Yes, but they have 9 days to finish building the ride which I think could be completed in 4 or 5 days from this point. Then they would only have 4 days to test the ride, which I'm not sure is enough. There is no doubt in my mind that they could have the area built by the 20th. But will they be able to open the ride and restaurants? Maybe they will pull a Knott's Berry Farm and dedicate/ceremonially open the ride, but not have it ride-able. I don't know, I'm sure Universal could possibly open it by the 20th if they REALLY REALLY REALLY try hard to do lots of construction overnight. If they get it open by the 20th, this will be their biggest feat yet.

They have 9 days to get everything in Simpsons land complete for the "possible" press opening. They have yet to complete the ride, finish the queue, and make the ground look nice for Kang and Kodos. And testing needs to be done as well. Duff Gardens doesn't look anywhere near done, and Lards Lads looks about the same. I don't think Universal will be able to do it. But I'd like to see their best attempt.

I did the Insane Coaster Wars shooting. The rides were the most intense I've had in the daytime. The guy in charge of the episode told my sister and I to ride in the second row, which made us happy. It was a really good experience and I hope I can visit another park sometime soon to be on the show again. If ICW comes anywhere near you guys, GO!!! You get to be on TV and get free admission to the park!

Insane Coaster Wars Season Two!

On my Tivo It said the episode "featured" the world's fastest coaster, but it never said this was about "speed" coasters. This season isn't grouping similar coasters together, but instead it's putting four coasters, each of which have received very high critical praise, against each other. Formula Rossa, while unable to be ranked in the Mitch Hawker poll due to the amount of riders it had, might be the fastest, but do you think it would beat out Shambhala which ranked at #6 in the world? Tatsu is the world's longest, tallest, and fastest flying coaster Superman has been in the top 20 steel coasters in the world for nearly 10 years. I don't see what the issue is here. These are all four REALLY SOLID rides. As far as this episode being about "Speed", that's not something that I felt was ever communicated, but perhaps you just misinterpreted it? I feel like a broken record when I keep having to tell people that a show like this is NOT specifically aimed at people who would be die-hards or members of this forum. It's for the "general public" and giving them a wider variety of coasters, from different locations all over the world, just makes a lot more sense to me. I agree. When I saw the list of roller coasters to be featured, I thought, "WOW! For the first time on the show I really have no clue which one will win!" The reason I think people were somewhat "misled" is because the title of the episode, according to my DVR and Charter, was "World's Fastest Coasters". -
Hey! I saw you there for the Insane Coaster Wars shooting. That sucks that you weren't impressed by the ride. I thought it was just as fast and intense as it has always been. Maybe the seats on the train affect the intensity of the ride. My dad and I agree that it will most likely come in last place in whatever episode it is featured. If Outlaw Run is up against the Boss, we all know which one will win.

Insane Coaster Wars Season Two!

While I did very much love last night's episode, I do have to agree that Tatsu made no sense being in the episode. I think an accelerator coaster could have been used instead. That is the only strange/confusing thing this year: the pairings of coasters. At least next episode will feature coasters VERY similar, apparently they will all have a 305-foot height. -
On Kang and Kodos I believe it'll be like Dumbo where you can control your height, but you will also be able to spin the car around in the air. I think it will be like a teacup mounted on an arm that you can lower up and down. I could be completely wrong, but that is what I think the ride is based off the concept art.

Insane Coaster Wars Season Two!

That one episode was better than the entire first season!!! I love it! (and I did love the first season, just making that clear) I like the new voting system and actually used it on the Boss earlier today , but I'm wondering, if there are eight categories to vote on and each one can go up to 100 points (making each ballot up to 800 total possible points), how can a coaster be ranked out of 1000 points on the show? Or did season two use ten categories instead? Then each ballot would be worth up to 1000 points and they could average the scores. -

Didn't the 2013 announcement have a laser light show for the summer listed? -

So did Holiday World actually get that light-show or did they not ever actually produce it? Because I can't find it on the website. -

The BEST roller coaster view EVER???
Woodie Warrior replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While those views of those are amazing, High Roller that used to be at the Stratosphere Tower had a great (but terrifying) view of Las Vegas. -

I think they took the top ranking coaster from each episode, and then in two of the categories the coasters were really close so those 4 made it in as well. We don't even know if El Toro was even #2 in its episode. The Beast could have been up there too. It also made no sense why Aftershock won its episode when WAY better inverted/flying coasters were there (like Manta). But hey, the gp obviously saw the backwards part and went "OMG!!!". But hey, the show is awesome anyways.
