What Was the Last Beer You Drank?
ytterbiumanalyst replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
Trying a new-to-me variety from one of my favourite breweries. I love IPAs, and while this one is honestly not the best I've ever had, it's not too bad. -
Most Disappointing Coaster!

To be fair the first drop is decent, it's just everything afterwards sucks. I would agree with that. -

Raging Bull. I was genuinely excited to ride this, as it was my first B&M hyper, and prior to it the only hyper I had ridden was Mamba. The idea of a smoother, more modern Mamba was very appealing, but the ride was just not any good. -
Downtown Louisville has nightlife, and most of it is centered on bourbon. I don't know if you're strictly a beer guy, but if you like whisky at all, there are plenty of bars downtown with good selections and even flights. I'd recommend Down One at 3rd & Main. If you're not into whisky, you might as well go on to Cincinnati.

Classics?... kids these days. Sorry, but the entire Galaxy series basically made my childhood. And it is one of the best games ever made... Neither of which makes it a classic. It's 6 years old, released May 2010. To be a classic, something has to stand the test of time. Tetris is a classic. Nothing released this decade has had enough time to prove itself. If people are still playing Mario Galaxy 2 in 2040, maybe you'll have a point. Not now.

60 on Johto so far, and there's actually a couple more I already have the resources for when I choose to evolve stuff (Bellossom and Pupitar), but I read a post from Niantic that said hold on to your candy until St. Patrick's Day. No reason given, but I figure the reason will be good when it's revealed in good time. Congrats on the Larvitar. Tyranitar (its 2nd evolution) was one of the best in Gold/Silver/Crystal, really the successor to Dragonite in a lot of ways, though not a Dragon-type. If you don't know about it already, go to Silph Road (https://www.thesilphroad.com). They have a lot of information about the game obtained by digging into the code and/or just experimenting. The single biggest reason to go, though, is for the nest maps. Players submit locations where they've found a high concentration of one species. This is an invaluable tool for deciding where to allocate your time. Nests shuffle every other Wednesday at 8PM Eastern, and in the most recent shuffle, the city park closest to my work got a Magnemite nest! Elsewhere in town, we also ended up with nests for Houndour and Sneasel, too! These next couple weeks I'm gonna work on those elusive Ice and Steel badges as well as closing in on the Dark badge.

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

This. Prior to CAD, engineers had to do all the calculations by hand, which took a very long time. So they tended to stick with the same pieces over and over again, since they had already done the calculations for them. That's why all of their loops are exactly the same, for example. Now, Arrow did make the mistake in hindsight of not converting to CAD quickly enough. Hence why B&M was abke to disrupt the industry with their superior technology. Until B&M, no one expected roller coasters to be smooth. People won't demand something they don't know is possible. Once people had experienced a CAD designed coaster, though, they began to demand them, and everyone, including Arrow, had to make the switch. -

How many Lowe's could Rob Lowe rob if Rob Lowe could rob Lowe's? -

Nope, I love what Arrow did, and seeing how Morgan tried to replicate that and couldn't, I'm pretty content to just ride Magnum as is. -

Bandit is probably what I'm thinking of then. Leave it to nerds to turn half-remembered trivia into facts! -

Hadn't Arrow just done a coaster in Japan that was a lot like Magnum but smaller? I think I remember something about a Japanese coaster being the inspiration. -
