  1. Is this upcoming week supposed to be busy? Because I am going Monday. Hopefully the crowds will be light.
  2. Exactly. Regardless of how "forceless" it is, no b&m is truly bad. Here are a few factors relating to the cost, remember the $24 mil is the overall investment (meaning all the money spent on anything to do with the coaster). -Recession (the cost of everything is rising, and steel is not cheap). And we all know coasters just keep getting even more expensive each year. -The overall size and scale of this coaster, the next biggest thing when it comes to overall size is Alpengeist. -The demolition of SOB. -Coaster is built onto the terrain, just look at the support work for everything following the first V-Loop. Much Longer steel supports required due to the tricky terrain, if this coaster were to be built on a flat surface a lot less steel would be needed. This is probably why large coasters aren't "Nemesis" when it comes to forces. Much larger track pieces and stronger(bigger) supports would be needed. So making the transitions smoother puts less stress on the track, which leads to less supports and steel needed to strengthen the ride due to excessive forces. Leading to an overall cheaper ride. Just a thought...
  3. - Every person trying to defend a new B&M 2001-2013 Exactly. It's not about judging a ride by an animated POV. It's about knowing what kind of rides B&M has built for the last 10+ years. Why would they change this now when a middle-of-the-road B&M will still be in the top 2 rides for this park? I always laugh when poeple try to down-grade a B&M for not being as forceful. The days of Nemesis and BTR were over 10 years ago people....
  4. I love the new modified trains. Hopefully these will provide a VIEW for people not in the front seat.
  5. Planning on Visiting CP August 12 with a group of 4. Should this be a busy or slow day? I just want to know if I'll be able to ride (Maverick,MILF, GateKeeper & TTD) at least once. I've been keeping an eye on the webcams to get a better understanding of how busy each day is. Just like to know from a fellow enthusiast.
  6. What Cedar Point could do.... * Mean Streak getting the NTG treatment, but with just regular topper track. That way they can brag about it being the world's greatest "this" and "that" wooden coaster. (This ride has potential, just needs someone *cough* RMC *cough* who know's what they're doing.) *Iron Dragon Backwards facing trains OR Floorless trains like Vampire OR Both

  8. Rode Gemini 3x and Maggie 2x back-to-back. It's not much, but I had a good time (that's all that counts though ).
  9. Who would want one? That's the real question, they cant build a smooth ride at 50mph. I cant even imagine 70-80mph.
  10. Any chairlift / sky bucket ride scares me. I'd rather walk.
  11. Thanks for that info about Nitro. I couldn't find much about it on the net. This track does seem to be floorless though. The more compact ones, like Batman – The Dark Knight & Insane Speed. However, footers have just started to be poured. I don't think we would see these type of pieces yet (curvy ones), we should be seeing straight sections (lift, station). Which is why I believe this is not for KI.
  12. Mega Lite for Michigan's Adventure! PERFECT!
  13. Looks like Floorless track. Maybe it's for Nitro?
  14. I hope they have some great ride operators for this. They are going to be baking in that hot SoCal. sun.
  15. Hopefully this park gets something other than a Giga coaster. I know it worked for CW, but I find the whole Idea of the same ride, just taller, to be a waste of an investment. A wing, Invert or a Dive coaster would bring a whole new dimension of coaster riding to the park.
  16. ^Well water expands when it freezes. It might be something to do with tides, IDK
  17. No more Kinzel, no more "Oh Look at we can throw in every other parks face" type of mentality.
  18. ^From what I can tell from this picture, yes. However, this picture demonstrates how that footer can be used for different purposes.
  19. I remember seeing this in a TPR video about IAAPA 2013. Neat little concept, although the stratosphere hotel already has a similar concept (the building at the top). And as the person above me mentioned, this could just end up being yet another cancelled Vegas project. INB4 Kingda Ka fan-boys.
  20. Hi there, some of my family and friends and I are heading to Hershey Park June 29. Were still deciding on a one or two day trip (due to the 6-7 hour drive). So I was just wondering if any of you Hershey Park veterans have any tips for a first timer. Like the best spots to eat, shop /etc. I want to make sure we get in all the big rides too. My HP bucket list consists of SkyRush, Sidewinder, Great Bear Lightning Racer, and Storm Runner. I would like to know a good game plan for the day(s) that we're there to make sure we have the best of times with the limited time we are there. P.S. What is the "ideal" seat on SkyRush. I am most likely only going to ride it once due to capacity.
  21. Yes. My first time on Millennium Force was in the rain, at night.
  22. I knew that both sides would be different. After watching the POV, It's like two different ride experiences. FastLane Plus is a must, I've got to try at-least 8 different seats (Front, Back, and Middle of both sides).
  23. ^ Probably a park with lots of Intamins.
