  1. I was able to visit MoA on Friday, and spent three hours at Nick U. -Pepsi Orange Streak-A fun, smooth coaster that is really more about the sights than the ride. 7.5/10 -SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge-The climb and the drop are really amazing, but the rest of the ride is kind of rough. A pretty thrilling and exciting ride though, definitely the best coaster there. The little themeing around and in the queue is fun. 9/10 -Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles Shell Shock-This ride was the one I was most excited for, because I've never been on anything like it before. It was a pretty boring ride that let me down. It was tough to control the rocking back and forth, and the only notification of how to do so was a group of TVs around the queue. The ride ops told us nothing about how to do so. This is a maintenance nightmare. It broke down multiple times. I don't expect for it to last much longer at the park. The only plus side was its cool view and the themeing of the queue.4/10 -BrainSurge-It was a really fun and unique ride. It really isn't as nauseating as it looks.8.5/10 -Backyardigans Swing-a-Long- Really the same as any other swing ride. It was fun, but turning the seats backwards had really no effect on the ride experience. 5.5/10 Rest of review soon!
  2. My family will be visiting end July/beginning August. We will be staying offsite. Is it worth getting the Express passes for our two days there? How crowded is the park going to be? If we can only get one day of Express pass, should we use it on our day at USF or our day at IoA?
  3. *raises hand* Tony Hawk (or Pandemonium) was better themed (until they dropped Tony's name), it was more family-friend, was something totally original/new to our park(Boomerang is simply a mix of Mr. Freeze and Ninja), looks cooler visually, and is much more smooth. Really no question on this one.
  4. So you're saying Rush Street Flyer doesn't fit in the Illinois section because it is the only ride left there that is themed to Illinois/Chicago?
  5. A lot of people think Outlaw Run and Iron Rattler are tied for steepest drop but they are not. Outlaw Run has the steepest drop on a WOODEN coaster. Iron Rattler is a STEEL coaster. Therefore, they are not tied because iRat is not a wooden coaster. Just wanted to correct you on this because a lot of people have been saying they are tied. No, I know. I was just comparing their aspects, and pointed out that they both have the same steepness.
  6. If Kentucky Kingdom reopens in 2014, I will make sure my family stops there on our theme park road trip.
  7. There's a single rider line at Outlaw Run? I was there opening day and didn't see one, in fact, in the row next to me there was a group of three, and a single rider asked if he could join up with the odd man out.
  8. Somebody should graffiti this onto the billboard SFSTL has that faces the highway... "Boomerang is actually a 24 year old coaster that simply was not good enough for Six Flags Over Texas, and is probably just here to annoy loyal park goers and to bring Ninja to it's end. Congrats, we got a headbanger so that in a few years, our favorite headbanger can be removed and there will still be a looping coaster in the park. Also, I'd like to point out Six Flags Magic Mountain is getting a brand-new launched roller coaster that loops, launches backwards, and launches forwards. And Six Flags didn't give us new trains that would stop the headbanging, did they? Nope, we're getting trains that have been carved on by a certain TPR member."
  9. I personally think Outlaw Run looks like a much better coaster. Outlaw's layout seems to flow a lot better, mostly because I think it's stupid to have two over-banked turns in a row both going the same way. Outlaw Run has a higher drop (but only by two feet), even though they're both tied for the angle of the drop. Outlaw Run goes upside-down three times, I-Rat goes upside-down once. I have rode Outlaw Run, so of course I'll need to ride I-Rat to really see which one is better. And I'm not saying I-Rat looks bad, it just doesn't look as thrilling as Outlaw Run was. Just my two cents.
  10. Also, Yakov is no longer performing year round in Branson. He will only be performing in Oct to Nov this year. I don't know if his show will continue at all in 2014 though. But his theatre will remain in his ownership indefinitely, so I'm guessing he is still going to continue performing seasonally.
  11. My sister and I were among the crowd on opening day. I personally thought Outlaw Run was absolutely breathtaking, but my sister was not impressed (she was probably the only one in the park who had that opinion ) I rode it twice with an hour wait each time. My family bought passes so we will be returning.
  12. So the gp can start riding around 10? Is there an opening ceremony at 9 open to public though? Also, I doubt the other rides other than the Giant Swing and Outlaw Run will be crowded since that area will be the main attraction on Friday. Although Powderkeg will probably be crowded too
  13. I'm planning on going to Sdc on Friday. What time are opening ceremonies for Outlaw Run? How long will the lines be?
  14. I actually like the exterior of the building. It looks cool to me.
  15. I have a stupid question, but it's been bugging me. When the Springfield area opens, will it continue to be in the World Expo section of the park, or will it be a new land called "Springfield" or "Springfield From The Simpons" or something like that? Cause if the area was renamed, the only World Expo attractions would be MIB and that Fear Factor show that hardly ever runs. Of course, at Disney, there's the Storybook Circus that is technically in Fantasyland even though it is pretty much a separate land. Sorry, for being a nerd, but well, I am one so...
  16. I decided to look back at past trip reports from Orlando, and I just now realized how much themeing Universal just got rid of by getting rid of Jaws. Of course, J.K. Rowling is going to require even more themeing be put in WWoHP Part 2. Also, does anybody know what other attractions will be put in other than Gringott's and another Ollivander's. What is Universal even going to call the land? The Muggle-ing World of Harry Potter?
  17. This ride is very overrated. I have no idea why it is so highly acclaimed. Is it the "surprise" drop at the halfway point? I really don't get it. And the Legend has been getting very rough over the past few years. I'm not sure when you last rode it, but this season, it was very rough. My first trip to Holiday World was this year. The roughest ride was The Voyage but it was still the best. The Legend and Raven didnt feel very rough. But yes, Raven is actually the last coaster on my wooden list. All wooden coasters from SFSTL and SFGAm beat it.
  18. Pleasant: Raging Bull @ Six Flags Great America. At the time I didn't know what a hyper coaster was, so my night-ride on this blew me away. Unpleasant: Raven @ Holiday World. There's so much buzz about this ride, but this was my first time I was actually bored on a roller coaster. The Legend and The Voyage are both better, in my opinion.
  19. I think the Boss should get Topper Track and Timberliner trains. I'd be fine with a barrel roll added, but I think its a good wood coaster. It doesn't really NEED steel track to make it better.
  20. My 3rd edit: Definitely Six Flags St. Louis (season pass) Holiday World Magic Kingdom EPCOT Disney's Hollywood Studios Disney's Animal Kingdom Universal Studios Florida Universal's Islands Of Adventure SeaWorld Orlando Most Likely Six Flags Great America Silver Dollar City Nickelodeon Universe Hopefully Dollywood Cedar Point King's Island
  21. My plans keep changing. Now the most likely schedule is this: MOST LIKELIES -Six Flags St. Louis (season pass) -Nickelodeon Universe -Holiday World -Dollywood -Magic Kingdom -EPCOT -Disney's Hollywood Studios -Disney's Animal Kingdom -Universal Studios Florida -Universal's Islands Of Adventure -SeaWorld Orlando POSSIBLIES -Cedar Point -Kings Island -Silver Dollar City
  22. I think a Stringray would make sense. Or maybe a looping spinning coaster?
  23. Did you count the original as a credit, than count the second version as another one?
  24. Does anybody notice right after you go outside on Test Track there's a building with a black/yellow paint scheme, obviously because of the past theme of TT. Is Disney going to repaint it to fit a futuristic theme or will it stay like that? I know it's only a small detail, but Disney is supposed to pay attention to things like that...
