The "Pleasant/Unpleasant Surprise" Thread
Woodie Warrior replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Unpleasant Surprises 3. Wildfire at Silver Dollar City- This ride is fun, don't get me wrong, but is not worth the hype SDC gives it. Plus, it is over-shadowed by Powder Keg. 2. Raven at Holiday World- It had a lot of hype so I was excited. But it was really boring and short. I think it was the only ride at Holiday World that we PURPOSELY did not re-ride. It was okay... kinda... 1. Frightful Falls at Holiday World- Various Six Flags parks have been bad-mouthed for their lack of themed log flumes. This ride had some Styrofoam graves near the ride and that was about it. Plus, it's drop was like 20 feet LOL. Pleasant Surprises (I have a lot) 3. Powder Keg at Silver Dollar City- It was supposed to be inferior to Wildfire. It was supposed by be a boring, no-inversion family coaster. But it wasn't. It was pure fun. 3. Raging Bull at Six Flags Great America- My #1 steel coaster, my #2 coaster overall. But I didn't expect it to surpass some of my other top steels. 2. The GIANT Barn Swing at Silver Dollar City- I wasn't expecting much. But I loved it. We re-rode it the next day. 1 (tied). American Thunder at Six Flags St. Louis- We ran into a friend at the park and she told us that the ride sucked. Then we rode it. Next time I saw her, I almost called her an idiot. 1 (tied). The Legend at Holiday World- I was disappointed by Raven, so I was worried this ride would turn out to suck 10000000000000000x time more. But it didn't. It's #2 on my woodie list. -
2004- No new ride 2005- Brand-new ride 2006- Relocated ride from Astroworld 2007- Brand-new ride 2008- Brand-new ride 2009- Brand-new ride 2010- No new ride 2011- Brand-new ride 2012- Brand-new ride 2013- Relocated ride from Over Texas In the past ten years, we've gotten 6 brand-new rides and 2 relocated rides. And the last relocated ride we received, which is Superman, was added 7 years ago.

Really? When I went it closed at the same time as Splashin' Safari. -

Hasn't Pilgrims Plunge/Giraffica always been closed when Splashin' Safari was? -

You guys are missing the part that says: My predictions- HW- Timberliners for Voyage SS- Re-naming of a slide? But IDK why? Maybe a new "Bonzai Pipeline"-ish slide with the name "Amazoom"? -

Anyway, I don't think Holiday World has any new rides for 2013. Last year they announced Mammoth and Sparkler in August, and it's October. Hopefully the new Voyage trains are okay. -

They already have another kid area, and the only ride worth saving is the kid coaster, but it could easily be moved into a new location. -

Yeah, I looked again at a park map, and that's only big enough space for a wild mouse or a half-pipe coaster. Anyway, the station could be located near Pilgrims Plunge, head towards the Holidog's Fun Town area, have a cool element (loop, corkscrew, double-barrel roll) right next to the road, then head back and have a long section in the empty area behind the Voyage. Possible Names -aMAIZEing Adventure -Mashed Potatoes Mambo -The Indian Ceremony -Cornball Craziness LOL Holiday World you really chose a bad holiday to expand on Better Ride Names -Virginian Velocity -Plymouth Rock Rumble -The Hunting -
The problem is, if we ever get a hyper coaster, Ninja will be the one it will replace. Mine Train would be my second choice. But it's a "classic" (opened in 1971) ride and actually can have a semi-long line. Ninja, on the other hand, is a semi-classic ride, but it NEVER has ANY line. And I'm all for expansion and not removing a ride every year, but then they'd have to hire additional workers every year, which we all know is too expensive for them.

My hopes for the next two years of Holiday World: 2013- New Timberliner trains for Voyage 2014- Holidog's Fun Town rides moved to Christmas Area, new steel coaster in that area
