Something odd regarding AAT
Homer replied to TheStig's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Akbar's is not coming back... Akbar opened in 1998 as a family attraction in Egypt as a retheme from the Questor film. Sometime in 2002, the ride barely operated and only operated about twice a year in 2003. It last operated around Dec. 2004/Jan. 2005. Main reason is for maintenance, since the ride constantly broke down the days it last operated. The reason behind the closure was due to maintainence. But, the ride would still operate today if it weren't for a legal issue. At one time, Busch considered grabbing mechanical parts from Wild Arctic to modify on Akbar's. One problem though, Akbar's pods were done by another company. In Florida, its illegal to modify the ride using other parts (as a safety issue). The company that made Akbar's went out of business, so they couldn't get another part. So, Busch decided to let the thing rot. Tis' a shame, probably the best family show/ride there... EDIT, heres a quote from FloridaThrills member Jes. I think it explains everything clearer than my post: -
I liked all of the Bunny re-enactments... as a matter of fact, I remember seeing this when this first came out back in 2004. A great, quick flash cartoon.

Carnival Accidend in Miami
Homer replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The ride probably had a lot of wear and tear. I rode this EXACT same machine back in 2004 at a youth gathering in Orlando. Need I say more, as you can see in the pic, one of the lights flew off and it broke down alot during the event (smoke kept coming out of the engine). Still, carnys scare me... -

Ed, yes you can. Mario Kart DS has a worldwide selection on online play. As a matter of fact, recently I have played with a guy from Japan. Also, I played with Scott (from CoasterForce) recently on MKDS. -

Another great site for downloading some premade scenarios (only a few, though...). http://www.coaster-net.com/de/rct2/rct2parks.php - Look at the first section called "Landscapes & Scenarios". -
I vote House 4... for some odd reason, is it me, or do most of those houses pictured look the same.

Yokohama Cosmoworld Wheel...
Homer replied to PKIDelirium's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
With amentities like that, sounds like it is going to be very pricey. But I do agree, every park does need a giant ferris wheel as an icon. Sadly, BGT only has the tiny "Egg Wheel" made by Zamperla inside Land of the Dragons. -
The "Disney-Magic" that TPR built!

Another amazing ride done by Ed. Geisha was the best thing in the last park and EE is the best thing so far in the Disney Magic TPR park. And, WIP! -
... the cameraman owed the wasp $76.50 and a date with Sean Connery.

Yep, kids, before that dancing old dude came and died so soon... there was a theme park chain with only three words as its selling point. It was a lot better than "Clean, Safe, Fun!"... it was "Bigger, faster, closer!", which eventually evolved to "So Big, So Fast, So Close!". Well, heres an old TV ad hosted at Retrojunk.com. If you ask me, if Snyder is looking for a new ad... why not rehash Bigger, Faster, Closer. Also, indulge yourself in old SFMM stock footage! http://www.retrojunk.com/details_commercial/924/ Judging by the location map in the ad... this was probably aired in 1995, due to no SFFT and SFStL being called its old name of Mid-America.

That ad was funny, but here is a gamer made PSA on how the XBOX360 is this generation's Dreamcast. http://xcast.ytmnd.com/

Funny, but not as funny as the 30 second ad a student whipped up in my Mass Media class... Lets just say it involves beating the crap out of a freshman with nunchucks and baseball bats. Funny ad though! Nice job...

Duddley Do rights ripsaw falls videos onride
Homer replied to coasterboi's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode Ripsaw Falls a few months ago, no fire effects on ride. I wouldn't recommend trying to get a POV of the ride, as in one of the outdoor portions of the ride, theres a guard by the second(?) lift (the one with the "Fooled Ya!" waterfall that scares everybody). That waterfall, and as jarmor said, the train light, are the only special effects on Ripsaw Falls. Oh yeah, and its my favorite water ride, period. You get soaked and it has a kickass drop with an "airtime hill". -

Is it possible on PHP to have Subforums like on Invision? If so, I wouldn't mind a stickies and BiCoastalKid's suggestion of a Forum Games forum. It seems now we have enough members that would still actively post in the new forums.
