How many hours of sleep did you get last night?
Homer replied to DBru's topic in Random, Random, Random
I feel your pain man. Last year during daylight savings, I had to work 11 AM to close (midnight) and then open at 5 AM. Minus one hour of sleep and a long day. Thankfully, my manager noticed I looked like a zombie halfway through lunch rush and let me go home early. As for last nights sleep, good ol' 9 hours, 10:30-7:30. -

which theme park best accommodates foreigners?
Homer replied to csikoth's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know Busch Gardens Tampa has maps in multiple languages and spiels in both English and Spanish. -

A very informative and funny trip review Colin. I'll admit the Pokemon joke might be the best thing I've read from a TR in a while. -
2008 Six Flags Souvenir Cup Policy
Homer replied to trek's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I disagree. Sure, I like getting cheap drinks and a decent cup. However, I hate carrying stuff with me that are loose articles. As for the year however, I think cups should be good for 2 years tops. -

The Dells was a good time, I can't wait for the rest just for the ghetto soda machines and Happy Gilmore mini-golf. -
Yes I've been sledding over at my relatives house in PA. I guess this can count as both a good and bad experience. The hill behind the neighborhood of my relatives is normally a corn field during the summer, however during the winter, its prime sledding/tubing ground. So on my first time sledding back when I was 11, about to go down the big hill, and the first time is always the best. However, my cousins forgot to tell me that there was a ditch at the bottom. So, I crash through a bunch of snow and land into a frozen ditch. Lovely... ...though I want to do it again.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
Homer replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I will have to agree with you on that one. The forward side somehow in the middle of the ride managed to staple me down another notch into my man parts. It was like a minute long vicegrip on the balls. Tis a shame though, backwards coasters are always a lot more fun. -
Next TPR Meet: While not all of us could get the dough or the time off to go to the West Coast Bash. Think of a brighter thing, especially if you have a Wii, why? Super Smash Bros. Brawl is finally being released after a long wait from the Gamecube's big hit Super Smash Bros. Melee released back in 2001. And if you need something new for your Wii, this is the game to pick up. And for newcomers to the series, to sum it up: Excellent fighting game featuring Nintendo characters, Great multiplayer that is very addictive. And from reviews so far, high critical praise. One thing Brawl improves on over its previous games is the Nintendo Wi-Fi feature, where you can always find someone to fight with any time of day. However, Brawl has a different code from the "Wii code." So, discuss Brawl and share your friend codes! TPR Name | Friend Code

Jahan, glad to see you've actually taken initiative and well, an enjoyable trip report. As for the Rock-o-Plane pic, god I look special in that picture. Looking forward to the rest! -

^Aquatrax for Busch Gardens Africa or Busch being sold to some company. Calling that right now. -
9 New Johnny Rockets!!
Homer replied to thrillgeek's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I question though, why would a park need two Johnny Rockets? It isn't like Six Flags is a mid-size city or anything and needs two of the same sit down restaurants in one park? Hopefully somebody with experience can explain the logistics. -

Ask Mark Shapiro a Question!
Homer replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
-Since the addition of Wiggles World and Thomas Town mainly appealing to the 2-6 year old crowd, do you have any future plans of appealing to the "tween" (7-12 years old) demographic for family sections (example: Jungala at Busch Gardens Tampa)? -The Wii Experience has been a hit with the general public and I like seeing more people getting into video games. Is there any slight possibility of a Nintendo themed area/attraction coming soon from the Nintendo partnership or not? -

Scott's Coaster Closet
Homer replied to SeaWhippet's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It is one of the first things I notice every single time somebody posts that image in a topic about accidents. I guess it is natural to be scared seeing that. Meanwhile, I've liked everything so far in this topic. I like these attic/closet topics. -
If you ask me, there are too many coaster sites out there as is; and if you start one now, it won't be much different than other sites. My advice is, if you want to start a coaster website right now, it HAS to have something different that no other site has. Then again, if you just want your own personal photo gallery, take Hercules' advice and get a Webshots account. It's easy and free.

Disneyland Rides that need a refurbishment...
Homer replied to spacemtfan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Space Mountain just came off an extensive rehab back in 2005, I don't think it really needs ANOTHER rehab so soon. As Mike said, rides make noise, some mischief-making guests may vandalize a rail or two, but that doesn't mean "Close the ride down for a few months." -

A long while back, Wes posted a picture of Robb in his awkward ACEr phase ( http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19890&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 ). Looking like the stereotypical coaster enthusiast with a denim jacket laced with patches of ride/park logos along with the gravy buffet gut. More recently, however, forum poster TheRapidsNerd posted a picture of himself 10 years ago to illustrate a point in the "Bad Restaurant Experiences" topic. Not only did it illustrate said point, but it has haunted him back. Also, he plays the Keytar, which is awesome. So, which picture would you rather look at if it were permanently made your desktop, a poster on the wall of your room, etc? TheRapidsNerd; sporting a mullet, mustache, and keytar.
