  1. I think you're missing the point of why no parks are interested - the park was a bad idea to begin with. It's not as though Six Flags, Cedar Fair, etc, don't know this park exists. Of course they do. They also probably know exactly why it failed... TWICE... and I can't see any park operator in the world wanting to come in and buy the property to do anything other than take the rides and install them in other parks. This park will never re-open...or I should say never re-open successfully, so either at some point it all needs to be sold for scrap, or they'll have to get desperate and sell off all the rides. --Robb I get it, Robb. I was just dreaming. Anyway, If those nutty people somehow get another deal to purchase the land, they should keep the theme-ing on all the rides, but the exit sign should say: "Hoped you enjoyed your ride to HELL!" with a devil impersonator next to it screaming at the riders about if they made the right choice. Have all the exits lead to a building where the owners can chain up park visitors and brainwash them that God hates rock music. Oh god, I have a messed up brain.
  2. I wonder if any park chains are interested in buying the property? Six Flags could maybe add in a Batman clone and a few flats and get this park running again. I hope Led Zeppelin and Maximum RPM get relocated at the least. SFSTL could really use them.
  3. It has always closed with the water park I believe. Even so, when I went on the cam, Rhino Blas- I mean, Hyena Falls was still open. So I don't know what happened.
  4. Thank you. People have been saying that these backwards transformations are just gimmicks, but I think they are good for SFGAm since they don't get a new ride this year.
  5. Oh beautiful Title Fairy, I request a title that states: "Rocky Mountain Construction built my prized donkey!" "
  6. 1. Millennium Force 2. Top Thrill Dragster 3. GateKeeper 4. Maverick Here's four top choices
  7. A rumor for a stage show to replace Beauty and the Beast is a Tangled musical. I personally like the movie Tangled, but Disney overuses the movie nowadays. If Mickey and the Magical Map does come to Disney World I hope it has a new creative twist to set the shows apart.
  8. When I was there, the lightning had to be really close to shut anything down
  9. Thanks. I already saw that, I was just wondering if Antarctica would be added on by the time visit at the end of July.
  10. What words are "grape flavored fruit chew" replacing? Lol
  11. I visited the park yesterday, here's a quick trip report: We got there right after the park opened. I had misplaced my pass, so we headed to guest relations to get another one printed. My dad and I got the dining pass added on (more on that later), but my sister didn't get one because she hardly comes with us anymore. First we headed towards American Thunder, but stopped at the Moon Cars, which had no wait (my sister loves them). I really doubt Six Flags has any plans to do so, but the Cars deserve a better track. The track is ugly and short and really makes the ride pointless. We got a ride on American Thunder, which was amazing and airtime-filled, as usual, then got sprinkled with water on the Log Flume. Mr. Freeze had a twenty minute wait with only the right side running, but broke down as we got up to the loading area, because the train had stopped halfway into the station. We left, and were bummed when it was running five minutes later. I got a cold drink as my sister and dad rode Scooby Doo, then we headed to Mooseburger, our favorite restaurant in the park, for some good eating. We sat on a bench afterwards and watched Boomerang test a few times. A few notes: 1. The train actually looks okay on the ride and it does have orange and green stripes on top of the yellow. 2. The landscaping in the area has been improved. 3. SQUEAKY. Are there new wheels, or does the paint make the noise? Then we took the Train for a ride. Afterwards, we were up for a show and headed to the Palace Porch to see Looney Tunes We Got The Beat. It sucked. It was possibly the worst show I've ever seen. The country saloon show looked pretty good, but we didn't see it. The performers were outside, with old western music playing, and for some reason I felt like I was in Silver Dollar City for a second. I never thought I'd get that feeling at SFSTL. After the horribleness that was the Looney Tunes show, we went to the Boss and got on with a five minute wait, a pleasant surprise. We got another drink refill at the Mooseburger Lodge Coke Freestyle machine, then headed to Batman with a ten minute wait. My sister begged to swim at the wave pool, so we went there and let her swim. My sister used my dad's dining pass and got the pizza meal at Primos and I got chicken strips (for the second time that day) at Cowabunga Burgers. We left around 4:30. It was an okay day at the park. Next time I'll have to try Macho Nacho Burritos, which is basically like a Qdoba restaurant.
  12. Is Transformers going to be an exact copy of the rides at the other Universal parks or will it have a few surprises added in?
  13. If Six Flags parks have metal detectors, why don't Disney parks have them?
  14. Well I'm just guessing it was. I really doubt an international terrorist would put a DRY ICE bomb in a trashcan at Disneyland. I don't know, I just presumed it was an American pulling some idiotic prank.
  15. Is Antarctica included on SeaWorld's front-of-the-line pass thingy? If it's not I probably won't ride it on my vacation.
  16. A couple of new rides I wouldn't mind at Holiday World: -A Rocky Mountain Construction coaster similar to Outlaw Run -A hyper coaster with LOTS of Also, I know it is never going to happen, but what if there was an April Fools Day land? Probably no rides, just a bunch of novelty stores and lots of plastic dog poop sitting around on the benches. Paula, please inform the managers of this urgently needed mini-land.
  17. This makes no sense. While this bomb would never have hurt anyone, why would somebody try to rile up a mass of people in a children's area of a theme park? God, I can't believe the crap some of us Americans do these days.
  18. How is this a debate? Hades is a wooden coaster. Just like Voyage is a wooden coaster. They both have wooden tracks and steel supports.
  19. With rumors being speculated for a show or big ride to replace Beauty and the Beast, could Mickey and the Magical Map be a possibility? It fits with the Sorcerer Mickey theme from nearby Fantasmic.
  20. Did anybody make it up for the 24 hour all nighter? Are there any trip reports with photos?
  21. I wish I could ride at least one of the backwards transformations this year, but with my various trips to Silver Dollar City and my big trip to Orlando, it may be hard to do so.
  22. The green and orange are fine. The yellow just throws it off for me.
  23. I'd probably lean toward Studios. There are more shows and less 54" rides. I guess it really depends on if the 10 year old is 54" yet, and if the 60 year olds like pretty significant big coasters. MIB, Simpsons, ET, and even the Mummy are all good tweener attractions, and I believe Transformers will be one too. Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket is 51". At IOA Hulk, and Dragons Challenge are 54" and Dr. Doom is 52". IOA has the better water rides for sure. The 10 year old is 54". I believe we are leaning towards IoA. The seniors aren't into big coasters, but are wanting to see Harry Potter. The more I think about this, I would take leaning towards the Studios to recommended. What may be better for you to decide, is to take off the attractions from both parks that your group won't likely do. Both of these parks are a bit on the small side. I feel like they are each about 3/4 day parks. So if you subtract Dragons Challenge from Harry Potter, HP just got a lot smaller and you are left with just the Forbidden Journey and Flight of the Hippogriff. Next if you subtract Hulk and Dr. Dooms that most/part of your group won't do, you are left with a much smaller IOA. If you subtract Hollywod rip ride rocket from Studios that your group may not do, it's not nearly as big of a loss. Also, this ride does not go upside down, and is getting it's problems fixed. So it should become a lot smoother, but I don't know when. Studios has street entertainment like the Blues Brothers, a parade, and a night time show. It's more of an entertainment park then IOA. Are you the one who really wants to see Harry Potter and the rest of your group is just going along? Does your Dad/Grandparents know much or care about either park and is perhaps letting you have some influence? Is there any way you can upgrade to the 1 day 2 park ticket and do both? That's how I do the Universal resort. I go during slow times and get there before opening. You will have the benefit of Express passes, but a busier time. If this was 2014 and HP 2.0 was open, I think it would be a easy decision. I do like IOA better myself. I just think the Studios would be better overall for your entire group. My grandparents said they have no real desire for Universal Studios because their friend told them it was really run down except for the Harry Potter land, so that's the only area there they care about. My sister really couldn't care less about which one we visit. My dad is seeing if we can get a discounted park hopper ticket instead.
