  1. Eh I emailed the adress about it, but I don't think I'll hear anything back in time.
  2. Guessing it is too late to sign up for the Boss shoot?
  3. Oh I didn't see that. Well I guess I'll just be happy seeing my home park on TV. I'm sad I probably can't go.
  4. I would say Raging Bull, X-Flight, Superman, Vertical Velocity, Batman, they are all VERY thrilling coasters. The only thing more thrilling than those rides would be a accelerator coaster like Top Thrill or Kingda Ka, but I don't think SF is going to be building any more of the 400+ feet tall ones thanks to Kingda Ka's maintenance issues with all the lightning strikes and whatnot. I know this forum is not to compare SFGAm and SFSTL, but I'm sorry, if any SF park needs a major/signature coaster it is SFSTL. All of our roller coasters can be found at other parks that have more coasters, so why would anybody not in the area visit our park. I don't think we will ever get a B&M hyper, but Iron Horse for the Boss would be nice. Okay, I'm done ranting. All I'm saying is, SFGAm is a great park with nice and thrilling coasters, a good selection of flats, and your management keeps all the "retro" rides in. All you guys need is a couple of more modern flats, like a Screamin' Swing or a SkyScreamer. A purple and gold SkyScreamer could be a nice replacement for Ragin' Cajun. Or maybe for Condor. Screamin' Swing could replace Ragin' Cajun too.
  5. Can anybody answer me on if Insane Coaster Wars is filming at the park tomorrow????
  6. I made it down to SFSTL again today and noticed a few things: 1) Trains from SFNO are sitting under the Batman, and they are the same type that run on the Boss. If Boss is "possibly" getting Iron Horse next year, why would they just now be receiving replacement trains? 2) There is an ICW poster outside of Mr. Freeze. Are they going to be filming at the park tomorrow? If so, do you need to sign up to ride the coaster or can anyone ride? 3) Boomerang had a 45-60 minute wait all day. I rode and waited about 20 minutes thanks to being able to get there early with a Gold Pass. Ride was really smooth except for the cobra roll and entering the second lift hill. The ride was a lot smoother than the Ninja. I give SFSTL full rights to replace the Ninja now that we have another looping coaster. 4) Waits were relatively short: -20 minute wait (for me) on Boomerang -5 minute wait for Mine Train -walk on for Mr. Freeze -walk on for American Thunder -25 minute wait for Batman -walk on for Ninja -15 minute wait for Screamin' Eagle -30 minute wait for the Boss We rode every coaster except for Pandemonium. Got every ride we wanted done from 10:20 to around 2:30, then we decided not to stay til' 4:30 (when the dining pass was ready for dinner), and headed home around 3:00.
  7. Are Boss and Mr. Freeze at SFSTL going to be on ICW in season three?
  8. Wait, is Insane Coaster Wars filming at SFSTL???
  9. It sounds like Hades 360 did exactly what it was supposed to do. It was a gimmick to get people through the gates and it worked. Mount Olympus didn't retrack the entire ride, they just added a corkscrew and convinced people to come to the park to ride it. Sounds like it worked out fine for them
  10. This is a long shot, but maybe they completely retheme Hollywood Studios to an entire park based on companies that Disney owns: Jim Henson, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and PIXAR. That leaves Tower of Terror, Rock n Roller Coaster, and the Great Movie Ride to be dealt with. I could see Rock n Roller with an AD/DC soundtrack themed to Iron Man. Tower of Terror, well I don't really know. Great Movie Ride could be updated to just have scenes from Indiana Jones, Star Wars, the Avengers, Thor, Iron Man, etc. I'm just dreaming again.
  11. I hope it looks better up close. The projections are very cool. The singing was, well, um... average Six Flags quality . I really couldn't see the dancing. It is sad that amazing projection system went into THAT show. I just really wasn't impressed by the plot and singing in the show. Maybe next year just pair up that awesome projection system with lasers and those glow-in-the-dark people/dancers and build an entire spectacular out of that.
  12. Exactly what I thought lol Even looking at the rider cam you can see there is no on the ride. I can't believe changing the motor pretty much solved the biggest complaints about these rides.
  13. I don't know where you heard that, but that is 100% not true. It stated that in a news article, that the penguins were very desperate to escape and were sneaking out under the net. The news could just be hearing rumors, but they quoted a worker at the park saying that I believe. I'll keep looking for the link.
  14. This is what sets Disney apart from the competition. At my home park (SFSTL) the wheelchair entrance for Screamin' Eagle is up two flights of stairs. Great job, Six Flags. Glad you had a good time!
  15. Great report! It is nice to see somebody with positive thoughts on SFSTL. I have been skeptical on if this Boomerang was actually an okay new attraction, but my friends who went today and rode said while it is not the best in the park (of course), it beats the Ninja and is actually fairly smooth. I've been down five times this season and I am returning tomorrow to ride Boomerang and try out some more dining pass meals. I'm glad I'm not the only one impressed with all the repainting occurring on the restaurants and shops. The management is really making the park look nice this year. SFSTL looks great this year, and even though we didn't get any major ride, I'm proud of our park.
  16. It is really sad that the new ride disappoints. I thought the ride was going to be Simulator/video scene Live penguin scene Simulator/video scene Live penguin scene Simulator/video scene Live penguin exhibit But really it is Preshow Long cave scene Simulator scene Simulator scene Live penguin scene Live penguin exhibit The concept art really doesn't match any parts of the ride. I would have liked live penguins placed around the entire ride like it looked in the art. What is the point of seeing the penguins like that through the glass as the "finale" when two minutes later you can see the penguins without anything separating you (well except for that ugly net for now)
  17. Personally, I don't think that SFGAm really needs another coaster. The next time the park will need a new coaster is when one closes. And really, all of SFGAm's coasters look like they will be there for a long time. If the park ever tried to remove American Eagle or Whizzer, park fans would go into a frenzy, so I don't think either of those classic coasters will be removed until they are no longer stable. Batman, Raging Bull, Superman, Vertical Velocity, Viper, and X-Flight are all popular and exciting rides and are safe. Dark Knight and Little Dipper aren't very exciting, but they are moderately popular and new, so I'm sure they are safe to stay. Spacely's is kind of needed as a calm family coaster. So the only rides I could see going are Ragin' Cajun and Demon. Demon is sort of a classic and is a toss-up, but I don't know if it would leave enough space for anything great. Iron Wolf had a very small footprint, but removing Spacely's or replacing Ragin' Cajun with it could add a little more room. In fact, all of Camp Cartoon could be relocated or just removed. Really, SFGAm could use a few modern flats, like a Screamin' Swing or maybe a SkyScreamer. The park has a nice variety of flats, but none of them are modern.
  18. With Universal Studios starting to create mini-lands inside their parks (Harry Potter Diagon Alley and Springfield) and rumors of Star Wars and Cars mini-lands coming to Hollywood Studios, could this be the beginning of having themed lands inside of Hollywood-themed parks instead of having an entire backlot theme for every attraction? For example, could we see Toy Story or Muppet themed lands enter the parks around their attractions? Or will these mini-lands only be created for brand new attractions and slowly take over the park with their theme. By 2020, could Hollywood Studios only have three lands: Radiator Springs, Star Wars Galaxy, and Hollywood?
  19. Transformers and the Simpsons area look very cool. I can't wait to visit in July.
  20. I'm headed to SFSTL tomorrow. I'm most likely going to eat at Macho Nachos and Mooseburger. We will aim to ride Boomerang once, then ride American Thunder, Mr. Freeze, Batman, and the Boss as many times as we can from 10:30-4:30. I'll try to take a video of the opening ceremony for Boomerang.
  21. I'll update my list: ALREADY VISITED -Nickelodeon Universe (April 12) -Silver Dollar City (March 15) -SIx Flags St. Louis (5 visits) DEFINITELY GOING TO VISIT -Six Flags St. Louis (season pass) -Silver Dollar City (season pass) -SeaWorld Orlando -Universal Studios Florida -Universal's Islands of Adventure -EPCOT -Magic Kingdom -Disney's Hollywood Studios -Disney's Animal Kingdom POSSIBLY GOING TO VISIT -Kings Island -Worlds of Fun -Six Flags Great America
  22. A news article stated the nets are normally only down at night, but because of the incidents they are down 24/7 until the penguins adapt to the environment. But sadly, they are still escaping UNDER the net. I don't know what is wrong with the exhibit. The St. Louis Zoo has a very similar environment, with the glass 4-6 higher than the water, and according to animal keepers, they very rarely have a penguin escape. I would hope that they ultimately shut the ride down for a few days and just raise the glass higher, possibly all the way to the ceiling. I'd rather have that than this ugly net. I'm sure that SeaWorld has a plan already, but I hope they start fixing the problem soon.
  23. The Spongebob and Fairy Odd coasters were kind of rough, probably due to not having concrete footers because they are indoors.
  24. Few questions about Simpsons area: -Is Lards Lad open, and is it a separate building from the fast food? -Do Frying Dutchman and Luigi's have outdoor facades? -When will Kang and Kodos open? -When will Duff Gardens open?
