  1. Why, exactly? HW is still in a different league than KK. An RMC will be an awesome addition to KK, but HW has nothing to worry about. People aren't going to ditch their plans to go to HW to go to KK, if anything they'll just make plans to stop by KK as well.
  2. Speaking of HHN: I don't know if it's big enough of a brand to get its own maze, but what about Five Nights at Freddy's (the video game)? UO would be the only group I think could actually do a good job with it. They have the budget to build animatronics and other needed props for it. Even if the game may not be the best horror game out there, it sure does have a huge Internet following.
  3. La Ronde's not happening. The only "evidence" is a brand new user claiming to have seen things but never actually took a picture of them. In the SF chain, either SFDK or SFA will get Roar Iron-horsed, but not both. Outside the chain, Dollywood will get their launched wooden coaster and KK will get Twisted Twins Iron-horsed. These are just rumors at this point, but those are the biggest ones going around that make the most sense.
  4. So we're supposed to trust a guy whose only two posts on this forum have been about things he saw but never thought to get a picture of? Yeah, I'm not buying it.
  5. I hated Blue Streak my last visit, it was actually decent this time. A little bit rough, yes, but it has some nice floater air, and it's cool that they still take care of a 50 year old ride, while it would be long gone at lots of other parks. Mean Streak isn't that rough at all (the roughness really is no worse than most woodies) but the layout is flat out terrible. Even the first drop, for as tall as it is, is boring.
  6. I got on Raptor this past weekend and, unlike last year, my ride was headbang free. But for some reason, the ride feels a bit boring to me. The first drop is awesome and the helix is fun, but the rest was a bit boring. I like both Rougarou and GateKeeer a lot better. Also, during each of my 11 rides on MF during C4K ERT, I greyed out from the top of the first over bank all the way to the first airtime hill. It's definitely a weird experience.
  7. Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point, since it wasn't open our last visit.
  8. I was told by the Dippin' Dots guy we're getting a B&M giga coaster.... In all seriousness, I'm almost sure it'll be a water park ride of some type. That or a minor flat ride.
  9. Seriously? If that's true, then I think I would've rather had it replaced. I mean, not only will it be a mediocre ride, it'll be a mediocre ride with an extremely line long. Hopefully Twisted Twins will be high capacity when it opens. KK really needs a people eater, because all their rides are extremely low capacity.
  10. What do those coasters have anything to do with each other? It's not like Lagoon and CP are competitors.
  11. Thunderbird is a great ride. It's loop is one of the most forceful I've been on, and the rest of the inversions provide lots of airtime and hang time. I personally like GateKeeper, but Thunderbird is far better. Better inversions, it's launch is awesome, there are some moments of airtime, and the themeing is a lot better. Like what others have said, front left is incredible.
  12. ^ That wasn't even a negative post... he was just saying that other peoples' complaints are probably because they're comparing it to Universal/Disney rides. Prozach's posts really haven't been negative at all in months.
  13. Any CP pass holders/regulars know what times Maverick, MF, and TTD will have the shortest lines on a Saturday?
  14. Jesus, it's a FREE event, stop complaining. Just be glad they actually put up with people like you or else they wouldn't have this event at all. Also, it's not like they're going to stop operations right at 12:30. If you're in line, you'll get a ride.
  15. TTD's night ERT was cancelled and replaced with an hour of MF ERT. Power Tower's ERT was also cancelled due to winds. Maverick's ERT line is currently a 10-15 min wait. Not too bad considering there are supposedly 2000 enthusiasts in attendance.
  16. ^Yeah, just tried out the seatbelt trick. Worked like a dream. I'm wondering how it took so long for us all to figure this out, but whatever. Magnum may move up in my rankings a bit.
  17. CoasterMania has been fun so far! A few notes: Registration was a hot mess. The park did acknowledge it at lunch, and you can't fault them for trying a new process, even if it didn't really work out. The lines moved extremely slowly, probably because people were cutting lines left and right. Tony also said that some people forgot their photo IDs, which also held up the process. I mean, really, the CoasterMania website, Tony's Twitter, and lots of other places had tons of reminders of this, yet people still thought they'd get in without a photo ID?! I'm sure this new method could've worked better if people actually listened to the rules. (Disclaimer: Anything that came off as a complaint in the last paragraph isn't meant to be, because who am I to complain about a 100% FREE event?) Finally got on Top Thrill Dragster since it was closed our entire visit last season. What a rush! I'll hopefully get more rides on it later, but that launch was freaking incredible. Rougarou is pretty good. Better than Mantis? Of course. The ride is far more comfortable, and if you lean into the turns (which is very easy), there will be no headbanging at all. We rode twice: row 3 and row 5. Row 5 felt "smoother" (as in you wouldn't get any headbanging even if you just sat still) but it was also pretty forceless. Row 3 was a little more forceful, but the riders around me looked like they were getting thrown around a lot more. My overall consenseus: the ride isn't any more interesting or forceful than it was as Mantis, but its a lot more comfortable, so it's still a big improvement. It's no longer my least favorite B&M in the park (believe it or not, Raptor is). Blue Streak was a lot smoother and airtime filled than I remember it being. It moved up a bit in my rankings.
  18. The crowds at KK are obnoxious, far worse than any other park I've been to. But yeah, Flash Passes really aren't cheap, but they're a "luxury" item. If you don't want to pay for a Flash Pass, go to the park on a day that will have smaller crowds. Problem solved!
  19. ^Try Crown Candy Kitchen, it's near Downtown STL. If you plan on eating at the park, try JB's Smokehouse, Mooseburger, or the new Kickin Chicken/Go Fresh Cafe combo restaurant. Those are our favorites.
  20. I've never actually been on an SLC, but even though they may not be appealing to enthusiasts, they really do look cool, and I'm sure the GP will eat it up. In my opinion, it makes sense for the park to keep T3, because even though they probably still spent a lot on refurbishing it, a brand-new coaster would've been even more expensive. And who knows, the new trains could actually make it a decent ride.
  21. I believe Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disneyland have all been recipients, so maybe that's what they were talking about.
