  1. ^ No they have had problems before, even during construction.
  2. ^ Oh ok thank you for clearing that up. That being said though a 60mph spinning coaster would sure empty the stomachs of most if one was to be built.
  3. I don't know where you heard that from, but the Joker goes 31 mph. It was in the article that was posted about The Joker coming to Six Flags Mexico.
  4. Does the ride really reach speeds of 60mph? That seems kind of crazy for a ride that only reaches 5 stories.
  5. ^ Well considering that other Windseeker's have had problems before I guess this was bound to happen at some point.
  6. ^ Yah I will be interested to see what they do with the maze to make it worth the add on charge.
  7. ^ Ok thank you for all the help. The trapped add on maze looks like it could be a blast if I could get a group of friends together to do it.
  8. ^ Well if you had to choose one event which would you go too?
  9. So basically: HHN: Quality over Quantity Vs. KSF: Quantity over Quality. Is there any other pros or cons I should know about? Like are lines usually shorter at one or the other? I went to HHN last year and it was extremely crowded with 75+ min. waits for all mazes and around hour waits for attractions.
  10. Off the topic of PP: If I could only go to Knott's Scary Farm or Halloween Horror Nights, which one should I go too, or at least what are the pros and cons of both?
  11. ^ It was certainly a combination of the two but the cycle time was just ridiculous. Boomerang had twice the capacity of PP on the day I went if not more. I mean boats were literally being dispatched every 6 min. Plus two of the seats were broken.
  12. ^ Yah PP was just doomed from the start. It's removal is bitter sweet for me because I have had so much fun on this ride. But it just has so many problems that I think it is the right decision and it really took up too much land for a ride with such bad capacity and so many problems.
  13. ^ Even if it were built with something like a dual station it would still get horrible capacity. I wen't on PP in July and they were running one boat just about every 5-6 min. Plus two of the seats were broken so that gives the ride an hourly capacity of about...264 riders per hour, just pitiful. Especially when you look at what it was estimated to be able to run at with full capacity: 1600 riders per hour. If this ride get's rebuilt it is probably going to Michigans Adventure like many other people have said.
  14. ^ Can a dive machine even do that? I have just always wondered because there have been a few dive machines already and almost all of them seem to be vertical drops so I always wondered why no one wanted anything else like a beyond vertical drop.
  15. ^ Agreed. A dive machine would be a good fit for Knott's because there is really nothing like it on the west coast.
  16. As pretty as this would look I'd think the park would probably go more with a new flat or coaster.
  17. ^ Sure hope that's not the reason. I mean it's not like it could cost that much for Knott's to just let the ride sit there which makes me think the rapid demo is for a 2013 project that needs to be started soon to be completed.
  18. It interests me how fast the park is working on the demo of PP. Hope this means they are rushing to put in a large project by next year.
  19. ^ Or they could pull a Silver Dollar City on us and just not tell us for a few weeks after vertical construction.
  20. Yah they really started quick didn't they. I will be interested to see if they modify PP's pond area at all or if they just leave it for whatever is coming.
  21. ^ I am not an expert on LIM's and LSM's, I just found that on that website. Maybe the LSM's can't launch out of a station because for the fixed magnetic field to launch you, you have to be traveling past the magnets.
  22. ^ In a nutshell: An LSM is a Linear Synchronous Motor while a LIM is a Linear Induction Motor. The synchronous motor has a fixed magnetic field in either the rotor or the stator (in the case of Superman: The Escape it is a permanent magnet on the bottom of the vehicle) while the induction motor uses an induced magnetic field in the reaction plate...the aluminum fin attached to the train. Found this on CoasterBuzz.com. Also I think this is a bit outdated as Superman: The Escape is now Superman: Escape from Krypton.
  23. Didn't realize the quake was that long ago. Sorry.
