go out and pick them up. It would take like two minutes at the most. Or if not, put back the police car which made them look more natural. -Get rid of Voided Vision. I've been through it three times (this year and last), and I've only been started one time. And I get startled easily in haunted houses. The maze also is not even pitch black (you can see the ceiling above you), which is supposed to be the point of the maze. The pitch black concept does not work at all, and you can tell by looking at the line. The stand-by line looked to be less than 5 minutes long my last visit, while Slaughter House's stretched all the way to the mine train, and that one pumps through guests extremely quickly. -I'd love a demented fairy tale type maze. I don't know why, it just seems like it would be a fun one. Maybe a walk through maze out in the woods? I'd really like a long maze, because as good as Blind Fury and Insanity Alley are, the park needs a nice long maze, around 15-20 minutes maybe. -Clean up the gum and random hair bands in the Screamin' Eagle queue. That's just flat out disgusting. -Regarding the front entrance: That was a mess during Fright Fest. Is there a possibly way to expand the plaza or add some more turnstiles/finger scanners?
