  1. I have no idea but its a pet peeve of mine. Do not show up first thing in the morning smelling like sh**. I get it end of the day when its 90 out but come on people you can do better. Stop spending all night arguing about which park is getting t-rex and trolling people with dippin dots guy talk and spend 15 minutes taking a fu**ing shower.
  2. That's really strange, but thanks for reinforcing my decision to stay away from coaster enthusiast events. For whatever reason this comment reminded me of Banshee media day when an overly excited enthusiast kept jumping into the conversation my wife and I were having. I would have probably been nicer had it not been first thing in the morning and it smelled like he avoided showering for several days. There is no excuse for that first thing in the morning. I just kept turning away and ignoring. Yeah not the nicest but i am not always going to be nice.
  3. I typically ride Diamondback just because my wife likes it. I have always found it to be mediocre but I also like intense coasters that throw me around or speed coasters. It is fun but not my favorite.
  4. I think I could deal with the coastermania crowd in order to get all of the ERT. I am really considering it for next year with what is being worked on.
  5. What I am most curious about and it is because i am closest to these is there is 200k difference in Kings Island and Cedar Points attendance. I wonder if by adding the Winter Fest event if they will be able to top Cedar Point next year.
  6. Life lesson for you, People are dumb. an example beyond what you're seeing at CP today. I attended Rock On The Range in Columbus again this year (big major 3 day rock and metal fest outdoors) It rained off and on all weekend. Set times were messed up and some bands had to overlap. All but two bands got to the play out of the 60 there. Had you looked at social media you would think everything was canceled and they were purposely the weather to make themselves more money. In reality weather affects outdoor activities and the venue did a very good job of evacuating and making sure people were safe. They also did a very good job of getting curfew pushed back and making sure everyone got full set times other than the two that had to leave for other engagements.
  7. Rock On The Range Thank you Metallica, Gojira, Primus.
  8. If they sold the weekend as a preview or bonus days type deal with cheaper ticket prices would most of you be okay with them being slow to have rides approved by the state and open? I'm not trying to bring anyone down this is an honest question that I am curious about how you may feel.
  9. I am curious how Saturday went for you sir, did you end up needing FL?
  10. It all depends on weather. If you're getting a season pass I wouldn't get Fast Lane, but that's just me.
  11. This weekend is the Flying Pig Marathon and a lot of people come in from out of town I believe they said all 50 states and 20 something countries. We usually go the Sunday of the big races ( full and half Ill be doing the half this year) and have no issues I have always avoided that Saturday because I didn't want to risk the crowds. Regardless if the weather is going to be nice Saturday expect a big crowd from pass holders.
  12. I remember at Banshee Bash hearing you tell the tour people to make sure they are at the bus on time which I think was 15 minutes after the Beast ERT. I was thinking do these people really have to choose on a 17th consecutive Beast night ride and being on the bus? if so I am taking the Beast if I can't run fast enough! only kidding, I liked hearing that rule and that you guys were strict on the departure times especially with the surprises you guys had planned like Strickers.
  13. okay so I used to bitch about people being late that had kids before I had kids and they would get mad at me for it and say something along the lines of "you don't have kids you don't understand" well here I am now with a nearly 4 year old and a year and half old and i am still never late to anything. sure the random blowout of a diaper can slow you down but that's not an everyday thing. Those people are just piss poor at planning ahead and respecting others whom they have made plans with.
  14. For me Mystic Timbers feels like the most intense coaster Kings Island has. I love it almost feels like a small version of the back half of Voyage. The only other coasters I consider to feel like its intense or fulling a lot of forces is Banshee mainly when you enter the bottom of the massive bat wing. Invertigo may give you fits also but i never ride that piece of poo.
  15. Why is fun so hard for people. I will never understand people like that. to go with complainers when I worked at Kings Island in games i remember watching this not so nicely kept family playing whack-a-mole several times and they got pissed because they couldn't win. they also got mad that they would pay for the minimum amount to play for their group so it was guaranteed one of them would win and when someone would sit down they would yell at the worker not to take their money that they paid to play and no one else. To cut a long story short they had the games manager for that area brought out and they yelled at him for a half hour until he finally just gave them a prize to get them to go the F away.
  16. For some reason several years back I felt like I needed to ride every coaster I came across including the kid coasters just to have the credit and move my count up. It didn't take long for me to snap out of wanting to do that as I realized I was just wasting time on rides I did not care about and did not mean anything. I guess the only instance I felt out of place was riding the kid coaster at Holiday World. I now have trouble understanding why people drive out of their way to hit an obscure kiddie coaster when they could just be going out to the parks that have the ones that actually matter. edit: some of you may look at my profile picture and think this is an odd thing for me to say. I can assure you my son who was 2 at the time was on the ride with me and I enjoy the picture because it does look like its just me on there having a blast.
  17. in being an ass? or being a part of the poll?
  18. Because I have dreams dammit and I am allowed to believe in them! in all seriousness we are waiting until next year to make our first trip back since 14. We our going to take my mother in law. she has never been and only likes been smooth steel coasters.
  19. I had a good 3 days at the park starting with Thursday as some read in my earlier report. I decided to go back Friday but just to take my son to Planet Snoopy. I just failed at planning on this day. I did not anticipate the hour long wait just to get off the highway and park and did not anticipate the obscene crowds in Planet Snoopy. I should have known better. I did get to take him on his first ride on Woodstock Express ( formally known as Beastie) which made the fact that we were only able to ride a few things better. Every food place had long lines but I noticed that they were moving much better than on opening day last year. I should have known better with it being 80 and sunny to stay away from the park for that first day. He was pumped about the ride when we hit the brakes. Now as for yesterday (Sunday) i had a hunch there would be small crowds and took the family up to the park. we were there a little over four hours. Had two meals on our meal plan and rode everything in Planet snoopy multiple times and took a ride on the train. it was a perfect day. Thank you zombie jesus day and thank you impending doom rainstorms that never hit.
  20. We will, Thats what we got to do last night. My boy has been asking all winter to go back to the park. Enjoy your evening as well.
  21. I am leaving work early as well. This visit will be for the little ones though. We will be hanging out in Planet Snoopy and eating dinner at the park.
  22. edit: there is a spoiler in this. I took part in the First rider Auction Last night. Had a great time. It was a little different than the Banshee one but that is to be expected with it being for different foundations. I ended up in 6th for fundraising just shy of the top 5 cut off who got something signed by Andy Dalton and got to ride the first train out with him. I am not sure why they only included the top 5 for that it seemed odd but I got to meet him and shake his hand so I was happy. A huge thank you! to the Andy and Jordan Dalton Foundation and Kings Island for putting this event together. I enjoy that they themed the coaster a bit and tried to give it a story, feels better than walking up to most of the rides with just a half assed sign and a queue to get in. The coaster itself is fantastic. I have limited experience on GCI as Thunderhead is the only one I have been on. I Like Mystic Timbers better. It seemed to get more intense to me as the ride went on and felt relentless the layout seems straight forward and boring but its strong pops and twists non stop until you hit the shed. The shed I ended up liking. I enjoy a bit of comic relief. I got Total eclipse of the heart most of the time and I couldn't help but think of The Dan Band from Old School with their vulgar version every time. As far as brake runs go this is the best one I have experienced, it gives you something to look at while you wait and in the summer it wont be miserable to wait. For me either the first row or last row was the way to go and sitting on the right side seemed to throw you around a little bit more for whatever reason. The middle felt like it jostled me more. We got 8 rides in I am headed back tonight but it will be for the kids and the kids area so I am not sure when I will ride again. I am looking forward to hearing all of the reactions from the people that don't travel and only know Racer and Beast with woodies they are in for a bit of a shock. I also got to visit my new niece that was born at a tiny 5 pounds before we headed to the event so it was an awesome day. My badge, the green sticker represents what tier you were. Green was the top tier. As a group we managed to raise 60k I'm fat I like food. BBQ, Burgers< and chicken tenders to go with some sides. I'll always accept a tasty Busken cookie. As a fan of the Bengals and Andy this was cool for me. First train with top 5 and Andy The wife and I had a good date night away from the kids. Good night Mystic Timbers it has been fun.
  23. 4 hours for Face Off ( Invertigo) at Kings Island. I was I think 13 at the time. I had never seen or been on a boomerang before 20-30 minutes in I realized it was going to be a very long wait and told my dad I wanted to go do something else. I guess he wanted to teach me some life lesson about patience because I had talked their ear off about it all week and made him wait a half hour and dammit he wasn't wasting that half hour for nothing. We finally get on, sit in the seats, buckle the seat belt, get the all clear and the waiting is about to pay off I am so excited...... then it doesn't go anywhere. it broke down and for the rest of the day. Thanks for the lesson dad, I was right you should listen to me more.
