  1. I thought the pacing of the new format was really good. I particularly liked the Hard Rock Park question - gave some interesting industry insight. One of the things I liked about last year's clips was seeing the ride companies showing off the bits and pieces they'd brought to the show - models, rollercoaster cars, and in Zamperla's case, the Air Race! It would be cool if there was the chance to see some more of that this year. Thanks for this awesome IAAPA coverage Robb. I woke up this morning to a ton of photos and news, and by the time I'd finished work today the video was up - brilliant!
  2. Kozmo's Kurves - Knoebels
  3. Luigi's was VERY busy last night:
  4. Hydra - Dorney Park
  5. Flight of Fear - Kings Island AND Kings Dominion!
  6. So the Santa's Little Helper balloon gives a stack of XP (I'm getting 5.5k with each one). It cannot be sold back for cash though... going to have to work out what to do with these things (it's kind of mesmerising to watch them float around):
  7. Great TR! Waldameer is a fantastic little park, the log flume is superb and it has the best drop tower anywhere! The clientele are definitely.. uh, unique?
  8. Knoebels: Don't change it. Park is already awesome.
  9. Boomerang: Boomerang at Knott's SLC: Lethal Weapon at Movie World Flying Dutchman: Firehawk at Kings Island
  10. All I can think of is the sorts of things they'll have to do to the food to be able to pump it up to the tables. Boneless turkey leg, anyone?
  11. ^The rumour I heard is that the food would be prepared in a kitchen below the restaurant, and then pumped up through serving trays fixed to the table. Servers would place lids on the "empty" trays, wait a few seconds while the trays are filled, then remove the lid. Frankly this sounds like a joke to me, but if they could pull it off it'd be impressive.
  12. 18 on the Disney quiz, which is pretty consistent with my level of Disney fandom. Only 6 on TV and movies... would Pacific Park be the park most regularly featured on screen "of all time"? I can think of at least a dozen shows which have used it as a location.
  13. I kind of wish he hadn't quit, because I was holding out hope that we'd one day see Colton and NaOnka on the same tribe. Bucket of laughs, right there. Kind of wanting Gervas to win this one.
  14. If Disney had kept the holiday additions to Jungle Cruise a surprise, without any big announcement, I reckon it would have received a completely different reception - "hey, that's kind of cool!" instead of "ugh, what a letdown". I definitely like that they're looking for ways to make old attractions more interesting, but they probably ought to ease up on the hype meter on some of these things.
  15. Another one on the bucket list
  16. ^When he quit during Blood vs Water, Jeff made a comment stating that he'd faked the illness in the earlier season, in order to be evacuated.
  17. The concept art looks great - as if I needed another reason to be excited about the Scandi trip!
  18. I quite liked last season, but the family aspect to this one is making it very interesting, and gives the redemption island mechanic more meaning. Disappointed to see Rupert kicked out so early but the rest of the season has made up for it though. Kind of annoyed that Colton quit a second time, don't expect to see him at the reunion show (Caleb must be a very patient BF!).
  19. Wild One - Six Flags America The only coaster I've ever thought was going to fall apart, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom-style, as I was riding it.
  20. Please do, unless you want a gift based solely on the information available in the Google Maps view of your house...
  21. How busy was the last day of Food & Wine compared with the weekend before? I'm thinking about making my first Orlando trip around this time next year, trying to figure out the best timing in terms of avoiding huge crowds (where possible) but also being able to experience events like F&W and the Christmas Party.
  22. I could see Marvel anchoring its own park since it's a mix of sci-fi and fantasy elements, but who knows. Kinda hope Star Wars doesn't take over too much of Tomorrowland though. Star Wars has a number of iconic set-piece locations that could form the basis for a richly themed 'land', I feel like Marvel haven't quite established any of those yet (apart from perhaps Asgard). Not sure how well a big Cars Land-style built environment would fit into Tomorrowland though, seems more like something for a DCA/DHS park.
  23. Got mine. Thankfully this person is less of an enigma than last year's giftee. Whoever's buying for me, my interests include Batman, The Muppets and LEGO. I haven't found anywhere I can buy the Swedish Fish candy in Australia. I have a (sizeable) collection of theme park magnets which I'm always looking to grow, and park maps are always interesting!
  24. Zoomerang - Lake Compounce
  25. ^^Everything is so bright again. Ow! My eyes!
