  1. Yeah that sounds like Six Flags. SDC starts their spiel as the air gates open.
  2. Yeah, I'd be shocked if they do this again next year.
  3. True, and RMC dispatches are naturally slow to begin with. Just a "feature" of the restraints. "Seat belts first, and don't pull down the restraints until we tell you. Seat belts first, don't forget your seat belts." And even with that spiel, there's always someone who pulls down their restraint immediately and doesn't wear the seat belt....
  4. You rode the El through Kensington. Imagine that at night. You win. I don't think the numbers have been released yet, but a different ride was the most ridden this year! Train has to be the most ridden. You can get, what, 300 people at a time on that thing? No one's afraid of a train, it has interesting scenery, and it saves a walk across half the park. If I had money on this, it would be on the train. Based on footage, it's 12.5 minutes between dispatches. Which is 4,032 rph with two trains. Which is nearly twice what their highest capacity coaster, Gemini, currently runs at. Ok, see, there's somebody with actual numbers. That's basically my point, that it can have way more riders than anything else. Ridership depends much more on demand than capacity for trains. And demand for Kensington trains ought to be zero. I never want to see that f*cking place again.
  5. No, I've never gotten to be in either Pirates of Penzance or Hamilton , and I am neither able to quote the fights historical from Marathon to Wateroo, nor a venerated Virginian veteran whose men are all lining up to put me upon a pedastal. (Oh, and an office Thanksgiving party is never ON Thanksgiving, just like an office Christmas party is never ON Christmas. Ours was last Thursday.) Does your workplace have a Christmas party?
  6. Outlaw Run in the dark! Yep, there's a train on the lift. Can't see it? That's okay, they can't see anything either.
  7. I know there are at least two. Might be three. But let's assume 300 people per train, two trains, and a 10 minute ride. That's 3600 people per hour. If there's a third train, that's 5400 people per hour. And you can probably get more than 300 into one of those trains if the demand is there.

  9. What's not a coaster about it? It's got a train, it's got a track, it's got 10 loops. It's just oozing coasterness.
  10. That was my experience with Matterhorn as well. Went twice (single rider line is AWESOME for that ride). The first time I never saw the other train. The second it was a bit ahead of us.
  11. That stadium was an eyesore. A lot of what makes Cedar Point so great is its location on the beach, so using that can really help them. Wicked Twister is really great, best of its kind. I get that the capacity is not really up to CP's standards, but I would miss it if it leaves.
  12. Not "just for the credit" as I don't care about that. But I have been on plenty of Arrows in the rain, and Vekomas, and B&Ms, and RMCs, and Premiers, and.... you know, whatever's running really. So not Intamin. Does your workplace have a Thanksgiving party?
  13. U2's new single "Get Out of Your Own Way."
  14. I know, right? Can't wait to get to Florida's Six Flags and ride all those!
  15. Yeah, really. And after bitching for years about not having a second inverting coaster. You finally got it, and now you want more? So entitled.
  16. Actual footage of Captain Unknown right before posting that:
  17. Oh, come now, it's just taking them a while to figure oot where all those gee golly gosh darn pieces go, don'tchaknow?
  18. A Buzzfeed article is generally the same level of journalism as a Youtube comment.
  19. After Dollywood and PA last year, big shake up in the top ten. Top Wood: 1. The Outlaw Run 2. The Phoenix 3. The El Toro 4. The Voyage 5. The Beast Top Steel: 1. The Millennium Force 2. The Skyrush 3. The Magnum XL-200 4. The Diamondback 5. The Maverick
  20. I know right? SDC is really outdoing themselves, and their last coaster was Outlaw Run!
  21. Silver Dollar City and Six Flags St. Louis this weekend . Double Christmas festivals!
  22. Very nice! Phantasialand looks really good, and Munich Oktoberfest...wow, what a place! Glad you got to experience it.
  23. Agreed. I think I'm equally excited about Six Flags St. Louis' new slide as I am Time Traveler and Steel Vengeance.
